"A Poem for Gus"

the most wonderful and tragic game i’ve ever seen “what remains of edith finch“ by giant sparrow the story is unbelievably incredible and fantastic there was a chapter about a little boy and there was a poem which i liked vm yeah i’ve been searching for the text and it was quite hard to find it so i thought that other people might be interested in this poem and i had to watch the freaking walkthrough and write down those lines so here’s the full poem  i thought it was the right desicion to LET PEOPLE find and enjoy reading this poem one more time .-. thanks enjoy “ A Poem for Gus Who always said the wedding was a bad idea Our father never hit us kids, at least not very hard Before the day my brother said with teenage disregard That he'd be dead before he'd see a wedding in our yard My father made him come of course, but Gus stood far apart Just flew his kite and bottled up the storm inside his heart I tried to talk him out of it, but though he'd never met her ''We don't need a stepmom'', were the words that i remember From the time that photos came, dad order him ''come here!'' But Gus acclaimed and as the sign hold up his middle finger The wind picked up and panicked geese appeared and quickly went But all the humans did that day was go inside the tent The rain came down in bucket then but no one seemed afraid That nature might detroy the tent our dad had crudely made The thunder sounded much too close and full of angry power But all my father said to this was ''make the music louder!'' I wish that... I wish that i could truly say I thought about you on that day Out there on the beach alone, just you, the wind, the sea and foam But i didn't. Until we found you.  “

Some crew named Giant Sparrow #giantsparrow have made something truly special. "What Remains of Edith Finch" #whatremainsofedithfinch is a true story driven video game, with feeling and the balls to tackle the truly dark side of life, that being death, and turning it to poetry. It's not that long, probably 3-4 hours, but left me feeling so good about myself, through this story about family, life, children and adults, pain and relief, and finding beauty in the ugly. A masterpiece. No action, no cheap thrills. Slow pace, but from the heart. Trying to remember the last time I was this moved by a video game, but can't think of it ever being this gripping. Had the honor to see this game before it was released and got to Chat with some of the people behind the game while at PAX South this year. We knew it was gonna be a great game just by the way the devs were talking about it.
