“look, serena, stop trying to pretend you’re a good girl. so you slept with your best friend’s boyfriend. i kind of admire you for it.”
Granny and Gramps Olday Challenge
Granny and Gramps Olday always wanted a large family, but luck never allowed it. For years they were brokenhearted over it, but they've learned to accept it and move on. Being the neighborhood grandparents now brings them joy as Granny bakes the children cookies and Gramps teaches them about fishing and tells them the stories of "the olden days" on repeat. Will they live out their golden years alone or decide to take their chances and adopt?
For this challenge, you can use Granny & Gramps Olday and their cottage or you can create your own sims and home. Your sims must be elderly and married, but otherwise they can dress and have whatever traits you’d like. If you choose the adopt path (explained below) you must actually adopt rather than creating the child along with the elders. There are no certain home requirements. You can use whatever home you’d like.
Gameplay and Rules: Granny and Gramps are super sweet people! They can’t get out much, but they love having visitors and make friends with all their neighbors and anyone they run in to! Because of this you must...
Greet/introduce yourself to everyone you see
Allow all visitors inside, day or night, unless both Granny and Gramps are already in bed for the night.
When you have visitors, Granny cooks or bakes for them and Gramps talks to them (because he likes to talk about fishing and share his knowledge of the outdoors and maybe slip in a pull-my-finger type of joke now and then).
When you don’t have visitors, Granny is always busy cooking, baking, or raising her cooking and baking skills. Gramps enjoys reading about fishing and learning all he can. Both Granny and Gramps love gardening and enjoy taking time to tend to their flowers and produce.
Never move from their current lot. They’d miss all their loved ones and moving is hard work!
Getting out and about tire the elderly couple quite easily so they don’t leave home often, no more than once a sim week and only if they don’t have visitors at the time.
They’re retired so you can have them get a job, but they must retire after no longer than a week or you can choose to simply live off what profit they make from selling their fish, flowers and produce. You can also choose to use a money cheat if you’d prefer to make it easier.
Will Granny and Gramps live out the last of their days never having had the chance to be parents or will they choose to adopt a child and take the risk of possibly not seeing that child grow into adulthood or maybe not even into the teenage years? You decide! If you choose to not adopt, just keep playing as above until both Granny and Gramps have passed on. If you decide you do want to adopt the rules are as follows:
You can only adopt one child, male or female.
It must be a child, not a baby or a toddler. Granny and Gramps are too old for that!
Granny and Gramps dote on their child and give in to his or her every whim and wish! You must grant as many of the child’s whims as possible and work on the child reaching his/her aspiration at least until Granny and Gramps are both gone.
Everything their child does is so cute! Because of that, they never feel the need to discipline him/her! No scolding, yelling, grounding, or time outs for their little angel!
Wanting to be certain their child can be independent after they’re gone, they make sure their child learns the cooking/baking, gardening, and fishing skills as soon as possible.
The child is fully supported by Granny and Gramps even when the child becomes a teenager so he/she may not have a job until he/she is living alone.
Choose your goal!
How much money can Granny and Gramps earn before passing on?
How many friends can they make?
Can they max skills in cooking, baking, gardening, and fishing?
If you chose to adopt, can they raise the child to at least teenager before they die?
Can they help their child learning cooking, baking, fishing, and gardening so he/she can be independent once Granny and Gramps are gone?
If you choose to do this challenge, I’d love to hear how it’s going and if you’re enjoying it! This is the first time I’ve typed it out so it may need tweaked now and then. Let me know if you have any suggestions or problems with it. You can leave a comment, message me, or email me at [email protected].
Thank you! Have fun and good luck!

Day 35 of 84. Today was all about kicking back and relaxing. I was protein focused eating wise, but didn't have a single real "meal", just mostly protein like eggs, ribs and brisk. Never the less, I made it. Even had fun with one of my besties at a album release party, which included a couple of carb free drinks of my choice. ☺ it was the day I just wanted to be.... mindless... Tomorrow I have to weigh myself for my weekly check in. 😨 #ggchallenge #contest #fitmom #fitforlife
