Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan is for the emotionally repressed girlies who spent their entire teenage years in a small boring town seen as the unproblematic girl and dreaming to one day move out into the big city and do something you actually wanted to do since forever but unable to do so because of the fear of being judged or their parents disappointment. to finally settle in a place where people are more accepting and progressive and mind their own business so you could have your fun and express yourself better, to find bigger community where you could feel safe to be around people who are like you. to finally find a sense of self you feel confident in.
it was just a fun party song for me before I actually read the lyrics and see myself in it, except I haven't left "Tennessee" yet. I haven't manifested my "crazy visions in LA" yet. I haven't even gotten into the "Pink Pony Club" yet. so it's a sad song for me.
edit: THAT SONG ALSO REMINDS ME OF LADYBIRD
or maybe i was just projecting
