patcap idea: Cap, fresh from the war, is forced to take over and live in his late great-aunt's decrepit mansion after finding his own house bombed in the blitz. While aimless and miserable, he meets Pat, the cheery man grounds keeper who is determined to do his job of caring for the grounds and filling the house with flowers, regardless of whether the Captain wants him too or not, just as he promised Cap's great aunt. After a rocky start, the two become closer, and Captain starts to open up, not just to Pat but the other villagers, and life itself. As summer blooms, Captain drops his title, starts working towards becoming an lepidopterist, and invites Pat to move into Button Manor
