guuuuuuh the thing is that I see both Fenris and Anders ’s sides. It’s just….. guuuuh.
On one hand, I think the Circle doesn’t work. There’s too much things that are going wrong, Templars do abuse their powers (and i’m not even talking about how templars themselves suffer from Lyrium addittions which can ruin their lives). In the Circle of Fereldan at least, there was very little freedom and individuality, especially since mages were taken as children, mostly forced into obediance, not really taught it in a healthy way, and therefore mostly feeling like curses and mistakes. A misstep and you could be made into a Tranquil, which is a horrible thing.
The Blood Mages attack on the Circle was an internal problem which was born from the Mages frustrations of being stripped away from every bit of humanity. Blood magic is disgusting in every way and I don’t accept it, but the reason it blew up in the Circle is because the system doesn’t work. The fact the Templars can have a hand so heavy that they can decide on killing every mages is dangerous enough. Kirkwall is showing that.
But on the other, Fenris does have a point that in Tevinter, where Magisters have more freedom, it gets mages to abuse their powers. Especially since magical powers also result in political powers apparently. Therefore there are a tons of abuse that are unacceptable and disgusting.
So like.. I get Anders’s side, and I get Fenris’s side, but I don’t see how to do a middle ground and it’s stressing me out.
And of course they are at each other throats because of that and it’s so tense o(-(
