Okay but out of some other point-and-click 2D platforming games, you gotta admit Poptropica has pretty responsive and accurate controls yknow? maybe it’s because i’m used to them, as i sure do struggle much less than i did when i was a kid LOL

but ya enjoy yet another meme-y artwork for yours truly 🫶

Sanae's Sylphid Breeze!! The newest Kirby-inspired Touhou Indie Fangame is finally here!!! Available for PC via Steam in both English and Japanese, and you can also try out a Demo version

The game takes inspiration mainly from Touhou 10, and as you can see, the pixel art is simply beautiful, in both the minisprites and also the portraits. You can tell they were made with lots of love. I especially like that little pose she does, and the various copy abilities that can be obtained

Of course, this being a Kirby fangame, it features a bunch of mechanics and aesthetics borrowed from the series. In terms of look, it's clearly inspired by Kirby Super Star, from the SNES. However it does benefit from a larger screen size and an unlimited color palette. In this game, Sanae also has the fabled Copy Ability, by absorbing enemies with a whirly stick of sorts

This does have a bit more of a story however. Nothing groundbreaking, just the usual fun antics of the Touhou world and people. You may recognize a few faces if you're familiar with the series

One thing i didn't really enjoy that much is that this game doesn't really capture the feel of a Kirby game. But the music gives it a more distinct vibe, featuring many incredible, remixed Touhou tracks with a more Kirby feel. The game even has a Gourmet Race section that was the most Kirby moment of it all!

Overall a charming little experience that i'm excited to keep playing, and i hope you try some day

i just couldnt get the idea out of my head and ive already come up with so many concepts so screw it, im gonna try making it a game for kicks

while following OUR (yes our) king griffpatchs tutorial i found a bug that makes you stick to the ceiling and i thought "hey wouldnt it be cool for one of zotes abilities to be able to stick to the ceiling" and so i incorporated it lol
