Something apocalyptic lies at the bottom of the ocean world. Could it be?
NGL, this guy looks like it'd be an underwater Sliver with how it holds its arms. I love the look of it.
Here is the entire Magic the Gathering schedule for 2027. They did not reveal anything about the 2027 Universes Beyond sets. As you can see though, they've added a fourth Magic Con.
The in-universe sets are:
Nauctis: the Sunken Realm, an entirely underwater set where humans are the aliens, releasing February 5th.
Kamigawa: Titanbreach, a planar war between Kamigawa and Ikoria, releasing June 4th.
Zhalfir, the first visit since its return to the multiverse. Mirrodin will have a bit of influence on the plane but Afrofantasy is the major influence. I already love it.
I'll have images in later posts, but there's your MTG for 2027.
A24 responds to claims they're copyright striking anything to do with the Backrooms. As long as they keep this mindset, they're good. I don't know how automated these copyright claims are, though. They'll have to keep an eye on this.
Info for Announcement Day 2027.
That's Friday, July 17th / 6:30pm Central European Time / 9:30am Pacific / 12:30pm Eastern.
WotC wants you to know The Hobbit debut panel is Saturday, but remember Friday is Announcement Day for the next three in-universe sets coming in 2027. That's what I've seen mentioned will be announced. I have no idea if the three Universes Beyond sets for 2027 will be touched upon.
Ya'll have fun with The Hobbit if that's your thing. I'll be doing everything I can to comb through the in-universe announcements.
The First Look for Magic the Gathering's next Universes Beyond crossover, Star Trek was today. The only colors I'm interested in are Rakdos. I think I'm experiencing set fatigue. I'm just not all with it for Star Trek even though I love the property, and I know I'm not even a bit there for The Hobbit. But, anyway, I hope the Borg Queen is one of the cards that make it into Arena. I guess that's one reason I'm not really excited. There were so many Marvel Super Heroes commander cards that weren't brought to Arena when so many others were. Maybe WotC will learn from that and just let Arena have all of Commander's Legendary Creatures.
I'm glad there's a card for these two, but... I'm really tired of the 'discard, draw' in red. Come on, this is Iceman and Firestar. This should be Tap for blue, Ping for red. Hell, it should be tap and stun counter for blue, and deal 1 or 2 damage for red. This could have been so much better.
My Typhoid Marys came in the mail today. Now I have all the black-red mutants in Magic the Gathering. It's a shame Kuja is tied to Wizard typal so much. You can probably run the rest of them in their own deck, though I bought Deadpool just for the sake of collecting. Definitely Shriek and Typhoid in the same deck.
Can I just say how much I've enjoyed playing the first two ladies here? Madame Null, Power Broker and Madame Hydra, Reanimated are awesome Brawl commanders. If you're willing to use life as a resource for the former and creatures for the latter, they're really good.
I haven't played Madame Masque yet. For one, Arena's being stingy with wildcards. I swear, Sundays used to be loaded with rewards. Not so much anymore. And two, you need to find ways to draw in black, which usually means sacrificing life or creatures just to draw cards. Plus, she costs five mana for a body that's similar to the other two. I'll have to wait and see once I get her into my collection.
If the Marvel Super Heroes set could have a character like Reptil, then I'm going to need Trauma in a future set. Whether it's a Marvel Magic-based set, Marvel Supernatural-based, or a Marvel Horror-based set, Trauma needs to get a card. If it's in the same set that Nightmare gets a card, even better.
Singe-Mind Ogre --- {2}{B}{R}
Creature — Ogre Mutant
When this creature enters, target player reveals a card at random from their hand, then loses life equal to that card’s mana value.
Even the balmgivers of Bant couldn’t heal the incurables, but sharing their torment helped.

I would like this to be reprinted so it can have the modern frame and look nice with the rest of the Rakdos colored mutants I will be playing.
I've never used a colorless Commander, but just because it's Molecule Man (with a Miracle ability), I just might have to try it out.
Typhoid Mary, Fractured ~~~ {1}{B}{R}
Legendary Creature — Mutant Villain
Whenever Typhoid Mary attacks, choose one at random. If you discarded a card this turn, you choose one instead.
• Mary — Create a Treasure token.
• Typhoid Mary — Draw a card.
• Bloody Mary — Each opponent loses 2 life and you gain 2 life.

A new black/red Mutant will come out in the Doom Prevails commander deck. Typhoid Mary is a random modal spell upon attack, but if you've discarded a card before you get to choose which mode triggers.
Well, Manapool had to refund my order of the Doom Prevails Marvel Commander Deck because of the distribution delays. I guess I'll have to wait until it actually releases to try to get one. It kinda sucks though, tbh.
