Cool Facts- The giant mudskipper gives us a good look of what might have happened when the first fish decided to come to land. They live in low tidal zones along the shores of the Pacific Ocean where they flop, roll, and walk on land. Due to mud keeping their skin wet, they are able to breath air both above and below water through their skin, similar to frogs. When it gets to hot, they retreat to their burrows for a cool off. During mating season, the males will put on an impressive display of furling out their back fin and jumping into the air to impress females.
