Fandral had been teasing him about the uniform for weeks now and he'd finally decided to take the man up on his offer of combat training. Not that he really needed it but if it finally shut the other man up he'd do it. Of course, training with him meant something other than fists and his shield. Swords hadn't ever been his strength; he'd seen Thor use his hammer and remembered him mentioned swords but it hadn't been required training for him. And he'd thought he could actually handle fighting with real swords and not training ones. The scrapes he'd picked up along the way would heal and no one would know how all of this played out. Or at least he'd hoped they wouldn't. He felt the blade slip past his defence and felt it pierce his skin. For a moment he brushed it off, turning his back to the other and waving him off. Except he knew he might not walk away from this training exercise.
