i just realized gihun and sangwoo BOTH lost (LOST, LISTEN TO ME) marbles but later ended up winning—the difference being one won because of themself, and the other won because of their partner.
ive been gatekeeping this knowledge from the evil and non-literate sangwoo fans but sangwoo actually lost marbles to ali.. he had 3 marbles, ali bet 3 marbles but he just kind of like. crashed out and diverted attention (omgggg hes so dramatic 🙄)
of course, gihun lost to the old man but was saved by his ‘dementia’ (faked)—he cheats the old man
so they both ended up using manipulation in the end (why do ppl always forget this.. while not exactly the same they were both out of a place of extreme desperation and gihun really DID care for ilnam in the games, as did sangwoo care for ali, you can see how it tears BOTH of them apart.. okay you get it)
sangwoo ended up winning his game through successfully manipulating ali—a product of himself.
gihun, on the other hand, ended up winning his game through ilnam with.. whatever the fuck was happening in the game.. ilnam’s ‘dementia’ and then later sacrifice—a product of his partner.
