Ghirapur by David Alvarez
“What are gontis?” Chandra, you dork <3
"We need to get across the river," Mrs. Pashiri said. Chandra furrowed her brow. "What's across the river? The old energy plants?" "Yes. And the words-kept secret in Ghirapur." She lowered her voice. "Gonti's." "What are gontis?" Chandra asked.
My money is on either an initial D secret lair or a fast and furious secret lair
"As exciting as wild new theories are, Ruxa knows they're worthless without a deep understanding of the basics. He teaches students of all levels, and even his most experienced pupils benefit massively from a much deeper understanding of the building blocks of the world."
Welcome to Muraganda 101
While we await the arrival of the Ghirapur Grand Prix, let's refresh our memory on what could be found there.
The ley mages and their glyph hunters actively search out these ancient carvings in an effort to learn secrets of the old world.
Dinosaurs roam the land but they are not at the top of the food chain.
Muraganda is home to a variety of Oozes who have taken up habitation in all of the plane's biomes. They come in all shapes and sizes and can easily make a meal out of a dinosaur.
The Speedbrood will likely do well in the Muragandan stretch of the GGP.
Ghirapur
The City of Wonders is built at the convergence of the three most important rivers of the plane. However, these rivers are not important for the city: the aether filtering in from the Blind Eternities is.
Aether manifests itself in the atmosphere, in blue twisting swirls which power the whole city and its living beings. Trunks of trees form horizontal spirals to leach as much power as possible from the winds. Flowers bloom in bucket-shaped blossoms to collect falling aether rain. Inventors, who are almost everyone in the city, imitate with great enthusiasm those natural forms for being the most efficient and the most beautiful. Lacking formal religions, their faith lies in those meticulous precepts.
The consequence is that in the City of Innovation, the Grigori feels that every new thing he sees he has seen before. Every building is similar to the others in its magnificence, every vehicle is similar in its speed and resistance and every artifacts is similar in its perfection. Creation based solely on optimism, happiness and hope, is condemned to be minor art. In sadness and in tragedy, in insurmountable defects and ugliness, in failure, is where true greatness sometimes throbs. In Ghirapur, none of that exists. From the vantage of the Aether Spire, the tallest building in the city, it´s peak among swirls of aether, nothing can be seen but the most unsatisfactory beauty.

Foundry in Ghirapur
In celebration of the Thoptocracy that is Ghirapur, I built a deck that functions as a Thopter factory. 4x Ancient Den 4x Seat of the Synod 4x Great Furnace Oh, Artifact Lands, you are so busted. They are doing their regular job of enabling affinity and metalcraft at no cost. 4x Mystic Monastery 2x Terramorphic Expanse 1x Plains 2x Island 1x Mountain Counting Terramorphics as a half a colored source, we have 10 W and R sources plus 11 U in the mana base. This is low, but still passable. Luckily we have: 4x Prophetic Prism 4x Galvanic Blast 4x Dispatch 4x Muddle the Mixture Metalcraft disruption! As soon as you achieve Metalcraft, you can handle pretty much any creature. Muddle covers the rest and acts as a tutor. 4x Thopter Foundry 4x Sword of the Meek Here is the main factory, good old Thopter Sword. 4x Thoughtcast 4x Thirst for Knowledge Traditional artifact draw spells. 4x Thopter Spy Network 2x Ghirapur Aether Grid The secondary factory isn't half bad though. Spy Network won't net as many Thopters as the foundry but still pulls through. The Aether Grid allows for quicker Thopter Sword kills but also does a good amount of board control with your Artifact Lands.
