Getting familiar with one's surroundings means exploring, but exploring means inevitable exhaustion when being here in the first place apparently means not being able to fly the way he's used to. Walking is tiring, as is relying on teleportation a lot more than he usually would. Human means of transportation are there, but they aren't a completely foolproof solution.
Peri finds an unoccupied patch of grass to flop down onto, only needing a rest but thinking with dramatic exaggeration that he might as well stay here forever. Yeah, that sounds good right now. He lays on his back with his arms splayed out, lamenting out loud to no one--or to anyone who happens to hear.
