Playing the Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact - Giant Attack arcade ROM from Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection on Steam, extracted with the Game Extraction Toolbox and running in MAME in the game's ROM-supported widescreen mode!
Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact - Tomboy (DJ Diskrot mix)
Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact - Giant Attack (CPS3, 1997) "You can't escape."
Third Strike is generally looked at as the pinnacle of the Street Fighter III series, some would say the 2D fighter genre in general. While I do feel that Third Strike is one of the best, I always liked its predecessor, 2nd Impact, just a little bit more. I feel that 2nd Impact's balancing is a little better, and the soundtrack is much stronger. Also, Sean's not completely useless. That's something.
Sometimes I think about starting a blog dedicated to "Player Select" themes. It's always been one of my favorite things about the fighting game genre, and it doesn't seem to get much attention. Maybe once "Wanna Take You for a Ride" hit, everyone collectively decided to never discuss these themes again.
