Best bud is finishing up their game for their finals this month, I'll probably share it after. In the meantime, we've done our last updates on Stasis; our sick game from the GGJ12. Literally, it's SICK since it’s about bacteria and cells and how you have to regulate the breeding of bacteria in the internal organs and stuff LOL. Not that it’s obvious, since I did a stellar job with the graphics. *barf* BUT HEY WHO CARES about the crappy graphics! The game is fun! XD Took me the day after the Jam to understand how to play it LOL.
I’ll put my Global Game Jam-related musings under the Read More cut since it is long and it’s about time I wrote about this.
Game Release | GGJ 2012
GGJ Game | Return to a field of flowers Play our 48 hour game we created for the Global Game Jam competition hosted 27-29 January 2012.
This game was inspired by the difficulty of Dark souls, where learning the levels, the enemies and the character are part of the skill of the game. Understanding your character better, growing your skills each run, getting stronger as a player each time you die - As well as getting new items which make you better.. Items that combine to make you even stronger. The theme The global game jam works with a global theme, and the theme for 2012 was this : From wikipedia : The Ouroboros represents the perpetual cyclic renewal of life, the eternal return, and represents the cycle of life, death and rebirth, leading to immortality, as in the phoenix. Controls : Left click : Attack (When holding a weapon) Right click : Block (When holding a shield) Space : Roll M : Toggle Music 1 - 4 : Enable/Disable rendering effects (for slower machines) Collect all the items, collect the boss statue item and exit the level at the red light gate to finish the game.

Greeting, everyone!!
Just a few hours the Global Game Jam finished. Great games will come from this experience, and we want our game in this list too, so... we create this tumblr, to upload any news and updates about our game.
Just for now, we´ll update some graphics, camera controls, and screen navigation to make the experience more intense. And no: we gonna update the game, but you still can see the first version, and the first source of this game.
See ya.
GGJ12 - Sunday Jam
I started sunday by making 3 minute long ambient track for my visual novel. I plugged my bass and amplifier to my computer and turned Flanger and Reverb all the way up. After a few tries I got a track together :D Deadline for games is 3 p.m. but I don't feel like submitting my ninja game and the Red Snake Conspiracy won't be finished. It still needs a dragon and some other stuff.
It's the last day tomorrow! We're on the final touches of our game. To be completely honest, I don't know how to win in our game. :)) I just try to survive as long as I can, but in order to win, you need to strategize. I'm pretty stoked as they're adding additional modes now too.
All my teammates are programming geniuses, and I'm left here with my brain fizzling at all their syntax and their math. Haha! Right now their laughing a lot at lines of code. I never knew I would meet people who actually do that, who is not Moss from the IT Crowd. :) I am so amused!
I love them actually. We're a team of four people and aside from me, they're all pretty freaking kick-ass. I really need to learn a PL this year! I'm choosing between Unity or FlashDevelop, which framework I want to study.
I joined a team AND attempted to make a game individually! I'm the BG, UI and sprite artist of the group and I can only hope what I did was sufficient. I'm very low-tech... lol. The game I was attempting to make was a visual novel "Consumeroboros". It was too convoluted without any real substance though. Alas, I trashed it completely tonight. It wasn't worth more effort. Our team game is more deserving of the hardship. :)
I'll write more about it next time! It's sleepy times around here and I need to drink some coffee~
GGJ12 - Project page
Good morning and coding. I run into problems and have been making my structure more simple all morning. I even made a page for my project. http://globalgamejam.org/2012/red-ninja When in trouble, lower your goals and be happy :D I would be content to get a moving character on the screen. All else is extra fun.
GGJ12 - Midnite is coming
I am doing a game about a ninja. There will be blood and missiles (my friend suggested also adding tits and zombies for an instant three star review). I might plug it into a visual novel if I have time. Not my favourite idea, but I'll do it anyway. Programming language is Python and it's great PyGame library. For the possible Visual Novel part I'll be using Ren'Py. Some code is already written, but just general markers and function names. I am trying to put a general structure together, so I can continue from a good base when I come back to school tomorrow morning. Some of us are going to jam all night long, but not me: I seem to have a sleeping pattern.
