Yep. I was right. Freakin’ insomnia. On a positive note, I’m have a head start on my traditional New Years Cleansing. . I’m not sure if it was my mom’s thing, or because we picked up a few habits from living in Japan for over a decade ~ before the start of the New Year; laundry is all done, folded, ironed, and stowed; bedsheets cleaned or replaced; floors swept and mopped - and anything that you’ve been meaning to do for a while, but never got to must be done. . It was important to start the New Year with a stocked fridge and a new unopened bag of rice. Call it “silly”, or a “superstition”, but starting a New Year with unfinished business and no food is not a good way to start a “New You”. . This little tradition isn’t really about a “New You”. It’s more about having your home in order. Personally, I believe if I can’t get my house in order, how can successfully follow through with a life-changing New Years Resolution? A lot of people don’t see how any of that’s related, but that’s okay ~ because this is my thing, and it helps me begin every year with a fresh outlook. . A little off topic, but after 0200, they sell some really weird shit on TV.
