Yes, I am that crazy that I have to split this list into two. This is gonna be a doozy.
See, the thing with OCs is that, obviously, I'd only really be exposed to OCs of friends or anyone in the same communities I am. Naturally, there's gonna be some bias, and I can't just judge their OCs as good characters on their own as a result. There's also the fact that for the term 'OC' to even be valid, the characters must pretty seamlessly fit into almost any universe they might be in, and not rely too much on their own setting to define who they are. So, in order to make this list more concise, I am gonna judge each character by their Aesthetics (both design and powers), their...uh...Actual Character, and Anything Personal or Petty I might like about them. I do not intend to make this list too objective. Also, this should kind of be a given, but SPOILERS ABOUND! That all said and done...
10. Shinji Karuma
Created by Disgaea4everdood
Yes, believe it or not, despite me participating in an RP where I literally orchestrated his (temporary) extermination/death, I have a soft spot for our irritating Karma Dealer here. Why? Well…
Anything Personal/Petty: I didn’t like him at first, to be honest. But to be fair, that was before I really became friends with Dave, and when we just started RP-ing with each other only. Back then, Shinji was an outright villain and really a Hazama wannabe, but most of all, he never lost. So, and I’m going to be cleanly honest here, the whole reason for the aforementioned RP was because I thought I could ‘put Shinji in his place’. But eventually I decided to just talk to Dave about it personally (because that’s what smart people should do…), and he was pretty cordial about my criticisms. Several sessions of crazy ideas and ironing out later, and Dave started writing this guy with a lot more self-awareness and a lot more humour! Yeah, I guess part of the reason I like Shinji now is a sort of petty smugness that I helped make him a better character, but then again, this section isn’t called ‘Petty reasons’ for no reason. He’s also a lot more fun to RP with now, but I’ll get to that later…
Aesthetics: He's a blue-haired Hazama who's always carrying around a briefcase. I think that should speak enough about what kind of person he is. That's okay, though, because suits and trilbies are always awesome, and You Gotta Have Blue Hair. As for powers, he's able to manipulate an ill-defined force of give-and-take and often uses it to bring only misfortune to others, which (don't get me wrong) is cool, but nonetheless maybe a little irritating to some. He doesn’t even manipulate much of good karma, but I suppose that might be an interesting idea for another time. One has to wonder what happens if his very powers are used on himself… but I digress. Overall, he has some pretty neat powers and a nice enough design to back it up!
Actual Character: Initially (and before his rewrite), it seems like Shinji just wants to be a dick to everyone he meets. I mean, there’s no other way to describe a guy who goes around claiming he has contracts that can fulfil your wishes, only to send your bad karma right back at you… is there? Well now, it doesn’t seem like he does it to be a complete jerk. For all his boastings about karma, he seems to acknowledge the weakness of that force, namely that it’s rather fickle. Sure, there was that one time he turned a vengeful youkai hunter into his personal hunting dog, but he never shoves Makise’s mistakes down her throat, so much as playing petty pranks on her to see her squirm. The guy’s almost weirdly enigmatic in that sense, because he doesn’t seem to have much of a goal, or an inclination towards either good or evil. Plus, remember how I said he’s more fun to RP with now? That’s because his sly attitude and trolling (which otherwise are pretty funny in and of themselves) is only matched by how many times it completely backfires on him. Almost every time he tries to prank someone now, he ends up getting dragged away kicking and screaming, being stalked by his terrible wife, or in general just getting hurt because of his antics. You could even say… Karma got back at him! (get rekt) And that’s good! It’s good comedy and storytelling to see a character lose as many times as they win. And with Shinji, everything is but an equal exchange…
9. Fharizi
Created by YeagerD (lineart by MagnumPhoenixZX)
TOO HOT FOR MINORS! Y'ALL SHOULD GO AWAY! Unless being in with a literally smoking hot succubus is your thing...
Anything Personal/Petty: Ah, I remember the days when I was really young and first joined Division Omega, and I was creeped out by anything remotely sexual... How times have changed. Of course, I guess that’s helped by the fact that Fharizi’s not just a sexual temptress – the woman’s got a job to make sure a certain someone doesn’t get out of line! Plus, she answers to the Darkbreaker, and when she saw Alyss and Sachiko, the first thing she did was to not kill them (she instead woke them up from unconsciousness with her smoke and boobs), so she’s at least somewhat trustworthy and a non-threat… which is more than I can say for most of Yeager’s characters…
Aesthetics: …I must be more girly than I thought, because the one design aspect about Fharizi that won me over was THAT. PINK. RIBBON/SHAWL/SKIRT THING THAT SHE WEARS AROUND HER WAIST. But in general her colour design is just super pretty to look at! She literally has ebony skin take that, Twilight, and that makes a nice contrast to all that pink and her grey hair. Dunno what’s up with her leafy-ear things, but they still look stylish! She has a really nice red-and-gold arm brace, and her legs seem to be at least partially robotic. I have no idea what happened to her, but that still looks cool nonetheless! As for her powers, while we haven’t seen the full extent of her magic capabilities yet, I gotta admit that having a pipe with an eternally burning furnace that creates literal fogs of smoke is an amazingly useful defensive power. How do I know this? Well let’s just say when you’re at the very dangerous infiltration frontline of an RP… yeah, my characters had to be rescued by her. And despite her innuendos, I’m rather thankful for that…
Actual Character: But to this day, I still can’t figure her out. For all her surly lines and double entendres, she does a pretty darn good job of hiding what is it she’s after or intends to do… much less how the Darkbreaker knows her and why he’s letting her do as she pleases. Nevertheless, I evidently have a soft spot for mysterious yet charismatic ladies who hide what they want with what they say but are still vaguely benevolent. So for now, I’ll be left wondering what else she has in store for me, and the rest of us at Eternity’s End, especially Damon. But we’ll get to him later…
8. Tiffany Hubrisson
Created by MikiBandy (1st picture by OWOQWQ)
Oh, hi there Ai Ebihara—I mean Tiffany! Boy, I can’t wait for her to summon her Personas and defeat her 7 evil exes!
Wait a minute…
Anything Personal/Petty: Yeah, a lot of reasons why I like Tiffany are largely unintentional. She’s an Alpha-B%@#$ turned confused but resolved Atoner Hero who can summon her Persona—I mean Ally, the manifestation of her true ugly self (so would that mean Ally’s more like a Shadow that doesn’t go berserk?), and she’s dressed in pink! How can I not end up liking her?! Plus, there’s a reason I jokingly called her Ai Ebihara – that girl has made me open up to liking the “Reformed Alpha-B@%$#” trope more and more, thanks to how fascinating and sympathetic they can be as characters. More on that later…
Aesthetics: In all seriousness though, I have to admit Tiffany does looks cute. Her signature Outside World outfit is incredibly trendy, with a nice pink-diamond vest, a short skirt that's a lighter shade of pink, her boots which are also also pink, and her blonde ponytail that makes a very nice contrast against all that pink cloth. Ironically, despite wearing something so fashionable to quickly mark her as an Alpha-B@$%#, its simplicity hints at the fact that she's not as far gone as people might think, and is merely just a very shallow girl (foreshadowing much?). Even when her clothes get destroyed, and she has to pull her hair down and wear an even simpler pink-and-white sailor outfit, she still looks cute, and it of course has the bonus of being symbolic of how she's developing as a character.
And yes, let's get to the elephant in the room, her JoJo Stand/Persona/Shadow, Ally. Is it ever explained how Tiffany got the power to summon Ally? Who knows? But who cares?! The ability to summon a manifestation of your true self, either of your greatest virtues or your greatest vices (Tiffany is the latter of course), and use it to fight others with its own unique abilities is one of my favourite concepts ever! Sure, Tiffany only uses Ally to use danmaku that she can't, and I'm not too sure what's up with Ally turning into an Angel near the end of the story, but I just enjoy the symbolic aspect of her power so much that I'm glad with what Miki did with it anyway (and also ALL DEM CHAINZ). Speaking of symbolism...
Actual Character: The idea of having an Alpha-B@$%# character that ends up getting comeuppance for her actions and slowly developing into a good guy isn't anything new - I'm sure it's been done before. But having such a character be our main protagonist gives Tiffany some unique points in my books! And even then, the concept could have easily been handled clumsily if a lesser writer just wrote about Tiffany being 'proven wrong' all the time, or have her Heel Face Turn happen out of nowhere. Thankfully, that's not the case, because good 'ol Miki instead chose to write the story in a way that allows us to understand the mind of our unlikely hero and actually almost sympathize with her, likely because she's writing from experience lol. And yes, maybe in the end Tiffany's not a very deep character. Yes, even though she had character development slowly occur to her over the course of the story, it wasn't a huge character realization for her, and yes, aside from her superficial achievements and her history with her ex-boyfriend, we don't know much about her life in the Outside. But for a story about a hubris-filled popular girl suddenly getting thrust into a world where she's completely vulnerable and almost everything is now stuck against her, but she forces herself to take different and more honourable actions, the fact that she had a natural and genuine character arc about turning into a more humble and open-minded person is rather satisfying to see. I'm actually kinda sad she hasn't appeared again ever since the end of Miss Y, but that's probably because her story is so tightly-wrapped up it might be difficult to get her to return. That is, outside an AU, which Miki and I have contemplated on before. But whether those ideas come to fruition or not, I'm not forgetting the one and only Miss Y anytime soon!
7. Seegan Nexus AND Damon Murkheart
Created by Seegan-Nexus and YeagerD respectively (and both drawn by the awesome MagnumPhoenixZX!)
With the addition of these two guys, I think this countdown list just turned into a warning sign to CAPITAL. And I am totally okay with that, because screw the South! DIVISION OMEGA FLIES HIGH!
Anything Personal/Petty: Anyway, you might be wondering: why did I tie these two together? Because they’re kinda like surrogate brothers to each other, they’re both artificial beings in some form of way (moreso Damon), they’re both that way because of CAPITAL’s antics, they both take pleasure in trashing that place as a result, and they’re both ABSOLUTE FIST-BROS WITH THE DARKBREAKER! It’s almost uncanny 8’D Granted, they both have their own unique aspects, but I thought it’d be both funny and fitting to compare the two together here, and the similar reasons I like them as characters.
Aesthetics: Their fashion choices are pretty much as different as night and day. Seegan has a 2cool4skool hoodie and jeans, along with a pair of headphones, but far from looking like an emo edgy teenager, he also has a pair of sunglasses TOTALLY not like the Darkbreaker which makes him look pretty rad approachable, ironically enough! But seriously, his design might be a little goofy to some, but to me it just reflects how much of an actually nice guy he is (thrashing corporations and being a terrible onii-san aside). Damon on the other hand is completely covered, both with thick black clothes, an awesome cape, and CAUTION tape… because you’d probably implode if you touched his radioactive skin. I mean, it’s not like he’s any less of a nice guy than Seegan (if perhaps a bit more vicious), but I think that outfit pretty much signals how much more of a serious straight man he is to his…teammates. But that’s fine with me – he can look awesome and still keep us all sane at the same time! Somewhat… 8’D
As for powers, they’ve both got awesome ones. Seegan can either slice your ears up with his insane shockwaves, enough to make you go deaf or fly across the room… or he can just slice up the rest of your skin with his blades. Efficient and flashy! =D Damon, meanwhile, will probably make Kirito melt into a puddle of wimpiness, because he may have a single katana, but said katana is, you know, radioactive. Forged with Leeridium, the very bizarre material that makes up his body, he could probably already take you down in one brain-melting hit, but you know, he prefers to make rapid successions of slices against much more tougher foes including his Mom, soooo it’s safe to say he already blows Kirito out the water :3 And keep in mind, anime in general has gotten me to become really tired of swords, so having a guy who actually makes his sword-usage unique is refreshing to say the least.
Actual Character: Okay, this will be the first (but definitely not the last) time on this list you guys get to see how much of a sucker I am for tragic but hopeful sob stories, because oh boy do these two guys make me feel. I’m gonna start with Damon first, since his isn’t ‘as bad’… I said with quotation marks. Damon is one of the only two survivors left of the race of Nihin, an artificial race made by the dreaded Baroness Ruina Zine Einzer in her quest FOR SCIENCE! for ‘perfection’. Aside from Damon and his ‘sister’ Sammy, Ruina off’d the rest of the race. So yes, Damon doesn’t quite like his ‘Mother’ at all! It also doesn’t help that Ruina literally made a fake planet for the race to live in, subjecting them to a life of what is essentially slavery and constant fights for survival. I don’t think it should surprise anyone that after the Darkbreaker put some dents in Damon’s skull and then revealed to him the truth about his life, Damon rebelled and left to join Division Omega in the ‘real’ world.
But what I like about Damon is that for all the terrible crap he’s gone through and his entire life essentially being one big guinea pig test, he’s not downtrodden or emo or bitter about it. Oh, he still wants revenge, but what’s the first thing he does when he steps into the true face of Eternity’s End? Marvel at the rising sun, the blue sky, the lush trees, and in general just take in and enjoy the world he was previously denied… and also challenged the Darkbreaker to another battle of fists. Almost kind of like the Little Mermaid (yes I am actually making this comparison here), he’s excited to see this new world he’s in, and his enthusiasm, however subtle, is so much more uplifting to see than if he were just a mopey vengeful jerk! And speaking of which, despite his awkward attitude, he legitimately is a nice and at times compassionate guy. Part of the reason he’s continuing to fight Ruina and the rest of his ‘siblings’ is in hopes of teaching the people around him to truly be free – and not in the dumb childish and whiny way that teenagers can be at times, but to find a world like the one he found, where he could really feel what it meant to be alive. The fact that he’s found friends in Division Omega who stand by him to be ~paaaart of that woooorrld~ is probably one of the many reasons he even keeps fighting.
And speaking of friends, let’s get to Seegan now! His life wasn’t really dictated by CAPITAL, so much as it was utterly wrecked and ripped to pieces by. An orphan who became a test subject to Aether experiments and turned into a super-powered killing machine with a split personality…demon…thing inside him that convinces him to do said killing? When he was only 8? Yeah. Were it not for the fact that he made a few friends in his facility, and then went on to join Division Omega where he found true companions, he probably wouldn’t be the carefree music-loving destruction master (until I came along, of course) we all know him as. Much like Damon, I really admire this guy for putting on such a big smile to everyone and everything despite all the crap he’s been through. Although…he was close to dropping it all entirely.
In the same RP where Fharizi came in to help, we had to bust Seegan out of a CAPITAL prison, where he was once again subjected to cruel experiments… and the reason he was even there was because a month prior, that ‘other person’ inside him (he’s called Erebus btw) kind of made him go nuts and wreck part of a city. When we finally got to him, he didn’t want to be rescued. He was overcome with so much guilt and torment from everywhere that he didn’t believe his friends would ever forgive him. Of course, that’s totally untrue, because not even that changes the fact that we all got his back! But you know what? Seeing the usually smiley and jokester Seegan suddenly turn into a shivering and tortured wreck… yeah that kind of did a number on me too. Perhaps even more so than Damon, this guy’s been carefully hiding all sorts of pain and trauma under his smile, just for the sake of his dear friends and teammates. It took the admiration I had for him to even greater heights, because man does this guy try. Sure, I may just be a sucker for guys with pitiable backstories, but I do not relish in mere suffering or pain. I want to see someone who can admit how strong or weak he is, but punch through life and pain anyway alongside those he cares about. And that’s who I see in front of me right now, no?
Alright, that’s enough walls of text of sappiness! Next up on the list is…
…oh no…

6. Dras von Talon
Created by colddetectivetriumph
*smash smash* GET OFF MY KEYBOARD YOU SHINY-OBSESSED TRASH!
D<< … 8^8 *FRRRZZRZTZTZT*
Okay…I think he’s gone, for now… where was I?
Anything Personal/Petty: …yeah, for as much as he gives a hard time to Visionary Requiem, Seth, and several other Ethereal beings he’s tortured over the centuries (maybe millenniums), I can’t help but find my arch-nemesis Von Talon to be a… fascinating individual. I mean, how can one guy be the fearsome CEO of the Oedipus Syndicate that runs the entire West of Eternity’s End (What, you thought I was kidding?), and yet be so silly at the same time? He uses emoticons on signs to talk, for crying out loud!
Aesthetics: I should probably talk about his design, by the way. Yes, he is that tall, and yes it’s freaking terrifying. But for a terrifying CEO guy, he sure does have a rather decent sense of fashion. Somehow, he manages to make a green and purple suit look good! And plus, there’s that visor, which is totally NOT a reference to Godot from the Ace Attorney series. But to be fair, it glows gold and not red – and no, that does not make it less scary! Quite the opposite! D;
As for powers, what little we’ve seen him capable of…oh boy. You’d think that colossal size is bad enough. But you wanna know what’s inside those armless sleeves hanging off his giant coat? Arm cannons. Ask Seth – he’s been on the receiving end of how much those hurt. Needless to say, if there were more things Von Talon’s capable of, I don’t want to find out what they are!
Actual Character: So okay, for how terrifying and yet memetic he is, why is my arch-enemy so high on this list? Well if Fharizi has shown anything, it’s that if you write competently, it’s very easy to make me like a mysterious and enigmatic character with little info about him. Von Talon is no exception. As funny as he acts, he’s still the guy who Visionary Requiem viciously battles in order to stop him from capturing and experimenting on countless innocent Ethereals and youkai. This is also the guy who hoards shiny things anywhere and everywhere he goes like a malicious greedy dragon (guess that explains the coat…). But despite all the terrible stuff he does, we still don’t have much information on why. And although some of his more… sentimental (but no less terrifying, again quite the opposite) experiments have given me clues, this guy does his best to keep anything concrete about him under wraps. And that’s just what makes him so good – he’s almost like a mythological monster in the purest sense! Cruel, very inhumane, and plenty enigmatic, yet still eccentric enough that people do not regard him as a complete evil lacking in sentience. I look forward to when I finally crack open that cold, hard metal mask of his and find out just what’s behind it. But all the same, he’s no less an enjoyable and sinister monster right now.
…now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to begin removing all shinies from the vicinity and Talon-proofing my room >_>
(( PROBABLY katamari damacy??? which also happens to be one of my favorite games of all time SO YEAH!! i love katamari so much... i’ve been craving to play it again for the past few days. ))
♥ - A diary entry about a crush my muse has. For Audrey!
“OMIGOSH diary promise to keep this a secret (especially from Rosemary) but I just saw the cutest girl in the woods today!!! Not as cute as her of course, but she comes pretty close.
She with two other girls, a cute pink one and short blue one. Can you believe it!? They looked like they were pretty busy though, and the blue one looked kinda scary so I decided not to bother them. I haven’t seen anything like any of them before, but gosh was she sure cute. She looked super strong too!? A bit quiet but a huge cutie pie.
I wonder what they were all doing there?? Could have something to do with the commotion that’s been going on down by the great tree. I guess a lot of weird things have been going on around here lately, but I kinda like it! Cute girls are definitely better than some dumb monster story.
p.s. do you think I should work up the nerve to go say hi to Madame Flurrie today?? The first time I did was so embarrassing, I really gotta do over ughhh”
Audrey having a secret eating habit that no one knows about
((Okay that is definitely more than one word and incredibly specific but I can actually work with this one so:
she probably eats meat raw when no one is looking because she’s impatient but also just.... really likes it raw. and she is kind of embarrassed by it!!! i don’t think this is actually very unusual for piranha plants but her family eats things cooked always so she has no idea.))
Audrey looks so much like Sapphire from Steven Universe!
((YEAH, i had noticed this when designing her, and i probably accidentally based her look off of sapphire a little?? it is such a cute hairstyle though so I cannot help it, I really love it too much!! ;v; ))
((Why are you so cruel, asking a cosplayer this. This is literally the hardest question in the world for me cries... every character on my cosplanner. And probably more who aren’t bc there’s probably characters I want to cosplay that I forgot to put on it rip.))
