what kind of top surgery did you get aka. the one with the big or the one with the little scars? have you any after surgery tips for people who live alone?
hi there anon! I got the surgery with the “big” scars because the breast tissue was very “loose and flattened” because I wore my binder for so long. they had to make big cuts and relocate my nipples. my docter told me the scar would vanish under my muscles when they are healed but I probably wont feel anything in my nipples anymore. I’m totally fine with that tho.
I do live alone right now and I benefit from the fact that I prepared my appartment for the time after the surgery. everything I need is within reach so I dont have to climb on chairs and stuff. remember that you cant stretch your arms up! everything must be waist or breast high.
If you use to sleep on your stomach get used to sleep on your back and put two pillows on each side. that can prevent you from rolling over on your stomach at night and wake up in pain. buttoned shirts are perfekt. buy them if you have none.
If you have no other choice, wash your hair while kneeling in your shower or bathtub and bend over - be sure your dont get vertigo tho! you can buy scrubs on sticks (I really do not know the english word for them) to wash your back. use PHneutral soap.
take everything two times slower in the first weeks. you might have no pain, but your body is healing and you are WAY weaker than usual.
