I got this prompt a bit ago from @lycaclientt ! I always love some good ol’ found family and angst so here’s a little one shot about it!
also I’ve been pretty busy lately so my next writing pieces (chapters for something to remember and our little brother) may take longer than expected to come out but have this while you wait! :)
tw ~ misunderstanding, grabbing, unintentional fear play, talk of humans, angst (it gets better tho)

“IM NOT LIKE YOU, IM HUMAN!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fundy knew that he’d never had a normal childhood. He didn’t even have a family until Wilbur had found him when he was five. Of course, that didn’t make his life any more normal.
Wilbur was a borrower.
Fundy didn’t care about that, though. Wilbur was still his father, even if he could fit in the palm of his hand.
It had all started when the thunderstorm did. Years ago, there was a thunderstorm that scared him so badly that he had left the safety of his box in an alleyway and tried to find some form of shelter from this terrifying storm.
Eventually, he had stumbled into an old abandoned house. It was easy to sneak into when the door was falling off its hinges already. Rain pelted against the cracked windows as Fundy tried finding any place in the house to muffle the sounds blaring in his sensitive ears. He had passed the kitchen and dining room. They were too open, too many windows showcasing the sudden blasts of light outside.
Fundy ended up stopping in the living room and huddling up on the old dusty couch. It looked rat infested with holes in the fabric and foam, but he couldn’t complain.
He fell asleep after a few minutes but he could’ve never expected what happened next.
Apparently, once he’d gone to sleep, a large colony of borrowers came from the walls. They didn’t seem to react so kindly when they noticed a human walking around their safe haven.
Later in his life, Fundy would hear about how eager his colony was to get rid of him back then. Luckily, one borrower in the colony thought differently.
Wilbur soot.
His father.
Not biologically, of course, but as soon as Wilbur saw the scruffy, dirty human child, he fell in love and knew he couldn’t let anything happen to him.
From that day forward, Fundy became part of the colony. Well, at least to Wilbur, he was. Everyone else didn’t like him very much, either completely untrusting or scared of him.
However, once they realized how valuable he was, able to do things more efficiently and faster than any borrower, more of the colony accepted him.
Even as a child, Fundy was able to farm in the backyard easily because of his size.
Even over a decade later, Fundy was able to farm easily because of his size. But he didn’t want to.
Can you blame him? It just got so boring after a few years.
When Wilbur gave him one of the rooms in the old house and helped him get clean and have food, Fundy started to look like an average kid.
Eventually, he found a school and friends, just like a normal kid. Everything was how he dreamed it would be.
Until he went home.
Home to his colony in an old house where he had to do his chores, gardening and doing whatever else they couldn’t do just because he was human.
It was fine, though. Until Wilbur grounded him for seeing his friends.
All he wanted to do was go out with his friends so when Wilbur said no for no reason, he snuck out, let any other teenager would!
Wilbur found out when he’d been seen sneaking into his bedroom window and made the colony think there was an intruder. The leaders were very angry that the colony was put on lockdown for a false human intrusion. But nothing compared to how Wilbur felt.
He was angry, Fundy could tell just by his posture, and the stern look on his face confirmed it.
His dad tried yelling at him, scolding him for risking himself and scaring the colony… it only heated up from there.
“We’ll it’s not like I have to try hard to scare the colony.”
“What is that supposed to mean, Fundy?”
“I mean, look at me! I don’t belong here. "
“Of course you do. You’re my son. "
“I’m only here because I’m useful! Otherwise I would’ve been thrown out years ago!”
“That’s not true… I wanted you to be my son because I love you. It doesn’t matter what your size is…”
Wilbur started to get nervous. In all the years Fundy had been with him, he’d never acted out like this. Wilbur watched as Fundy crossed his arms, subconsciously moving closer to his small father, looming over him. Wilbur…
Wilbur was scared.
Scared of his son.
Scared of what his son could do to him.
“Fundy…I-I think you should go to your room… to calm down. "
Fundy didn’t listen.
“It does matter what my size is, I’m not a borrower, dad! I’m not part of the colony!”
Fundy moved closer, only a few inches from Wilbur, before he bent down and reached for his father, looking so small compared to his hand.
“I’m what the colony is supposed to hide from!”
Wilbur felt the giant fingers wrap around his waist as his son lifted him off the ground.
Fundy pulled his father inches from his face.
“IM NOT LIKE YOU, IM HUMAN!”
Wilbur flinched hard at his loud voice. Fundy could feel the fluttering of his small heart against his fingertips.
Fundy looked down at his father, struggling helplessly in his hand, and his eyes widened.
“D-dad?”
Wilbur’s eyes snapped to his. They were full of fear while his struggles continued.
Then Fundy realized… in all the years that he’s been with the colony, he’s never held a borrower before, and the feeling of holding his father’s life in his hands made him realize just how small he really was.
“Fundy, p-please put me down.”
His father pleaded with him, and a wave of guilt and remorse crashed into him. He slowly lowered Wilbur to the ground, watching him stumble back as soon as he was set on even ground.
Fundy opened his mouth to speak, but no sound came out. He didn’t know what he could say.
The only thing Fundy could think to do in that moment was stand to his full height and walk to his room, closing the door behind him.
It took Wilbur a few minutes to calm himself down, but soon he was walking to Fundy’s door. He’s ashamed to say he hesitated to ring the bell that announced Fundy of his presence.
Fundy’s door opened but not to the terrifying human Wilbur expected to see… instead it was his son, teary-eyed and seeming smaller than Wilbur ever thought he could be. Like he was a little scared homeless kid again.
Wilbur’s heart melted at the sight, beckoning him closer as Fundy leaned down, kneeling on the floor to hear what his father came to say.
“Fundy…”
There was a slight waver in his voice when he spoke and Fundy caught it, his shoulders dropping more.
“Come here… you’re okay,”
Wilbur reached his arms up in the air, not unlike a toddler asking to be picked up. Fundy was confused but very carefully scooped his father up in an open palm, as if waiting for a protest.
When none came, he slowly brought his hand closer to his chest until Wilbur reached out and grabbed at the fabric of his shirt.
To any normal human, it would just look like a teenager holding his hand to his chest, but looking closer, you’d see a purring borrower cupped carefully in shaking hands, holding onto the fabric of a baggy band shirt like his life depended on it.
“I-I’m so sorry, dad”
“I know… it’s okay, I’m right here… I’m not going anywhere, I promise.”
Fundy seemed to shake more at that. He’d acted out and almost hurt him. He’d yelled at him and grabbed him… yet his father seemed completely relaxed in his hands now, held against his chest.
Tears fell from his eyes as he squeezed his hand to his chest so very gently to press his father closer to himself… he’s never hugged Wilbur before, there was always a slight barrier between them, always slightly distant, shying from each others touch.
But now, being so close, both of them thought that maybe it wasn’t so bad… maybe they’d have to do this more often.
Slowly Fundy drifted off while leaning against the wall, still holding Wilbur in his hands. Soon after Wilbur saw this, he too closed his eyes and slept, head resting against where he could feel his son’s heartbeat.
It was the best both of them had slept in a long time, and if Wilbur started going to Fundy’s room before bed after that, no one said anything.
hope you enjoyed, it was bit hard to write since there was so many ways it could’ve gone but I’m happy with how it turned out :D
Today marks the 1 year anniversary of this blog, so to celebrate, for the first time in AGES… HERE’S A FIC!
Nothin too special or original.. just some giant!slime happening to find a tiny!quackity and uh… yeah y’all know the drill ☺️
C/Ws: vore, sorta fearplay, mouthplay blah blah blah all of that
Great. Just fantastic. Of course he managed to piss off all the wrong people, and get himself shrunk down. Quackity sighed. It wasn’t the first time it’d happened, and knowing his luck? It sure as hell wouldn’t be the last. He hoped, even with his shit luck, that he wouldn’t run into any of the wrong people, ones he’d pissed off or not. In fact, he had just decided that he did not want to see anybody until he had returned to his normal height, which was convenient timing to hear that familiar enthusiastic voice behind him.
“Hello Quackity from Las Nevadas! …you are Quackity from Las Nevadas, right?” The one time he did not want to see Slime. Again. Just fantastic. Quackity turned around to see the goopy man kneeling down to get a good look at him.
“Oh good! I knew it was you!” Quackity did admire how, no matter the circumstances, Slime always had that bright sparkle of life in his eye, even behind glasses. It never faded away, and it was the one thing that made him look remotely human. Still, as much as he admired the good spirits the slime hybrid possessed, he’d have to crush them here and now.
The thing was, Quackity had, in the little time and privacy that he got, researched on Slime’s species after the last time he’d been shrunk, and Slime had been acting oddly around him. He’d found out that slime hybrids were prone to experiencing intense predatory instincts, especially towards those of smaller species. What that essentially meant was Slime could and would eat him then and there, mercilessly. Slime wouldn’t have any idea what he was doing either, and slime hybrids, when they spot a vulnerable prey, intentionally or not, could very easily persuade that prey into doing exactly what they want. He didn’t exactly fear Slime, but he knew he needed to stay away from him.
“Look, Slime. I need to be away from people until this stupid fucking potion wears off. No offence, but that still most definitely includes you, and I hate to say it ‘n all, but especially you.” Slime frowned, not really understanding.
“But… you need me to take you back to Las Nevadas, don’t you? I mean, it’d take ages for you to get anywhere at that height!”
There it was, Quackity noted. The subtle persuasion. And although he hated to say it, Slime was right. Where they were currently? Ages away from anywhere, and that problem would be quintupled for Quackity.
“I… suppose you’re right. Take me back with you then.” Quackity tried to ignore his own instincts screaming to run away as he climbed onto the slime hybrid’s hand. To his slight surprise though, Slime didn’t act upon any instinct he may or may not have been having either, and instead walked at a leisurely pace while babbling about god-knows-what.
Quackity took that as an opportunity to get lost in his own thoughts. Well, he was certainly having thoughts of jumping off Slime’s palm, but that would even more certainly break every bone in his body if he did so. So he ruled that possibility out. Or maybe, just maybe, he’d manage to get all the way back to Las Nevadas without being eaten - or better yet - until he was back to his normal height. Quackity didn’t want to just wait to see how things played out, but it was pretty much the only thing he could do.
He had been lost in his thoughts for so long that he hadn’t even noticed his slimy companion going silent. His walking had slowed a little, too.
“You okay-”
Slime quickly cut him off.
“Have you ever wondered what it’s like to have someone inside of you, Quackity?” No use of full name. Definitely suspicious. He scoffed nervously.
“Depends uh… what type you mean.”
“I think you know exactly what I mean.”
There was a long pause.
“I suppose not.. not really. No.”
“I think about it a lot, Quackity.” His expression was unreadable. Blank.
“Was there a point in asking me this?”
Slime suddenly tightened and readjusted his grip, holding Quackity tightly in his fist. The duck man had the air knocked out of him, now he could barely breathe at all.
“S-slime please let me go- you have no idea what you’re doing!”
“Sure. I can let you go.”
Slime held Quackity over his mouth. It was then that the winged man noticed that the slime hybrid was drooling. Panic swept over him in that moment. How long had he been suppressing this??
“Oh shit- not like that!” Quackity yelled out, but it was already too late. Slime had already dropped him in his mouth. And it was a lot more… wet than he had expected - but then again - he wasn’t sure what he had expected anyway.
He didn’t have time to ask himself that, though, as the even wetter tongue immediately assaulted him: spinning him around, licking him all over, pinning him to the roof of his mouth - Slime was clearly enjoying himself. The loud rumbling of the slime hybrid’s stomach made him even more nervous. He couldn’t taste that good… could he?
Things were going quite fast though. Before he knew it, he was being swallowed to the growling depths below. He tried to squirm frantically, but it made no difference, other than making Slime purr. Was Slime walking now? Maybe. Quackity couldn’t really tell. All he knew was that he wanted to get out of there. He didn’t even know how safe he was, but based off of the situation at hand, he assumed that he wasn’t safe at all.
He chose to fight back rather than wait to find out. He shoved at a stomach wall, but all that happened was his hand going into the stomach wall. Quackity hadn’t even considered that was possible. He would’ve thought that was cool, if it weren’t for the fact he was incredibly scared for his life.
What wasn’t cool was that he could feel Slime patting at him. The fuck? Did he really have to rub it in (punintended 😛)?
So he was trapped in here and he couldn’t struggle? Fantastic.
~~~woo timeskip of 2 hours my bestie~~~
After what seemed like decades later, the walking stopped, then a slight gravity shift occurred. Quackity hadn’t even noticed or cared, he was just so bored of being trapped in this little space. Around ten minutes passed with nothing happening. Then, a hand plunged into Slime’s stomach, and poked around until it found the duck man. This, Quackity did notice. The hand grabbed him, and it was then that Quackity realised it wasn’t a hand at all, but a paw. A fox paw. Fundy had come to save him? How did he even know Quackity was there?
Fundy not-so-gently yanked Quackity out of there. Fundy’s paw and the whole of the duck man were coated in green slime. He patted Fundy’s paw as a non-verbal thanks, before looking around for Slime. He was asleep on a chair. Bastard.
(We are NOT going to talk about how I didn’t proofread this… okay)
Heeeey I finally finished the first chapter of my superhero AU! I'm also going to be posting this on AO3 early with additional easter eggs! Mainly little messages you can decode
Tubbo flexed his fingers, double checking to make sure his new suit upgrades functioned and wouldn't have to worry about getting hurt. He took aim with his left arm at some old soda cans he had kept, and frowned when nothing came out of the small dispenser that was supposed to shoot out tiny darts. The brunet removed the armor piece from his arm and opened up the circuit board looking everything over and trying to figure out what was wrong this time.
Tubbo plugged the device into his computer and ran diagnostics, hoping to find out what the problem was. He had been out of action for a week now, and if he didn't get back out on the streets and start helping the heroes again he was never going to make a name for himself! Stupid weird electric villain frying his entire suit.
Suddenly, there was a very loud pigeon outside of his window cooing and ruffling their feathers trying to get his attention. Tubbo simply ignored the bird, focusing on his suit repairs. He then wheeled over to the wall next to his bed on his computer chair, knocking on it.
"Tommy! Your mail’s here!" he watched as the borrower poked his head out of one of the many secret doors in his walls and climbed out running across his bed and heading towards the window.
"It's early today! Have there been any big fights with the heroes and villains in town?" Tommy asked as he used a makeshift ladder to get up to the windowsill crawling out onto the flower bed and opening up the small container on the pigeon's back taking out his mail, he quickly came back inside climbing a short ladder up to one of the shelves that went halfway around Tubbo's room.
Tubbo unlocked his phone screen and started checking the news.
"Nope, there haven't been any fights between heroes and villains today. Maybe something else happened?" He reached up to the end of the shelf that hung over his desk as Tommy jumped off, into his hand.
Tommy started sorting through the mail with a small frown on his face as Tubbo carefully set him down next to the laptop. He let out a deep sigh his ears pinning against his head
"There are more missing people's posters… even worse they're all in green zones!"
"More missing borrowers?" Tubbo used one of the tweezers on his desk to carefully pick up one of the missing flyers, he grabbed his magnifying glass and started reading the paper over. "This is the 40 person? How are that many borrowers going missing and no one's found them?"
"Yeah- five more people just went missing in the middle of the night and no one has any idea what happened, it's starting to get more concerning considering they're going missing in green zones…and two of them were really close to where we are." Tommy continued to go through the other papers looking for some sort of good news and smiled "But! King Karl has finally green lighted adopting stray dogs into the colony in training them to help keep us safe from cats, so if these borrowers just got eaten and no one saw, hopefully people will stop going missing soon!"
'That doesn't really sound any better' Tubbo thought to himself as he went back to working on his suit, he aimed the robotic arm at the soda cans, and finally, one of the small darts that was loaded into it shot out hitting the empty soda can "Yes! Now I'll just have to do a test flight to make sure my wings still work then I can go on patrol tonight-"
Tubbo jumped to his feet as he heard loud screaming outside his bedroom window and the sound of cars crashing, he quickly ran over to the window poking his head outside, and gasped- it was that weird slime villain that had shown up recently! The brunet started suiting up quickly getting into his gear. He can do his test fly right now! Those people outside needed help!
"Tommy-" "On it!" Tommy quickly ran across the desk and climbed into a small hole in the wall disappearing, Tubbo quickly put his helmet on reassured that his small friend would be safe, and climbed out of his bedroom window onto the balcony. The brunette took in a deep breath and activated his wings quickly lifting off into the air, he hovered backward and then quickly took off diving straight towards the slime villain.
Tubbo switched out his antenna for his ram horns and slammed right into the slime villain's chest knocking him to the ground and away from some civilians he had cornered, he quickly backed away having his boots switched to their roller skates as the slime creature slowly got up. Tubbo smiled getting ready to ram into the slime villain again, he had his visor start running a scan on the creature trying to find his weak point.
The brunette jumped back avoiding the creature's slimy hand as it launched it towards him and let out a gurgling noise in annoyance, the slime creature grabbed a nearby bicycle and chucked it at Tubbo almost hitting him in the head. Tubbo's visor finally finished its scan and what it found concerned him.
'Weakness discovered. The small life form in the center of the creature's chest must be removed and the slime will start to lose its consistency' "What is the small life form?" Tubbo asked quickly dodging another bicycle that was thrown at his head 'It appears to be a borrower. No hybrid traits detected.' How the fuck did a borrower do Slime-kinesis!? Fuck could the poor guy even breathe in there!?
Tubbo pointed his right arm to the ground as a Long blade emerged from it and ran forward, slicing straight down the outside of the creature's chest and removing the flimsy fabric that wrapped around its chest, the blade quickly disappeared as he pulled his arm back and quickly punched right in the middle of the giant slime creatures chest. Tubbo pressed his feet against the flying creature's chest as he got a hold of the small borrower and started desperately trying to pull them out.
"Let. Them. Go." Tubbo demanded as he activated the boosters on his boots and sent himself flying backward from the slime as it started dissolving and slowly dripping into the sewer grates nearby, he held the borrower close to his chest as he tried catching his breath and the loud cheers of the civilians around him rang. When Tubbo heard the nearby police sirens he quickly took off into the air and started making his way towards Kinoko Park.
The brunette gently rubbed the borrower’s back with his thumb as they flew through the air trying to lose the cops. Tubbo really hoped the poor guy was still alive- prime he really hoped they were alive.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tubbo quickly walked down the street towards his aunt's bakery keeping his left hand in his pants pocket and resting his thumb on the borrower's chest so he could keep track of their breathing, he slowly opened the door making sure the bell attached to it didn't go off and started making his way upstairs. The brunette reached for the doorknob of his room as a hand reached out and grabbed his shoulder.
"Tubbo Underscore Fluff." Tubbo slowly turned his head, already cowering as he looked into his aunt Niki's eyes "Where the hell have you been? Hm? Did you by chance go outside to get a closer look at the villain that was out there today?"
"Whaaat? Mee? Pfff- no! No, I would never do that! That's so dangerous and I could get seriously hurt aND WHY ARE YOU PICKING ME UP!?" Tubbo started squirming as his aunt picked him up and started carrying him downstairs towards the kitchen, he spotted Fundy and Jack walking into the bakery also equally looking pissed off at him. Oh yeah, he's in trouble.
"Do you know how worried we were!? Jack and Fundy, we're running up and down the streets for an hour trying to find you!" Niki finally set Tubbo down in one of the stool chairs by one of the taller tables in the bakery "Now tell me the truth of where you were or I swear to prime above you will never leave this house again!"
Tubbo stared down at the ground trying to think of some kind of excuse but only had one idea come to mind, he took a deep breath and looked up at Niki "I did follow the heroes when they went after the slime creature…I-I just wanted to try and help…"
Niki pinches the brain over her nose looking away from Tubbo "Why do you have to be so much like her..?" She walked into the kitchen waving at Fundy and Jack "Make sure he doesn't run off while I make dinner, Tubbo you can head back to your room." Tubbo quickly stood up and hugged Fundy and Jack as an apology and then quickly ran up to his room, closing and locking the door behind him.
"Tommy, come out I need your help. I found a hurt borrower." Tubbo said out loud as he knocked on the wall behind his desk and carefully pulled the unconscious borrower out of his pocket, he grabbed a small pillow from his bed and set the unconscious borrower down on it as Tommy ran out of the walls with a Medicaid and started looking the borrower over.
"He seems ok, a few small bruises but besides that he's okay! Where did you find him?" Tommy asked as he started bandaging up one of the bigger bruises on the borrower's arm.
"You're not going to believe this big man but he was inside of that slime monster on the street earlier today, for some reason the slime was sticking together and using him as an anchor to stay solid." Tubbo explained as he turned on his laptop and activated the tracker on his gear he had ditched in the park, he reached into his drawer and opened a small bag of Cheez-Its putting them next to the small pillow Tommy and the mysterious borrower were. "Do you recognize that borrower at all? What if he's one of the borrowers that went missing recently?"
"Hmm let me go see!" Tommy climbed off of the pillow running over to the roll up drawer that had a small ladder inside of it and climbed up into his private investigating area, he went over to his small bulletin board with all the missing peoples' pictures and started trying to find a match between the mysterious borrower. Tubbo slowly lifted up the wooden frame that looked like other drawers on the dresser looking inside of Tommy's private room.
Tommy inspected each and every single missing borrower poster not finding a match for the unknown borrower, he walked over to the edge of his hidden room and shook his head looking up at Tubbo. "There aren't any posters for him missing, maybe he just fell into a bunch of weird slimy goo and gave it sentience?"
"I don't think that's how it works but it is a possibility, how long do you think he's going to be unconscious?" Tubbo asked as he looked over at the sleeping borrower, noticing as their chest started rising and falling a bit quicker than normal.
"Oh they're already awake, they're just pretending to be unconscious!" Tommy confirmed to Tubbo, noticing that he could also see the borrower's horrible attempt at hiding his panic, the two watched the borrower suddenly set up right, looking at Tommy like he was an absolute idiot.
"What the fuck are you doing kid-" the unknown blonde borrower asked squinting his eyes at Tommy.
"Have you not realized the two of us live together? Like we literally share this room together and obviously have known each other for a while?" Tubbo asked in a quiet voice, doing his best not to start all the borrowers.
"Shut it human, this is a discussion between borrowers!" The blonde yelled as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small pair of handmade glasses that had a crack on one of the lunges, he quickly put the glasses on and slowly stood up on the pillow marching his way over to the ladder and climbing up into the small room Tommy was in.
Tubbo looked over at Tommy seeing if he needed any help and gave the brunette a thumbs up letting him know it was fine and it was okay if he left the room so they had some privacy to talk, Tubbo nodded his head and closed the small room off is he stood up and walked out of his room starting to head downstairs to see if dinner was ready.
Fundy stood at the bottom of the stairs holding a large and heavy looking double bag under his arm and having his usual annoyed look on his face, Tubbo reached the bottom of the stairs and held his arms out taking the heavy double bag.
"I didn't ask you to go get my gear…" Tubbo mumbled out as he looked down at the ground trying to avoid Fundy's eyes.
"Oh I'm sorry, do you want your stuff to get stolen? You know what kind of dirt bags would love to get their hands on equipment like that." Fundy stated as he crossed his arms glaring down at Tubbo "I agreed to keep this a secret from Niki and help you run around and pretend to be a hero but that doesn't mean I'm going to let you get away with being irresponsible."
Tubbo just rolled his eyes quickly, taking the double bag up to his room and placing it on The ground inside, leaving as quickly as he had reentered, he could hear the other borrower yelling at Tommy but knew his friend could handle it. He quickly made his way back over to Fundy glaring at him a little "Look I was a bit in a rush to get back here- plus I left it in Kinoko Park, literally no scumbags hang out around there so it would have been fine for a few hours."
"Yeah yeah sure, you still shouldn't be leaving your gear out in the open and random areas where people can steal it." Fundy started making his way towards the kitchen, obviously wanting to end the argument there, Tubbo simply grumbled to himself as he grabbed two plates out of the cupboard and handed one to Fundy. Man, sometimes he really didn't like his cousin.
"Tubbo- oh you're already down here that's good, help yourself to what's on the stove and come eat in the dining room with me and Jack." Niki said as she poked her head into the kitchen and then quickly headed back out to the dining room to eat her dinner, Tubbo patiently waited for Fundy to go and waited until he was out of the kitchen to reach back into the covered area, grabbing a much smaller plate.
Tubbo put a small bit of Tommy's favorite foods from dinner onto the plate and hid it behind the large sugar jar so Tommy could safely get the food and not be in danger of being seen, hopefully his friend would still have an appetite after being lectured.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!?" Charlie, the mysterious borrower from earlier, yelled at Tommy as he paced back and forth, absolutely flabbergasted and basically foaming at the mouth. "Are you stupid or something!? Did you hit your head and forget the ru-"
"No, I haven't forgotten the rules." Tommy started glaring at the blonde haired borrower and watching as he walked over and started yelling again.
"THEN WHY ARE YOU LIVING WITH A HUMAN!? A HUMAN OF ALL GIANTS! COULDN'T YOU HAVE AT LEAST CHOSEN A HYBRID!?" Charlie screeched as he took a few steps away from Tommy. It took in a few deep breaths trying to come down. "How long have you lived with this human? 2 years? 3 years?"
"More like 10 years now." Tommy started watching as the borrower slowly turned around and looked over at him absolutely horrified and disgusted.
"... Say psych right now there is no way you've lived that long with a human and you're not dead yet." Charlie stated as he walked over to Tommy and grabbed him by the shoulders "Tell me the truth right now kid this isn't funny."
"I am telling you the truth! Geez what is with you older borrowers and not listening to us younger ones it's sooo annoying!" Tommy complained as he pushed Charlie away and walked over to a small door opening it up and climbing into the walls, he followed the chalk symbols on the walls slowly making his way towards the kitchen and not really waiting for the older borrower.
Charlie didn't really say anything as they walked through the tunnels flinching a few times when you heard the other humans in the house laugh or talking a bit louder then the borrower must have not been used to, once they got to the kitchen Charlie walked out first forcing Tommy to stay in the walls a bit as he checked to make sure there were no humans there.
"...Tubbo is keeping them distracted for us we don't need to-" Tommy but suddenly stressed by the older borrower as he poked his head out from behind the sugar jar, man having this guy around was going to be a pain.
Charlie finally nodded his head deciding that it was safe and gave Tommy a thumbs up telling him that it was safe to come out now, the blonde rolled his eyes as he walked over to the small plate of food and started putting it into his bag knowing he probably wouldn't be allowed to just eat out in the open.
"I grabbed some food for you too so we can go, I'll show you where my home is in the walls." Tommy explained as he headed back into the walls and patiently waited for Charlie to join him, he watched as the borrower nervously checked to the door making sure it was properly closed and no one would notice the small cracks and lines that reveal the small piece of wood. This borrower definitely had some bad interaction with humans.
The two borrowers started walking down the tunnel traveling in silence until Charlie finally spoke up.
"...The human really does care about you huh? The food was hidden in a really good spot where we wouldn't be seen and there was way more than enough for at least four borrowers, do the other humans in the house know about you?"
Tommy shook his head as he rounded a corner and started climbing up an old rope ladder that led to the top floor, he went slowly making sure not to shake the ladder as Charlie started climbing up behind him. "Nope! He understands I don't really want to meet the other humans in the house, plus he understands pretty well why humans can't know about us existing so he's never really asked me to meet the other humans."
"Huh I'm surprised a human actually understands that…you got really lucky kid." The way Charlie said that made Tommy concerned, as if he knew from experience how some Humans could be.
"Yeah I did…have you ever known humans before-"
"No. I haven't." Charlie answered quickly, cutting Tommy off as they reached the top of the ladder and continued their walk towards the blonde's home, Tommy tried thinking of a new conversation knowing for a fact they weren't going anywhere with that.
"Do…do you have somewhere safe to go Charlie? A lot of the districts have changed in safety and there's been a lot of missing cases. I can help you get two Kinoko Park if you want to go there." Tommy asked as he held the curtain to his home open watching Charlie walk over to his kitchen table and headed into the kitchen grabbing two plates for their food.
Charlie didn't answer obviously deep in thought as he slowly started to eat once the plate of food was set down in front of him. Tommy sat down across from him as he also started to eat patiently waiting for an answer.
"...How many borrowers are missing now?" Charlie finally asked, looking over at Tommy.
"40 are missing now, 12 from red districts and 28 from green districts. Two recently went missing near here…" Tommy answered as he finished up his own food "There's no residue of them being eaten by cats or hawks and none of them were in areas where a frog could have gotten them, they've just completely disappeared without a trace."
Charlie took a deep breath and let out a long sigh "Ok…I'm going to help you find those borrowers."
Tommy's ears perked up at that as he slowly stood up a smile on his face and his tail flicking back and forth "You well? Oh my prime- are you one of the borrowers that went missing? You must be someone that wasn't registered-"
"There's 60 borrowers missing. I…I remember I was taken with 20 other borrowers, we were slowly collected over the course of a few days I think in a red district." Charlie explained staring down at the table and looking like he was pained to remember any of this.
Tommy gathered up the dirty dishes and started walking towards the kitchen "That sounds absolutely horrible…we should go report this to King Karl-"
"No!" Charlie yelled, quickly grabbing the blonde's arm and causing one of the plastic plates to fall to the ground "No. We can't tell anyone in the colony about this yet, if they find out someone is purposely capturing us they might send out more borrowers to investigate. I would just result in more people getting captured!"
Tommy shook his arm free from the borrower, his raccoon ears pinning against his head as he protested "But- but we can't just not do something! 5 kids were recently taken- kids Charlie!"
"Yes but if these people get their hands on more borrowers they might eventually find the colony. I don't fully remember what they did to me but they're the reason I was in that weird slime stuff, the best we can do is just gather evidence and find out what they're doing on our own." Charlie tried reassuring Tommy as he took the dirty plates from the kid and headed towards the small kitchen. "Please think logically about this kid, we can't risk more borrowers going missing."
Tommy stood in the middle of the dining room slowly making his way over to the door that let out Tubbo's room, he called over his shoulder saying that he was going to step out for a minute and find out onto the bookshelf right above his best friend's bed.
A few minutes later Tubbo thankfully came back into the room walking into his closet and quickly changing into his pajamas heading over to his bed and flopping down onto it, Tommy quickly jumped down from the bookshelf landing on a pillow right next to Tubbo's head and climbed up onto the human's forehead sitting down on it.
"You ok Tommy?" Tubbo asked as he did his best to look up at his small friend.
"No…can I stay with you tonight? The new borrower is going to be staying here for a bit but I kind of want to stay close to you with how many borrowers have been going missing." Tommy explained as he leaned over looking into one of Tubbo's eyes.
The brunette slowly reached up wrapping his hand around Tommy's abdomen and slowly bringing him down to his chest holding his clothes to it and slowly curling around the borrower, Tommy closed his eyes slowly starting to fall asleep.
"You'll be safe Tommy, I won't let anything take you from me." Tubbo said in a sleepy voice as he patted Tommy on the head "See you in the morning big man."
With that Tommy quickly fell asleep hugging one of Tubbo's fingers and genuinely feeling safe, well Tubbo slowly climbed out of his bed and got onto his laptop starting to do some research. He was going to keep his promise and make sure nothing could ever take Tommy from him.
Tubbo was never going to let anything else take his family from him.
Wilbur was on his way to his father’s house, but he decided to stop at a park, so that his son could run around a bit.
But when he went to sit down on a bench, he noticed something peculiar. Next to him was a jacket, and it appeared to be, moving? He looked around, and apart from his son, there was only a tall man wearing a suit just running around. (Was there something in his hair? Nah probably not.)
So Wil picked up the jacket and checked out the pocket. He had vague notions that maybe a tiny mer had been dried out, but he hadn’t actually expect for their to be one in there! He let out a small gasp as his hand wrapped around a small body, which turned out to be a small teen with blonde hair. He was shaking, Wilbur wouldn’t be surprised if it was out of fear. “Don’t worry little mer, you’re safe now.” But the fear disappeared, and was replaced with, anger?
“Oi Bitch! You better fucking put me down or I’ll kill you!” The small blonde shouted up at the human, surprising him. “Hey, calm down prick i’m trying to help you!” He set the tiny teen on the bench table, and just kinda stared at him. Both men seemed unsure of what to do next. “How did you get here?” Wil broke the silence, “I mean, if someone took you from the ocean then they must’ve-“ The blonde interrupted, “The fuck do you mean ocean?” Now it was Wilbur’s turn to be confused. “What, but, you’re a mer aren’t you?” He asked.
“What the hell is a ‘Mer’?!” That was when the tall teen from earlier walked over, Wil could see his eyes widen as they reached for the small teen. Wilbur wasn’t sure what came over him. Even though he had just met the teen, he felt an overwhelming sense, that he should protect him. He batted the tall man’s hand away cupped his own over the blonde, scooting him away from the man. “You fuck off! You can’t hurt them!” He yelled at the tall teen. “Fucking get your hands off me bitch!”
Ranboo was getting ticked off. He was glad that Micheal was at Puffy’s, he didn’t want the baby to see what he was about to do to this man if he hurt Tommy- But his thoughts were cut off by Tubbo, who was riding in his hair. It was a strange sensation for a small teen to slide down your forehead and stand on your nose like it was a slanted floor. “I BEG YOUR FUCKING PARDON BITCH!” Tubbo just started RIPPING into the man. And while Tubs was talking a bit too fast for the man to understand, he seemed to get the gist of what he was saying.
The man released Tommy, and after picking him up to see if he was okay, they left the park. The next day though, they realized that the man in question lived two houses down from them, so they assumed that he’d be a problem. But he wasn’t. Because he actually came by their house and apologized. They were just sitting at the kitchen table having a nice breakfast when he knocked on the door. Ranboo told Tommy and Tubbo, naturally, to hide, before answering the door. He was surprised to see the man from yesterday, but was instantly on the defensive just in case he tried anything.
“Hey, I just wanted to apologize about yesterday… I didn’t realize that you were friends with the mer-“ He cut himself off, like he had been hit by something in his jacket. “Excuse me, Borrower.” Ranboo’s eyes widened slightly, how did this guy know what Borrowers were? “My names Wilbur,” he said, holding his hand out, “what’s yours?” Ranboo, still confused by the fact that he knew about Borrowers, shook his hand dumbfoundedly, “R-Ranboo, how do you know about Borrowers?” He asked him with a slight edge to his voice.
Meanwhile, Tommy and Tubbo peaked out behind the salt and pepper shakers they had hidden behind. They were curious too.
The man- Wilbur, let out a small smile. “Well, I don’t know about Borrowers, my Girlfriend does though.” He finished, reaching his hand into his pocket and presenting a Female Borrower. “Hey, you must be Ranboo, I’m Sally.”
A few hours of talking later…
Wilbur and Tommy sat together at the kitchen table while the others chatted on the couch, they’re backs to them. “Ayup Big Man, sooo, mind sneaking me some cookies?” Tommy asked with a smirk and cheeky grin. Normally, Wilbur would’ve refused. But, his chaotic energy appeared to be rubbing off on him. “Alright, let’s go get some.” He offered his hand to Tommy, who stepped onto it so trustfully. And while Wilbur and Sally had been together for almost a month now, it was still strange to feel the small living weight of a tiny person in his hand.
The two crept over to the kitchen, and snuck a few cookies from the jar. He placed a cookie onto the hand that Tommy was laying on, and ate the other for himself. Though, while he was munching on the cookie, “Wilbur! You can’t just eat their food unprompted!” Sally scolded him from a counter. Wilbur quickly hid Tommy in the cookie jar, so he wouldn’t get in trouble as well. After Sally chewed him out, he smiled at the thought that the Borrower was probably gorging themselves in there. After a few goodbyes, they left the home. But Wil made sure that the lid to the jar was slightly off, so Tommy could get out without help.
Tommy crawled out of the cookie jar a little bit later, heh, while that human was initially a bitch, he was great about giving Tommy his treats. He went to Ranboo’s room, and climbed the chest of the slumbering human. He spotted Tubbo resting on Ranboo’s hair, and scoffed lightly at the little bee boi. He curled up into a ball on the human’s chest, and thought about when he would next see the human. He did wonder vaguely where the humans next door in between their houses were, but that was a problem for another day.
eret starts out as a borrower in lmanberg, and makes a deal with dream to change them into a human. there are, of course, consequences to this. when shifting reality like this, everything must have an equal and equivalent exchange, and lets just say eret's deal affected more than just him :)
"And then I said-" A loud voice rang out in the messy room of Tommy's room. He was talking about his day at school, as a tiny named Philza had asked about it.
Phil sat and listened with patience. Ranboo was running for their life from Tubbo on his bees. Wilbur strumed a mini guitar Tommy got from a doll set. Techno was reading one of the books Tommy brought home from a 'lie-barry'. A knock sounded at the front door, spooking the family.
Tubbo stopped his chase aa Tommy got up to see if his Ma would open the door. There's Ma, Mommy, and Mama. Ma usually answers the door.
"I really can't thank you enough for watching Fundy. You're a life saver!" A voice. Right, Fundy! They were gonna have a play date! Tommy forgot!
Naturally, everyone hid as footsteps approached. The door opened and a young orange haired boy stood there.
"Tommy!"
------------------------------------------
By the time anyone had the guts to look out at the new boy, he's sat down playing with Tommy. He had a fox plush that was apparently named 'Yogurt'. They talked about the day, at one point learning he had one dad.
"Tommmyy? Why havent you come out to play in awhile?" Fundy asks. He's been lonely without Tommy to play with. Surely he wasn't pretending to be Fundy's friend, right?
"Oh, I have little friends!" Phil felt his heart stop. "Phill??" He didn't move. But Wilbur did. "Hi there little guy!" Fundy's eyes lit up.
"It's.. A little person! Tommy, Yogurt! Look!" He squealed with excitement, much to Techno's discontent. Fundy leaned down with such a happy noise Wilbur almost cried there and then. "Tinnnyy!" Ow. Ears.
This would go fine, probably. It would be fun, right?
“You know what time it is guys?” Foolish asked excitedly.
“POPCORN TIME!!” Charlie and Purple yelled together. The trio raced through the walls to get to the recently put up Christmas tree, decorated with beautiful ornaments and the thing they were most excited for, popcorn on a string, neatly wrapped around the tree, popcorn is a luxury for borrowers most of the time specifically because they can never get to it without being seen, especially not fresh popcorn. “It may be exciting but we still have to be careful grabbing it ok?” Foolish said, knowing that the other two might accidentally cause a scene if they weren’t reminded.
“Ugh, yea yea yea we get it, don’t get caught by the humans so we don’t die,” Purpled said, rolling his eyes at Foolish. After that, they cautiously walked out of their small hole near the tree and started to climb up it. As they got higher, they carefully put small bits of popcorn into their bags, making sure no one was coming back into the room.
Fundy could swear he heard something messing around with the Christmas tree he spent hours setting up, so he went to go check. As he walked into the room, all the sounds he heard before stopped, and as he walked closer to the tree, he could tell something was off. “SAM! Did you mess with the popcorn strands you KNOW I spent HOURS on??” Fundy yelled out, angrily to Sam.
“Why would I do that? I haven’t even been near the tree since you put it up,” Sam calmly called back.
“Well some of the popcorn is missing!”
“How can you tell? It could have just moved around a bit while you were putting it up,” Sam said, trying to calm Fundy down and hoping to stop this little argument. Fundy wasn’t having any of it though, he knows how much popcorn he put up and he 100% knows for a fact some of it’s missing. As Fundy carefully looked around the tree he saw it, actually he saw three, so he grabbed the thieves who stole his hard work. As he pulls them out of the tree and into the open, he sees three little people in his grasp. Fundy, of course, confused says “What the fuck?" The three borrowers stared in horror at the realization that they've been caught. “Who are you and why are you stealing the tree popcorn?” Fundy asked angrily.
“Maybe if you put us down we’ll tell you,” Purpled said, wanting to fight.
“If I do that, you’ll just run off,” Fundy retorted.
“Ok! Ok! Calm down, we’ll tell you if you agree to let us go,” Foolish butted in.
“Fine,” Fundy agreed.
“Ok, good. So, the reason we were ‘stealing’ the tree popcorn is because we need it to survive. If we didn’t we’d starve,” Foolish explained.
“Alright, that explains the tree popcorn stealing, but it doesn’t explain who or what exactly you are. I mean, you seem like you’re just tiny people,” Fundy questioned
“Ok then! I’m Charlie, that’s Foolish, and that is Purpled. We are all borrowers and we live here in Las Nevadas! Also, a borrower is someone who borrows small things that the owner of the house they’re living in wouldn’t miss, like paper clips, or small pieces of food, or even thimbles!” Charlie explained cheerfully.
“Charlie! Don’t go sharing our entire species secrets!” Purpled yelled quietly to Charlie.
“Okay then…… uh, I guess I’ll let you go now since you answered my questions. But don’t think for a second that you can just steal my stuff, especially the stuff I worked hard on!” That last sentence lingered in the trio’s ears as they quickly got away from the giant and into the safety of the walls.
A couple days after the encounter, Foolish decided to take Purpled and Fundy out borrowing for essentials, water, food, and some needed materials. As they were heading back from the trip with their haul, none of them expected Foolish to get caught in a hidden mousetrap close to their hole in the wall. Foolish held back a yelp of pain as he dropped his bag and everything he collected so he could try and get his legs unstuck from the trap. Charlie and Purpled dropped their stuff to help Foolish but he pushed them away, telling them to get back to the walls with the materials while freed himself. As Foolish was trying to ignore the pain while trying to free himself, he didn’t expect one of the giants to walk into the room.
Sam was wandering around trying to help Fundy put the last of the Christmas decorations up when he heard a snap from the kitchen, meaning one of the mouse traps he set up was triggered. As he walked into the kitchen he did not expect to see a small person with their legs stuck in his trap. Sam rushed over, intending to help the tiny person.
Foolish looked up at the giant with fear and saw worry in the giant’s eyes. Foolish started to panic and began pulling on his legs harder, hoping they would come free before the giant got to him. But it was too late, the giant freed him from the trap and held him in his hands.
Sam picked up the small person trying to see how badly they were hurt when all of a sudden, another tiny person walked out of a hole in the wall (Was that always there?) and started yelling at him. Sam tried to calm both tinies down, the one panicking in his hands, and the one shouting at him.
“Hey hey, calm down, I’m just trying to see how badly your friend here is hurt, okay?” Sam said quietly to the yelling tiny. Just then, Fundy walks into the room.
“Sam I still need your help with the decora- What the hell is happening in here?!” Fundy shouted confused at the situation. “First off, Sam, put him down, secondly, Purpled, stop yelling, you’re just making this worse.”
“You know these guys, Fundy?” Sam asked, confused.
“Yea yea, met ‘em a few days ago. Now can someone please explain what’s going on here?”
“Well, I got stuck in a mousetrap that was placed around here and then this guy comes and grabs me out of nowhere. I mean, I’m thankful he freed me but he could’ve just put me down right after.” Foolish explained his side of the story.
“Well I thought we caught a mouse in the trap, that’s kinda the point, anyways I saw him and wanted to help so I released him from the trap and tried checking to make sure he wasn’t too injured. Then this guy with the antennae came out of the wall and yelled at me.” Sam explained.
“All I saw was this big guy come and grab Foolish so I came out to try and get him to put Foolish down.” Purpled explained annoyed.
“So what I’m getting at here is that Sam helped free Foolish from the mousetrap, but didn’t put him down right away so you came out and yelled at him. Did I get that right?” Fundy reiterated.
“Yep,” Foolish, Purpled, and Sam said in unison.
“You guys are lucky Quackity is away for a few days because otherwise, I don’t know what-” Fundy was cut off as they heard the door open behind them and watched as Quackity walked through. Foolish and Purpled sat frozen in fear, not knowing what to do. Sam and Fundy tried covering the borrowers so Quackity didn’t see them. “Uh Quackity! Heyyyy! I thought you were gonna be out longer, what made you come back so early?” Fundy asked nervously.
“I felt like you two would do something stupid, like burn down the place, while I was gone so I decided to come back early.” Quackity explained. “I also feel like it was a good idea because what the fuck are those?” he asked, pointing at Foolish and Purpled. At this point, Charlie walks out of the hole in the wall to see what’s happening and of course, wants to explain to Quackity of Las Nevadas that they, in fact, live there and don’t mess with main parts of the casino.
“So, what I’m getting from this small green person is that you guys are what’s called ‘borrowers’ and have been ‘borrowing’ food and other small materials over time?” Quackity questioned.
“Yup! That’s basically it!” Charlie said cheerfully.
“Alright, as long as you don’t break anything or steal anything important you can stay.” Quackity said, walking away.
“Well that went better than expected,” Fundy said.
“Yea… It was also kinda terrifying,” Foolish quietly said.
“Anyways… You guys just gonna stick around then? It’ll be nice to have some more people around other than Sam and Quackity. No offence Sam” Fundy said.
“None taken,” Sam replied.
“Yea, I think we’ll stick around, as long as you guys don’t try to kill us or something,” Foolish answered.
