      For the hundredth time since the first text he swore under his breath, still toying with the keyring. Jeremy couldn't be far. He could go reasonably pick him up. Could reasonably go break up whatever party was going on by way of police or credentials. It seemed a bit melodramatic and yet he continued to finger his way over the ridges on his car keys. He was certain if he'd ever lost it, he could now recreate it with a sketch and a 3D printer.

       "Idiot," he whispered angrily, opting for another scotch rather than a tirade that seemed damnably close to bubbling over. He wasn't in the mood to draw or do anything productive. Sleep had been ripped away as an option and for no bloody good reason either. Wasn't as if he expected him to show up. Wasn't as if Klaus wanted him to spend the night. Every night, nose tucked in against his neck and brown hair curled every which way in the morning. The distinctive smell of charcoal and earth permeating through to the pillows. Suddenly Klaus wasn't sure if the original insult was meant for the boy, student, he had allowed into his life haphazardly or for himself. Putting the bottle away, his body urged him to the couch, grumbling again as he turned on the television, a last ditch effort to recover some sort of peace.
