Review Everything 8 - Ghostbuters Afterlife
So, for once, I got to watch a Franchisee Entry without knowing what The People On the Internet thought about it. I waited long enough to watch it that whatever “discourse” there might have been had no chance of effecting my enjoyment of this film.
And it was a fun movie! Post It I’ve become a fan of some of the kids in the movie, so it was cool to see them in something else that was similar but not too similar. I liked that the main character was a girl and that she loved science. I love that they characters from the original movie were sort of a force you felt throughout the whole movie without it just being about them for a third time. It was fun when they showed up for the finale. It was really, really cool seeing elements of the original film, like the ghosts themselves but mostly the Ecto-1, with the updated movie making tech we have now.
In Summary: it was a fun movie and a good overall addition to the franchise. I think this team has a lot of potential and I hope we get another movie with this same group of kids/characters.
Overall: 7 out of 10.
