Do you have a moment? || @silenceoftruth
Lucky! This alternate was definitely friendlier than some of the others she had met over the course of time. Of course even if he hadn’t been so nice and accepted her proposal of answering a few questions, she would have still bothered her for the sole reason that she liked interacting with other versions of herself— although the boy would probably really confused once she told him what was going on, eh? Oh well, for now she would just concentrate on the survey. Anything else could wait until later. Content with this decision, Touya smiled warmly up at the taller boy while she swayed cheerfully from side to side. Now they only needed a bench—
Oh, it seemed that the brunet had already found on that they could use. Immediately, her gaze followed his motion to the empty bench that simply seemed perfect for this little conversation, so obviously, the brunette nodded at once. “That looks great, I’m glad we could find an empty bench,” she chuckled, although she hesitated for a short moment before she took the lead and approached the object, flopping down on it with a quiet sigh that would hopefully go unnoticed by all means. She didn’t want to come across as insecure or uncertain of her actions right now. So far, whenever she showed the slightest bit of a lack of confidence, all people had turned her down in the end anyway. And just because he was an alternate didn’t mean he had to answer those silly questions, right? Either way, she quickly skimmed through her material again before she turned her attention back to the boy. “Um, w-well… Let’s start with the basics, I guess…?” Her pen tapped lightly against the paper, hazel eyes moved back and fourth between it and the trainer’s face. “I’m Touya, it’s really nice to m-meet you. And thank you for taking the time to answer my questions!”
That was good enough, right? The people at the agency had told her that it was the easiest to get into a conversation if she introduced herself as well. But if it was true, she couldn’t tell. As embarrassing as it was, but she hadn’t gotten this far yet. At least until now.
"…What’s next," she mumbled quietly, nodding quickly after giving the paper a short glance. "Um, what’s your name? And if you don’t mind, how old are you? I- I need that information for… statistical purposes. But- but if you don’t want to tell your real age, you could also just pick a false one! I- I really don’t care, I’m just glad that someone actually talks to me right now."
Touya followed the girl over to the bench and waited until she had taken a seat to do the same. It was a good thing that he was more patient than most people. It really couldn't be anymore obvious that no one else had taken the time to answer her survey questions, and it would be awful if at least one person didn't step away from their daily schedule for a moment to answer her questions, right? When the girl looked up from her papers and began to speak, he hardly expected her to say what she did. Her name was Touya? Well, that was a surprise. It did, however, clear up one thing for him. Now he was absolutely sure that he had never met this girl before in his life. After all, wouldn't he remember meeting a girl with the same name as him? That seemed like the sort of thing you wouldn't really forget easily, even if he didn't speak to her for long. At least he didn't need to worry about that anymore.
"That's funny. My name is Touya too." The brunet said with a smile, which he hoped was enough to help the girl calm down a bit. It was very obvious that she was still nervous. He couldn't blame her, really. It couldn't be an easy job to approach strangers in public and ask them questions about themselves. People react oddly to that sort of thing, for understandable reasons. He wouldn't ever want to do what she was doing.
"Don't worry about it. I don't mind telling you my real age." Touya continued after giving a quiet laugh. "I'm seventeen right now, but I'll turn eighteen later this year." He wasn't sure if that last bit was actually necessary, but he added it anyway. What ever this was for, the more specific and truthful information they received, the better their results would be, right? That was why he definitely wouldn't lie about anything right then, whether it was about something as silly as his age or not. He had no clue what this whole survey was about, and therefore what the results would be used for, but how awful would it be if he messed up someone's research?
