“I dunno. I guess with being small there’s never a shortage of food. You can have as much of your favorite as you want and hardly make a dent in it. Being big ... It’s not very cold. With all the problems that come with it, at least there’s that.”
Neon, can I take your crack Gulliver Travels AU, and make Jacob suffer(after or at the third chapter lmao) some more?? (Idky I love to see him suffer... Maybe Angst, idk?)
PLEEEEEEEEEEEASSE? 🥺
Sincerely(I beg of ye, I need permission.),

Oh man! I do have a few more plans for that lil AU (Including an AUAU of it, which should be ready to start posting sometime ... soon ;D ), but I definitely haven’t planned out much angst for it. I say go for it! Provide the angst that I have not put into the AU! But please do let me see it when you’re done! I would love to see it!

Jacob couldn't think of a worse idea, but Chase convinced him anyway. He had a way of making bad ideas seem minor. Any concerns about them were met with fast, reasonable reassurances.
Until the plan was in action. Then those same reassurances were trampled by not-so-theoretical concerns.
Case in point, it thrilled no one that a giant stood in the street. He hadn't stepped on anything or bumped into buildings, but all the same he took up a lot of space. Even trying to stay out of the way, he couldn't avoid blocking the way. He really wished he hadn't listened to Chase.
“I know what you’re thinking,” came a voice from his shoulder. Chase perched in the folds of Jacob’s hood, with one of the hoodie strings looped around his waist for extra security. He didn’t seem fazed by the people shouting up at Jacob for his interruption of an otherwise normal day. “You’re thinking you wish you hadn’t listened to me, but the day isn’t even over yet, so like you can’t even say it was all a total loss. Not yet.”
Jacob scoffed faintly, but continued on the route Chase had pointed out for him. “Dude. The police are gonna show up or something eventually.”
“And do what? You’re stupid big, Jake. And I want you to meet one of my buddies!”
“Why couldn’t you just have brought him to your house instead?”
“This is funnier.”
Jacob’s lips thinned to a line and he watched the ground as he sidled around a Lilliputian woman who yelled demands up at him from the sidewalk. Of course Chase would say something like that.
At length, they reached the estate that Chase wanted him to find. To Jacob’s relief, a wide lawn of lush green grass spread around the sizable house, dotted here and there with colorful flower beds and manicured trees. A winding driveway led up to the house, where ivy climbed the bricks and created a stately image of what Jacob could only describe as “old money”.
“Okay, go around back, I’ll point out his window for you,” Chase instructed, casual as ever.
Jacob tried to turn his head to give Chase a skeptical look. He couldn’t quite catch the little guy in his gaze, but frowned all the same. “What am I gonna do with that information? I’m not breaking in!” he hissed.
Chase scoffed indignantly. “I know, I know, just get back there and I’ll explain, okay? Just trust me!”
Jacob thought that he probably shouldn’t, but rolled his eyes and made his way around the side of the house. He avoided flowers and trees and did his best to place his steps lightly; the well groomed grass still flattened under his steps, but he didn’t see any signs that he’d completely destroyed any landscaping.
Chase told him the plan. Jacob couldn’t help a brief, amused smile despite his exasperation. He squatted down near the window Chase pointed out to him on the back of the stately house, well away from any landscaping and porches. The window was open and the curtains beyond it wavered in the breeze, but not enough for Jacob to see the room beyond them.
Chase took a deep breath and then, as loudly as he could, yelled “Hey! Bobby!”

Chase fidgeted on Jacob's shoulder, impatient for his idea to come to fruition. He was pretty sure Bobby would be home, and the guy hadn't met Jacob yet. What better way to introduce him?
He grinned at the first sign of movement past the curtains. A hand grasped cloth and Chase leaned forward eagerly. The way Jacob knelt by the house, Chase had a perfect view of Bobby's face as it came into view. The curtain swept aside, and--
"Oh what the fu-" Bobby blurted, falling out of sight as quickly as he'd appeared.
Chase cackled and had to cling to the giant hoodie string that anchored him as he all but doubled over. "Oh my God, Bobby, your face!" he wheezed. He tried to say more but it came out unintelligible through his laughter.
Bobby reappeared, his hair ruffled and his eyes narrowed accusingly. "What is your problem?! Bringing your ... giant around here without even warning me?"
Jacob chuckled, and the sound rumbled right through Chase’s core. Bobby flinched back from the sound, too, but it didn’t stop Jacob from chiming in. “Technically his giant brought him here. He mooched a ride.”
“Hey!” Chase scolded. “Missing the point here! I played a really great prank on Bobby here and I think that deserves some credit!”
Unfortunately for Chase, no one else was ready to give him that credit. Bobby sent a wary look to Jacob, who remained as giant and imposing as he always had been. He was polite about not destroying the yard, at least, and Bobby slowly relaxed enough to cross his arms. “Guess he trained you up pretty well then,” he quipped.
Chase didn’t have to sling an indignant remark back; Jacob was way ahead of him. One huge hand lifted to the window, and Jacob poked Bobby in the chest before he could balk away. “Hey, now, bud, no need to be pouty with me. You got pranked, not robbed.”
Bobby flinched back and he rubbed a hand over the spot Jacob had touched him. “W-watch it!” he warned, though the stammer in his voice belied his lingering nerves.
Chase rolled his eyes and waved to get Bobby’s attention again. “Don’t be lame, Bobby. Jacob wouldn’t hurt a fly. If he could even see one. Y’know what I mean.”
“He’s right, I can’t see flies,” Jacob confirmed with a smirk. As he spoke, he lifted his hand to his shoulder, and Chase scooted onto his palm. “I just make a good taxi is all.”
Chase grinned at Bobby’s wide-eyed expression as the giant hand ferried him right to the window. “See? Easy transport. Wanna come on a walk with us, Bobby?”
Bobby sent him a flat look, then glanced past him at Jacob, who waited as patient and steady as ever. “Fine. Gimme a minute.”
I had to return to this AU. I can never stay away for too long, Jacob as a giant is just too much fun! So what does a resident giant do when everyone you know is busy? Make new friends, if you can! Jacob's so kind to these little folk. It's no wonder most of them warm up to him so fast.

The people of Lilliput bustled about in such a hurry. Errands and work and trading drew many of them out of their homes, especially on a clear day like this one. Everyone had things to do and places to be while the sun still shone.
Unfortunately for Jacob, that included the family of Lilliputians that had taken him in. The Lisongs had their work in one of the bustling markets in the middle of town where Jacob couldn’t go. Chase and Minnie, their kids and his first friends since he washed up on the shore, had classes to attend. Jacob didn’t yet know where they went on such days.
Being the resident giant, he couldn’t exactly wander into town whenever he liked.
He’d gotten permission from all but a few farmers that lived near the city to wander their fields. Most simply asked that he try not to spook the livestock--easier said than done when most of the people didn’t even measure up to a finger. Horses, cows, and especially chickens steered clear of him. Goats with plenty to prove sometimes charged his boots, but even they backed down eventually.
Some animals had gotten used to him. He slept near the Lisong’s pastures, so many of their cattle at least tolerated him. Their sheep avoided him, but little lambs raised carefully by Minnie had grown up with him around and didn’t mind his presence at all.
Sometimes, it seemed like Chase antagonized the animals way more than Jacob ever did.
Jacob found himself near an edge of town he didn’t often visit. There were walls blocking in the city proper, but a handful of buildings clustered at the wall, built sometime later. They had their own little plaza with a fountain out there.
Jacob inched closer to peer over the buildings and see the fountain. He made sure his steps didn’t wander into anyone’s yard by mistake. He’d nearly broken the Lisongs’ fence on his first day in Lilliput, and he hoped to avoid more scolding.
At least a scolding Lilliputian was better than a scared one. Jacob was self conscious enough without someone pointing and screaming in terror of him.
He hadn’t paused to watch the fountain for more than a minute when someone all but burst out of one of the tiny homes surrounding it. They stopped dead at the sight of him looming overhead and nearly dropped the crate in their arms.
Shit. “Ah, sorry,” Jacob muttered, not at all missing how the miniscule person flinched. “Just passing through.”
He glanced behind so he could shuffle back from the little cluster of buildings, but a tiny voice piped up. “Wait a second!”
Jacob eyed the little guy again, finding him hobbling closer with that crate. He squatted down as the Lilliputian came closer; he never liked standing over people. “Uh. What’s up?”
“You can help me out!” the tiny man declared.
Jacob’s face brightened with relief and amusement both. “I can do my best,” he assured. “What do you need?”
The Lilliputian paused at the edge of Jacob’s looming shadow. His tiny face seemed flushed, though as with any Lilliputian Jacob had trouble seeing for sure. He could see how shaky the man’s little grin was. “Well, mister giant, I have several boxes like this one that I’d like to get to the harbor,” he explained, lifting the box in his arms for emphasis. “I was going to call for a carriage or something to help haul it, but…”
Jacob grinned. He couldn’t help it. “I see,” he said, eyeing up the crate. “I can probably do that.”
“Great! I only have six boxes! Should be easy for ya, right?”
“Oh, it might be a little heavy,” Jacob teased. If it was Chase, he might nudge the little guy in jest. As it was, he didn’t push his luck. “I’ll be fine.”
The Lilliputian looked relieved. “Thanks! I’ll bring everything out!”
And that left Jacob crouched awkwardly near the cluster of houses while the tiny man set down his box and dashed off. He waited patiently and tried not to feel too self conscious about it. Hopefully no one was delaying their own errands to avoid him.
By the time the small man had his boxes all lying out in the yard, Jacob had a hand braced carefully on one of the roads leading away from the houses. “All set?” he asked.
The Lilliputian nodded excitedly. “Yes, thank you!”
Jacob lowered his other hand palm up and rested it next to all the boxes. “Set ‘em up for me?”
The tiny man hesitated, seeing the scale of Jacob’s hand from up close. Then, he hoisted up his boxes, one by one, carefully placing them on Jacob’s waiting palm. When he had the last box on Jacob’s hand, he stepped back and looked up expectantly. The hand remained where it was.
Jacob only had a sympathetic smile for the tiny man. “Ah. I need you to tell me where in the harbor I should take these,” he admitted. He should have made sure the little guy knew that ahead of time. “And if I can’t get to the spot you’re after, you might still need to unload these yourself …”
“Of course it’s fine!” the little guy blurted, his voice jumping an octave. “I’ll show you! Just … just a second!”
Jacob said no more and waited for the little guy to work up the courage. It took several long, awkward seconds, and he began to wonder if he should help the man find a different way to get his boxes to the harbor. Finally, right before Jacob developed a crick in his neck, the man strode up to his hand and stepped on.
He tripped immediately, but the effort was made and Jacob pretended not to notice it at all. He watched the horizon absently until the tentative steps across his palm ended. The man sat next to one of his boxes with one arm braced over it to keep it (and himself) steady. When Jacob looked down again, he waved. “I’m-I’m ready to go! It’s nothing, right, you carry people around all the time!”
Jacob tried and failed not to smile. “Yep, I sure do,” he agreed. If the guy was going to do the job of reassuring himself instead of Jacob having to do it, he wasn’t about to correct anything.
Technically, there were only a few people so far who let him carry them around at all.
“Just hang on and point me in the right direction, sir,” Jacob announced with a friendlier grin. After this, he wondered how long it might be before he was Lilliput’s official taxi service.
He has not! Mostly because I haven’t thought up any reason for him to go over there yet. Within the story (which has a very loose timeline), he doesn’t even know about it yet. He’s still getting used to living in Lilliput, and Chase tends to forget to tell him about some things until it’s too late.
Lilliput and Blefuscu are no longer at war, but they aren’t the friendliest pair of mini nations. There’s some tension there, and if two people from either side meet, there’s a small chance they will bicker about really mundane things.
I’ve been working on the next installment in the Chase in Lilliput AU! I don’t have a title for it yet, but it’s been so cute so far. I wanted to share an excerpt!
