The bitter cold air of the winter season was reason enough for one in this part of the region to wrap up, even if their trip was just a short distance. Thick jacket. Warm, sky blue scarf. A pair of surprisingly comfortable earmuffs. Even all of this would probably leave most people feeling frozen and vulnerable, but Touya easily adapted to cold weather. At least, he did with a little bit of help from these warm clothes.
Once he reached his destination, the local library, he pulled off his scarf and earmuffs, which he carefully placed inside his already stuffed bag. To say he came here often would be a lie, but there are a few times he's especially curious about something that he'll come here to learn more about it. He could just ask Professor Juniper in most of these cases, but he feels like that's cheating to some degree. It's better if he finds out the answers to his inquiries himself.
The particular topic he's interested in today is closely related to one he's come here for another time. This makes it easier for Touya to figure out where to begin searching for a book with the information he's looking for. Finding the section of the library with these books, he scans over the titles, occasionally pulling one off the shelf to read the back cover. This continues for one or two minutes before he finds a book he thinks will have what he wants to know.
Since he doesn't have a library card, he'll have to read it here. He has no problem with that, since the library is nice and warm, but the issue is finding a place to sit down. A majority of the tables are covered with stacks of books that must be volumes recently returned that still need to be put back on the shelves. Other tables are already occupied and since there's no empty sitting places, he'll just have to join someone.
A familiar face at one table catches his attention. It's Shauntal. Touya's only seen her once, but it was during the kind of thing that isn't easily forgotten, and she's a pretty unique girl herself. It's not surprising to find her at a library. He walks towards the table, stopping just beside it.
"Do you mind if I join you over here?" He speaks in a whisper, but considering he has no way of telling what the volume of his voice is, it may be just a little too quiet.
