pirate mer dream

okay, so im just imagining a puffy who is a pirate and raids a trader's ship, and in the cabins underneath the deck, she finds a tank with a baby mer inside. the water is murky, the tank is unkempt, and the mer looks starved. the mer speaks in clicks and whistles, like a dolphin, but seems to understand english. so, he seems to understand when puffy tells him she would free him.

puffy immediately adopts the baby mer and names him dream. she orders her men to carry the tank to her ship so she can clean it and keep dream on her ship. but she also allows dream to swim in the ocean when he wants, too. dream is a free mer, now. but dream attaches himself to puffy quickly, seeing her as his new pod.

dream is smart and a quick learner and eventually learns several human languages, including english. he gets along well with his older human brother, foolish. the pirate crew are endeared to him. he makes new friends, like bad and his son, sapnap. everyone loves their new baby mer crewmate.

except ... puffy didn't realise just how quickly, and how much, mers grew.

pretty soon, she has a three-hundred foot leviathan who protects her ship in the deep waters and would die for her crew.

(never mind the fact that the leviathan, the mer, is a total sweetheart and commonly teases his older brother about being his "little" brother, to foolish's chagrin).

like, imagine one scene. george is new on the ship and keeps track of the ledgers and numbers of the ship. he doesn't know about their fellow mer crewmate yet, because dream doesn't show himself to new crew members right away. one day, they're raided by another pirate ship and are taken captive. sapnap edges closer to the railing on the side, he takes his dagger - which hadn't been apprehended yet like the other weapons - and he throws it over the side of the ship.

it plops into the water with an anticlimactic splash.

george could almost scream. "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?" he wants to yell. instead, he says, lamely, "that was our last hope. gone."

the opposing pirates all laugh at him, thinking sapnap stupid.

"any moment, now," sapnap says.

"any moment, what -"

and then a leviathan breeches the water, covered in green scales. its at least a hundred feet long, or at least, the bit outside the water is. its tail is still hidden in the depths. and, oh - the leviathan looks pissed, too. its teeth are bared, long, shark-like teeth on display.

"who dares hurt my family?" the leviathan demands, holding the previously thrown dagger pinched between its fingers.

"dream!" sapnap says, grin wide.

george's jaw drops.

The sun was beginning to go down, letting people know that in a few hours night would fall. Normally the woods in that area were quiet, but that day they heard many shots. They were apparently directed towards a pair of blue jay hybrids that had a peculiar coloration, as neither were blue in color but one was fawn yellow and the other shamrock green.

A couple of hunters chased them trying to hurt them in order to catch them, while a third followed them with the van so they could later put the birds in the cages they had. The hybrids continued to flap their wings as fast as they could, not wanting to be caught. “Foolish… When are they going to stop chasing us? My wings hurt from flying so much... we've been like this all morning and noon..." complained the green one and apparently the younger of the two.

“I don't know Dream… Just hold on a little more… I'm sure they'll give up at night…” replied the other, dodging another shot. "We can't let them escape, if we catch them we can get a lot of money in exchange for them!!" yelled one of the hunters. Foolish looked to his side realizing that Dream was falling behind. He was too tired to continue.

His eyes widened as he watched a hand get too close to his younger brother. "DREAM!" “I managed to catch one of them without having to hurt him with the bullets! Only the other remains." says the hunter victorious, his hand closed around the hybrid, waiting for the van to stop next to him to lock up the green bird, while the other continued to chase the yellow one.

Foolish continued to fly as fast as he could, though he was so preoccupied with Dream that he didn't even get a chance to dodge the hunter's shot. The hybrid hit the ground hard, although he got up quickly, starting to run towards some bushes, trying to lose sight of the hunter. Although turning his gaze to the front, he found something that he did not like at all.

Dream twisted in the hunter's grasp, flapping his wings quickly. “Leave us alone!!” he snapped as he continued to try to escape. The hunter just laughed at the hybrid. “Not in a million years, as soon as we catch the other, you two will be traded for a lot of money.” he replied with a cruel smile. "No, you won’t be able to catch him, so forget about him!” he yelled back, which the hunter didn't like, clenching his fist even tighter, causing the hybrid to let out a pained cry.

Neither of them had noticed the naga that had appeared a few meters away, though the naga hadn't noticed them either as he was a bit drowsy. The hybrid writhed until he finally decided to bite down hard on the hunter's hand, causing the hunter to let him go. "Son of a b-!" Dream only taunted him, flitting forward, still looking at the hunter so he could see him swear as he stared at the hand where Dream had bitten.

However when he looked forward, his eyes widened in terror, trying to stop his flight suddenly. The cause of this was because he was rushing towards the yawning maw of a naga.

Unfortunately he couldn't stop in time and his legs hit the back of the naga's mouth, causing him to swallow. Dream was about to let out a small cry as he was pushed down into the tight throat.

Foolish Let out a small yelp of fear, falling back as he was met by a naga. "My, my... I was looking for something to eat but it seems it came right at me." Said the naga with heterochromatic eyes, his smile widening. Foolish started to crawl back when he heard another shot and snapped his head towards the sound, letting him know that the hunter was getting closer.

The naga glanced ahead before looking at the hybrid again, noting the injured wing, covered in blood. "So...you already have someone after you, huh?" he commented, bringing his hand closer to the hybrid, lifting him up off the floor. “W-Wait! Please!" The naga only pressed a finger gently on the small boy's lips as he rolled his eyes, shutting up the bird instantly.

“Okay, okay… I won't hurt you, but if you want to get away from the one who's chasing you, I'll have to hide you and you probably won't like it, but you'll have to put up with it anyway." Foolish was really confused when the naga said those words to him, until he was brought closer to his mouth, realizing what the naga was referring to. 

The hybrid tried to squirm to no avail as he was introduced into the reptile's jaws. Foolish was desperately trying to hold on to something when the naga finally swallowed him, sending him downward. The bird pushed against the soft walls, trying to coax the naga into letting it out. "Nonono... Please let me out!" The naga only huffed. “You'll be fine-..” ​​“They have my brother! I have to go get him!" he yelled, still pushing against the walls of the storage. 'Hmmm... So that was it, huh?'

“I'll take care of it, get some rest, I bet that you're really tired and the injury is making you even more tired. I promise I won't hurt either of you…” Foolish didn't know if he should really trust a naga who previously wanted to eat him, but his voice was honest, so he decided to do as he was told, closing his eyes, falling asleep in a few seconds.

George looked straight ahead once he felt the hybrid fall asleep. He was getting soft. It wasn't long before a hunter appeared with a gun, though it wasn't made for hunting naga’s. The hunter's eyes widened as they met the naga's heterochromatic ones. "Well, it seems that someone has decided to become my lunch." The hunter shakily pointed the gun at the naga and George just laughed at that.

"You know full well that those weapons are of no use against a naga, right?" he commented with a wide smile. The hunter dropped his gun and ran off, earning another laugh from the naga who began to chase him. “Hey, haven't you come to offer yourself? I will be really glad to accept you in my stomach.” He commented, giving the hunter some advantage so that he could lead him to his partners.

The naga was sleepy at the time, he had just woken up from a rather long nap so he didn't expect something to go into his mouth while he yawned. He choked for a moment before swallowing.

Sapnap let out a little belch, from the air he had swallowed along with something else that didn't know what it was, until he saw some green feathers coming out of his mouth. "Have I swallowed a bird...?" He asked himself before an angry voice was heard.

"Hey! That's my bird! Give it back to me!" The hunter froze for a moment as the naga licked his lips. "I don't think so, I must admit it was quite delicious…" "I don't care! I had a hard time catching it, so give it back to me!" Sapnap only rolled his eyes lightly pressing on his storage.

"Hmm... Should I move it to the stomach and digest it...?" He wondered in a low voice, though the bird inside the storage heard it too, beginning to squirm and push against the soft walls. "N-No! P-Please! D-Don't digest me! B-Brother! H-Help me p-please!" The bird inside cried.

Sapnap frowned. Birds don't talk, unless it was a hybrid. He looked at the hunter again. "You said it was a bird, not a hybrid." He said seriously. "That doesn't matter! It's still a fucking bird!" snapped the hunter angrily when he saw that the naga had no intention of returning the bird. At that, Sapnap's gaze darkened, he slid over to the hunter placing his hands on the man's shoulders. "Listen to me and do it right..." he commented in a threatening tone.

The hunter swallowed, clearly nervous at the naga's sudden change in attitude. “If you imply that a bird hybrid is the same as a simple bird, to me, you would be just another piece of meat on the menu. I could eat you whole right now and your life would end here, believe me, I would do it without hesitation, there is plenty of free space for you to fit inside." he finally grunted, removing his hands from the hunter's shoulders. "Now get out of here before I decide to turn you into naga food.” The hunter nodded quickly, his eyes wide with terror as he turned to run back to the van.

A few seconds later another hunter appeared running towards the van, a brown-haired naga following slowly behind. Sapnap smiled slightly. "Hey George... So you've met a hunter too?" The heterochromatic naga looked at him for a moment before nodding. “I had threatened to eat him and then he ran off. He was acting brave but he's actually a coward." He ended up laughing, Sapnap laughing at that too.

Sapnap thought for a while before asking. "What was he looking for though?" "Apparently he was looking for a bird hybrid, but I found him before he could." he commented to the black-haired man calmly. Sapnap watched him silently for a moment before speaking. "You haven't done anything to them, right?" he asked with a bit of concern in his voice. George sighed at this, rolling his eyes. “No, I haven't done anything to him, he's in my storage. Although being hungry, I don't like this at all."

Sapnap sighed in relief at that. "Then let's go find you something to eat while we let them rest for a while before letting them out." George nodded, both nagas began to slide back into the deep part of the forest. "We should also get some healing leaves, apparently the one that I've found was shot in one of his wings." Sapnap nodded, following his companion. They would keep the two hybrids safe from any danger around them.

Man, it's been so long since I've written for the Shipwrecked au... I've actually had this oneshot in my drafts for a while, and only remembered it today.

This story is sort of a prequel to Familiar Faces! You've seen Eret's perspective on Foolish's adoption, what it looked like to a young human. Now we see what happened from a mer's eyes!

A New Safety

Foolish wiggled his tail in excitement, accidentally sending a few waves onto the beach. He kept his eyes shut, hiding them behind his hands for good measure.

"Free, four, five, seven, two, four-" he counted.

Really, he was just guessing at this point. He didn't know how to count very high in mer, let alone English, which he barely knew. It was ok, though. Eret didn't mind if he counted wrong, as long as he counted long enough so she could hide.

Foolish heard a tiny giggle, and instantly pinpointed his friend's location, even with his back turned. Of course, he would pretend not to know like he always did. It was no fun for Eret if he found them right away. Not that they knew he only pretended to look, of course.

He counted a few more numbers, ending on infinity, the biggest number he knew. Instead of looking behind the rock he knew Eret was behind, he drifted farther down the beach.

"Eret!" he called, drawing on his limited human vocabulary. "Eret where?"

He was about to start making his way towards Eret's hiding place, when he heard a noise that he hadn't heard in over a year. It was the questioning trill of another mer.

"Hello?" He called in mer, forgetting his game.

"Hello, little one," the mer said, rising to the surface from where she'd been hidden. "What are you doing by the shore?"

She was much bigger than Foolish, almost as big as his parent had been! Her hair was poofy, kind of like Eret's, and her scales were a shimmering rainbow of pink blue and purple. She was smiling at him, and he decided he liked her.

"I live here!" Foolish said proudly.

"All alone?" The mer asked, her voice ringing with concern. "Where is your parent?"

"I don't have one," Foolish admitted, his fins drooping. Then he perked up. "But I'm not alone! My friend comes to play all the time. His name is Eret. Eret?"

Foolish switched back to English to call his friend's name, but they didn't come out. For a minute, he thought they were still playing the game, but then he heard a little whimper. He remembered how scared Eret had been when they first met.

"She's shy," he told the grown up mer. "But she's a human, and her name is Eret! They're even littler than me."

"Even littler than you?" The older mer teased. "That's hard to do."

"Hey!" Foolish protested. "I'm not that little! Just wait, I bet I'll get even bigger than you!"

"Maybe you will," the colorful mer agreed with a gentle smile. "What's your name?"

"Foolish."

"My name is Puffy," she said. "It must be hard taking care of yourself. Do you want to live with me?"

Foolish thought for a few moments. He missed having a parent. There was nobody to cuddle with except for Eret, who was too small to hold him. He was always hungry because he wasn't very good at hunting yet, and his scales got itchy because his gills weren't grown yet and he had to sleep with his head on the sand.

"Can I still play with Eret?" He asked. "I don't want to leave him."

"Hmm," Puffy trilled. "I live a little far from this beach. Is it ok if you only visit every few days?"

"Yuh-huh," said Foolish. Eret could only come to play on the 'week ends' anyways.

"Ok," she said, reaching out a hand. Foolish swam into it right away, chirping with happiness as he was held. He was almost too big to fit in one hand- he didn't realize how much he'd grown!

"Do you want to go home now?" Puffy asked.

"Yes!" Foolish said, in between excited hums. "Oh, after I say goodbye to Eret."

He looked back down to the shore, but Eret was still hiding behind the rock. Hm. Maybe they were too nervous to meet Puffy. He could tell them he had a new parent the next time he visited- as well as he could with his limited English skills.

He told Puffy this, and she agreed, saying she didn't want to scare his friend. He held up his arms, and she began to raise him towards her face.

It was a little embarrassing, but 'hold' slipped out of his mouth in baby talk. He was too old to be chirping like a newborn hatchling, but Puffy didn't laugh. She just pressed her nose against him and purred.

The second she opened her mouth, Foolish launched himself forward. This time she did laugh a little, but Foolish couldn't bring himself to care. It had been so long since he'd been in a nesting pouch, safe and cozy.

Puffy kept up a steady purr as she cleaned him with her tongue. He leaned into the touches, already feeling fuzzy from the comfort after so long without. Once she deemed him clean and injury free, her tongue began to nudge him towards her throat.

Foolish let out another hum of excitement as she swallowed, sending him towards her pouch. The walls squeezed him as he slipped down, and he'd joined in with Puffy's purring by the time he landed in the pouch.

He instantly curled up against the pouch wall, fighting back the urge to cry as he felt complete safety for the first time in over a year. A rocking motion gently shook the pouch as Puffy began to swim, taking him to his new home.

Foolish yawned, his eyes falling shut. After so long away from other mers, being held was beyond relaxing. He let out a quiet chirp of contentment before he drifted off to sleep.

Yes!!

I wanted to draw him anyways since its already been mentioned why he’s important to the plot, so thank you for giving me an excuse to do that! (also I just had fun with his clothes hsksksh) And I hope you don’t mind, but I’m also going to use this a bit to talk about borrower genes (specifically Foolish’s since I can go into more detail about anyone else’s whenever and I don’t want this to be too long), since all the choices I make about what traits borrowers have are on purpose.

I may or may not have mentioned earlier (I think i did but i honestly don’t remember), but rn Foolish is the only pureblood borrower in this au, being a homemaker borrower with no conflicting genes (Charlie is a close second, but he’s not entirely pure blooded, since his ears a just a bit too pointed to be normal for homemakers)

Homemaker borrowers have more human looking ears with a pointed shape and entirely round pupils. They also have the thickest tails of any borrowers, and use their tails like a fifth limb, usually to help them carry tools, equipment, or to hold something up while they work, since their tails can hold up to double the weight of what they can lift normally (meaning that Foolish is absolutely stacked, since he’s already strong). Their tails also don’t wag or express any emotion like that either (unlike the other two types of tails), and they only move when the borrower is consciously moving it. Otherwise it stays in a more or less neutral position.

There are three sub-species of borrowers in this au, and they used to have jobs in their colonies based on their physical attributes, but over generations borrowers or different subspecies mixed and it all got jumbled up since no one really cared to keep a clean bloodline.

Foolish’s didn’t really, either, it’s just that the majority of his old colony were homemaker borrowers, so he’s genes are still unmixed.

Also!! Please feel free to send more people!! Even if I didn’t specify who they are in the au, ask for them! If I didn’t have any plans for them I’ll probably make them a borrower, I honestly just want an excuse to draw more borrowers. And if they already had a role in the au, then boom, you just unlocked new lore for this au. It’s a win with situation.

Toy story au

Dream has a job of restoring old toys, fixing toys- and basically just helping toys to not be broken and stuff (kind of-)

Except he knows something- he knows that toys are alive. He found out when he was a kid and one little mushroom fairy doll he'd stolen had been too lazy to pretend to be an object

So now, Dream has his little workshop where he'll help fix people's toys- but with the help of George (the mushroom fairy doll) he'll find out how the toy got broken and if they want to go back to the person who had then before, if not he'll let them stay and tell the person he couldn't fix the toy, then it's up to the toy weather they want to be given to another kid or if they just wanna stay with Dream (these options are also given to toys who need to be restored- in case they don't wanna be on a shelf collecting dust, or they just are too lonely being on a shelf as a collectable)

So far Dream does have a few toys living with him such as:

George: a doll of a mushroom fairy prince based off a character in an old children's cartoon (Dream had stolen them when he was a kid because he needed money and knew George would sell alot to collectors- but then he found out toys were alive and didn't do that)

Sapnap: action figure of an anime character. He was given to Dream to restore after a collector bought him from another collector- but decided to stay because sitting on a shelf and doing nothing was boring and lonely, so now with Dream he can run around and do whatever he wants, which includes fighting things

Badboyhalo: action figure of a movie villain. The kid who had him before had ripped all of his arms off (even though he's plastic-) while playing with him and that's why Dream had to fix him. Bad decided to stay because he didn't like having to be the villain, plus it hurt to be thrown around and pulled apart so much....

Antfrost: a cat plushie that had a few tears. He'd been sold at a yard sale- but the people who had bought him had only bought Ant and not Velvet, so when he was given to Dream to sew up he asked to stay to have Dream's help to try and find Velvet again so they could stay together (they do find Velvet eventually, don't worry- it seems like the person writing this world decided that Velvet would be given to Dream to get fixed at some point 👀)

AwSamDude: creeper plushie. A kid had tried to sew armor onto him, but they had no idea what they were doing- so now Sam is with Dream being fixed... But he doesn't really want to go back to his kid because he's interested in building and stuff, so he stays and sometimes him and other toys build amazing things with legos-

Red Velvet: little plushie doll designed like a red velvet cake. He ends up with Dream after a kid ripped his arm- but ended up staying because of Antfrost

Captain Puffy: sheep plushie. She was actually given to Dream when he was a baby, like a present for the day he was born- so she's always been there for Dream, even before he knew toys were alive. Now she's in charge of all of the toys when Dream isn't there, she's an amazing leader, builder, and is great at making sure everyone is doing okay

Niki: she's a monster mermaid doll based off a kids movie series with monsters (definitely not monster high-). A kid cut off some of her hair and tried to put makeup on her. She decided to stay because she didn't really like kids deciding who she was and what she was like (she learned from Puffy she could choose what to be like herself) and decided to stay

Ponk: lemon with a face, arms, and legs. A kid ripped off his arm, and when he was brought to Dream the arm that had been torn off was missing. He decided to stay because he wanted to be able to go on his own adventures

Connor: sonic toy. Nobody knows how he got here or why he stayed.

Foolish: action figure! He's supposed to change colour in water, but was never able to do it, and was brought to Dream to be fixed.... But Dream couldn't figure out how to fix it. So Foolish just stayed, and started to become friends with Puffy

Hannah Rose: chia pet doll- the company just wanted to test and see if a doll would work, the kid who had Hannah broke her almost immediately because she's made of glass- she decided to stay because she knew that if she broke again the CIA per company would just destroy her

Punz and Purpled: superhero action figures. Dream got both of them together after a kid tried to swap their arms. Both decided to stay because kids are destructive and disgusting

Quackity: a rubber ducky! His squeaker broke, and he chose to stay because he wants to still annoy people and cause chaos without a squeaker

Karl: a large plushie doll, designed like his original Minecraft skin. His arm got ripped, and he wanted to stay with Dream because he needed help with some memory problems

Eret: doll king based off a show with fairytale characters. The factory paint on his eyes got whiped off, but when Dream was gonna paint it back Eret told him he'd done it herself, she wanted to have blank eyes and wanted to customize themselves to match what he wanted to look like. So Dream helped them out

Technoblade: pig plushie. The dude got a battle scar (he had a year in his arm) and still refuses to let Dream sew it to this day

Ranboo: same line of monster dolls as Niki (he looks like his vtuber). He hasn't been around long enough to have many memories of his own apart from being bought and loosing his hand... So he wants to stay with Dream so he can make his own memories with friends of his own choosing

Wilbur Soot: an amibo of a character from a game like Stardew Valley..... Except he decided to cause chaos, got off his little pedastool and started threatening to burn down the house of the kids that owned him (with Tommy as his "helper"). Dream heard about this and offered the to take Wilbur and Tommy from the family so they're house would be safe-

Tommy: he's like those really small Polly pocket dolls that come in little compacts- but his is a little petting zoo with tiny animals, and a spider he adopted.

Then there are two more humans for this au:

For the toys that still wanna be owned but don't want to go back to the person who had them originally- Dream sends them off to a friend of his that owns a pawn shop: Schlatt, and Schlatt doesn't work alone, he has his son Tubbo work around the pawn shop and help Dream out as well. Tubbo doesn't mind though since he's become friends with some of the toys.

Giant mer Eret and small human Foolish-

This? This right here? Absolutely amazing

All I can imagine is Foolish's thinking Eret is a tiny mer out in the water and invited them to come closer to the docks because they've been kind of just swimming around and watching Foolish for a bit, but Eret is not a tiny mer, they are a big mer with extremely sharp teeth smiling down at Foolish

Foolish is not a normal human and instantly decides this giant terrifying mermaid is their best friend and well die for them, the two start hanging out all the time thanks to the fact that Foolish has joined his papas pirate crew so Eret just follow the ship around and also protect it from other threats that could also sink it out in the big ocean. No one has a problem with this since technically they just have free protection while sailing from mischievous mer or dangerous cracken's, its a win-win scenario for everyone involved

Also I'd like to think that Eret is a giant betta fish so she got big frills that make it look like they have a very pretty skirt on all the time, Eret is the kind of predator that looks very beautiful and delicate but can and will bite you and half :D

This is how I imagine Eret's fins looking but I also like the idea Eret can change the colors

“You know what time it is guys?” Foolish asked excitedly.

“POPCORN TIME!!” Charlie and Purple yelled together. The trio raced through the walls to get to the recently put up Christmas tree, decorated with beautiful ornaments and the thing they were most excited for, popcorn on a string, neatly wrapped around the tree, popcorn is a luxury for borrowers most of the time specifically because they can never get to it without being seen, especially not fresh popcorn. “It may be exciting but we still have to be careful grabbing it ok?” Foolish said, knowing that the other two might accidentally cause a scene if they weren’t reminded.

“Ugh, yea yea yea we get it, don’t get caught by the humans so we don’t die,” Purpled said, rolling his eyes at Foolish. After that, they cautiously walked out of their small hole near the tree and started to climb up it. As they got higher, they carefully put small bits of popcorn into their bags, making sure no one was coming back into the room.

Fundy could swear he heard something messing around with the Christmas tree he spent hours setting up, so he went to go check. As he walked into the room, all the sounds he heard before stopped, and as he walked closer to the tree, he could tell something was off. “SAM! Did you mess with the popcorn strands you KNOW I spent HOURS on??” Fundy yelled out, angrily to Sam.

“Why would I do that? I haven’t even been near the tree since you put it up,” Sam calmly called back.

“Well some of the popcorn is missing!”

“How can you tell? It could have just moved around a bit while you were putting it up,” Sam said, trying to calm Fundy down and hoping to stop this little argument. Fundy wasn’t having any of it though, he knows how much popcorn he put up and he 100% knows for a fact some of it’s missing. As Fundy carefully looked around the tree he saw it, actually he saw three, so he grabbed the thieves who stole his hard work. As he pulls them out of the tree and into the open, he sees three little people in his grasp. Fundy, of course, confused says “What the fuck?" The three borrowers stared in horror at the realization that they've been caught. “Who are you and why are you stealing the tree popcorn?” Fundy asked angrily.

“Maybe if you put us down we’ll tell you,” Purpled said, wanting to fight.

“If I do that, you’ll just run off,” Fundy retorted.

“Ok! Ok! Calm down, we’ll tell you if you agree to let us go,” Foolish butted in.

“Fine,” Fundy agreed.

“Ok, good. So, the reason we were ‘stealing’ the tree popcorn is because we need it to survive. If we didn’t we’d starve,” Foolish explained.

“Alright, that explains the tree popcorn stealing, but it doesn’t explain who or what exactly you are. I mean, you seem like you’re just tiny people,” Fundy questioned

“Ok then! I’m Charlie, that’s Foolish, and that is Purpled. We are all borrowers and we live here in Las Nevadas! Also, a borrower is someone who borrows small things that the owner of the house they’re living in wouldn’t miss, like paper clips, or small pieces of food, or even thimbles!” Charlie explained cheerfully.

“Charlie! Don’t go sharing our entire species secrets!” Purpled yelled quietly to Charlie.

“Okay then…… uh, I guess I’ll let you go now since you answered my questions. But don’t think for a second that you can just steal my stuff, especially the stuff I worked hard on!” That last sentence lingered in the trio’s ears as they quickly got away from the giant and into the safety of the walls.

A couple days after the encounter, Foolish decided to take Purpled and Fundy out borrowing for essentials, water, food, and some needed materials. As they were heading back from the trip with their haul, none of them expected Foolish to get caught in a hidden mousetrap close to their hole in the wall. Foolish held back a yelp of pain as he dropped his bag and everything he collected so he could try and get his legs unstuck from the trap. Charlie and Purpled dropped their stuff to help Foolish but he pushed them away, telling them to get back to the walls with the materials while freed himself. As Foolish was trying to ignore the pain while trying to free himself, he didn’t expect one of the giants to walk into the room.

Sam was wandering around trying to help Fundy put the last of the Christmas decorations up when he heard a snap from the kitchen, meaning one of the mouse traps he set up was triggered. As he walked into the kitchen he did not expect to see a small person with their legs stuck in his trap. Sam rushed over, intending to help the tiny person.

Foolish looked up at the giant with fear and saw worry in the giant’s eyes. Foolish started to panic and began pulling on his legs harder, hoping they would come free before the giant got to him. But it was too late, the giant freed him from the trap and held him in his hands.

Sam picked up the small person trying to see how badly they were hurt when all of a sudden, another tiny person walked out of a hole in the wall (Was that always there?) and started yelling at him. Sam tried to calm both tinies down, the one panicking in his hands, and the one shouting at him.

“Hey hey, calm down, I’m just trying to see how badly your friend here is hurt, okay?” Sam said quietly to the yelling tiny. Just then, Fundy walks into the room.

“Sam I still need your help with the decora- What the hell is happening in here?!” Fundy shouted confused at the situation. “First off, Sam, put him down, secondly, Purpled, stop yelling, you’re just making this worse.”

“You know these guys, Fundy?” Sam asked, confused.

“Yea yea, met ‘em a few days ago. Now can someone please explain what’s going on here?”

“Well, I got stuck in a mousetrap that was placed around here and then this guy comes and grabs me out of nowhere. I mean, I’m thankful he freed me but he could’ve just put me down right after.” Foolish explained his side of the story.

“Well I thought we caught a mouse in the trap, that’s kinda the point, anyways I saw him and wanted to help so I released him from the trap and tried checking to make sure he wasn’t too injured. Then this guy with the antennae came out of the wall and yelled at me.” Sam explained.

“All I saw was this big guy come and grab Foolish so I came out to try and get him to put Foolish down.” Purpled explained annoyed.

“So what I’m getting at here is that Sam helped free Foolish from the mousetrap, but didn’t put him down right away so you came out and yelled at him. Did I get that right?” Fundy reiterated.

“Yep,” Foolish, Purpled, and Sam said in unison.

“You guys are lucky Quackity is away for a few days because otherwise, I don’t know what-” Fundy was cut off as they heard the door open behind them and watched as Quackity walked through. Foolish and Purpled sat frozen in fear, not knowing what to do. Sam and Fundy tried covering the borrowers so Quackity didn’t see them. “Uh Quackity! Heyyyy! I thought you were gonna be out longer, what made you come back so early?” Fundy asked nervously.

“I felt like you two would do something stupid, like burn down the place, while I was gone so I decided to come back early.” Quackity explained. “I also feel like it was a good idea because what the fuck are those?” he asked, pointing at Foolish and Purpled. At this point, Charlie walks out of the hole in the wall to see what’s happening and of course, wants to explain to Quackity of Las Nevadas that they, in fact, live there and don’t mess with main parts of the casino.

“So, what I’m getting from this small green person is that you guys are what’s called ‘borrowers’ and have been ‘borrowing’ food and other small materials over time?” Quackity questioned.

“Yup! That’s basically it!” Charlie said cheerfully.

“Alright, as long as you don’t break anything or steal anything important you can stay.” Quackity said, walking away.

“Well that went better than expected,” Fundy said.

“Yea… It was also kinda terrifying,” Foolish quietly said.

“Anyways… You guys just gonna stick around then? It’ll be nice to have some more people around other than Sam and Quackity. No offence Sam” Fundy said.

“None taken,” Sam replied.

“Yea, I think we’ll stick around, as long as you guys don’t try to kill us or something,” Foolish answered.

“Haha! You got yourselves a deal!”
