Animal Boyfriend Play Guide - Gacha
There are several types of gacha in the game, but all of them operate on the same principles. Each time you play a gacha, your ‘spin’ is given a number per the random number generator (RNG).  This generator operates on a global basis, so the more people that ‘spin’ at the same time, the higher your chances are to get a rare drop.  There is not a way to cheat this system and there is no guaranteed way to get an item or all items from any of the gacha, but doing spins when the others are most likely to play the gacha (during ending campaigns and when the gacha is first released) will give you the best chances to get higher rarity items.  Also, 5x spins have a bit better chances for rare drops just because the more spins equals higher chances of RNG giving you a good drop.  Below is the list of gacha and what is required to play them:
These are the new formats for the gacha and come out in sync with the events as well as infrequently throughout the month to bring back old gacha sets in the new gacha format.  Everyone gets one free spin from this type of gacha.  After your free spin, you can either spend 300 G, one pink gacha ticket, or three blue gacha coupons to play again.  Each spin has a chance to drop a normal, rare, or super rare item, but earning 1,000 GPT will guarantee you a super rare drop.  The drop rate for the super rare is up from .05% chance to a whopping 6% chance so you’ll most likely get one for free even if you only have your free spin and/or a few tickets/coupons.  If you are wanting to get the 1,000 GPT and guarantee a super rare drop, it’ll take 5-20 tickets, 15 - 60 coupons, or 1,500 G - 6,000 G (16.48$ - 60.47$).  If you wait for the gacha GPT up campaigns, you’ll need 5-13 tickets, 15 - 39 coupons, or 1,500 - 3,900 G (16.48$ - 39.44$) to get the 1,000 GPT bonus super rare.
Normal gacha (Retired format)
These are the gacha that come out frequently and usually last for a few months.  Everyone gets one free spin from this type of gacha.  After your free spin, you can either spend 300 G or one golden gacha ticket to play again.  Each spin has a chance to get a normal, rare, or super rare drop, but earning 1,000 GPT will guarantee you a super rare drop.  If you are looking to get a ‘free’ super rare, you’ll need to have 5- 20 tickets on hand.  If you are wanting to play for an SR using G, you’ll need 1,500 - 6,000 G (16.48$ - 60.47$). When these gacha are getting ready to be retired, you’ll get a gacha campaign that will grant 30 extra GPT per spin.  Saving tickets for this time is the most efficient way to use your plays as you’ll need 5-13 tickets (1,500 - 3,900 G [16.48$ - 39.44$]) to get a super rare and the rare drop rate is increased.
Mini gacha (Retired format)
These are the gacha that are paired with the normal gacha.  Everyone gets one free spin from this type of gacha.  After your free spin, you can either spend 100 G or one silver gacha ticket to play again.  Each spin has a chance to get a normal, rare, or super rare drop, but earning 1,000 GPT will guarantee you a super rare drop.  If you are looking to get a ‘free’ super rare, you’ll need to have 5- 20 tickets on hand.  If you are looking to buy a super rare, you’ll need 500 - 2, 000 G (3.96$ - 19.98$).  When these gacha are getting ready to be retired, you’ll get a gacha campaign that will grant 30 extra GPT per spin.  Saving tickets for this time is the most efficient way to use your plays as you’ll need 5-13 tickets (500 - 1,300 G [3.96$ - 12.99$]) to get a super rare and the rare drop rate is increased.
Limited gacha (Retired format)
These are the gacha that come out a few times a month and are usually tied to an event or  have holiday items.  Everyone gets one free spin from this type of gacha.  After your free spin, you can either spend 400 G or one blue gacha ticket (only 3 of these have ever been given) to play again.  Each spin has a chance to get a normal, rare, or super rare drop, but earning 1,000 GPT will guarantee you a super rare drop.  If you are looking to get a super rare you’ll need between 2,000 - 8,000 G (19.80$ - 79.20$) unless it’s an ending campaign then you’ll need 2,000 - 5,200 G (19.80$ - 52.46$).
This is a special gacha for people that bought premium packs to unlock it. Â Each spin costs 100 G and there are no free spins or tickets you can use on it. Â Also, you only have access to this gacha for as long as the month you purchased the premium pack lasts.
Friend gacha (Android only)
You can play this gacha if you are using and Android device and someone enters your friend code.  You’ll get one pink gacha ticket for every code entered.  This feature is not available to iOS users.
These appear very infrequently and often have some of the best items in the game. Â There are 3 tiers to it and they are only available for 4 days. Â Each tier has a different set of 3 items and the cost range from 300 G to 600 G per tier. Â On the final day of the gacha, you have a chance to get an item from any of the tiers. Â There are no free plays or gacha tickets available for this gacha.
Neither of these are ‘gacha’, but they work in a similar fashion.  There is a K version and a G version of the items available.  Each spin costs either 500 - 1,000 K or 150 G although you can use 500 - 1,000 G to buy packs with some of the items in them.  These do not have free spins or tickets that you can use.  They also show up once or twice a month and are available for a few days.
These appear reasonably frequently and aren’t ‘gacha’ but work in the same fashion.  There are 1-3 tiers and normally cost G, but occasionally one will cost K.  The first tier is bronze and these items will cost 1,000 - 20,000 K or 50 - 300 G per play. The item drops are random.  The second tier is silver and these are packs that you can buy for 300 - 500 G.  They often have several of the items from the random plays, but not all of them.  The final gold tier has packs as well and often has items the other two tiers do not.  These packs cost 500 - 5,000 G.  There are no free plays or tickets available for the fun bags. Â
These are a newer type of gacha and so far have been coming out once a month.  They have amazing items and lots of recolors of older gacha items.  Each play is 300 G and there’s usually a 6x spin option.  There are no duplicates in this gacha which is very nice.  The number of items vary and there are all three tiers of items, normal, super rare, and rare.  As of yet there’s not a free spin or gacha ticket available for these, but the Japanese version has a login bonus campaign that grants an orange box gacha ticket so we may see this in the future.
This is not a gacha, but the way it works is similar.  You need 8 exchange  tickets for an accessory spin and 10 for an outfit spin. There is also a background you can purchase with your exchange tickets.  As of yet there has been no updates to the Bot’s contents in English.  In Japan you get recolors of gacha items from the Recycle Bot so hopefully we’ll get an update.
