The Philippine Navy (PN) is planning to acquire two brand new Dry Docks, as revealed by Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro recently during a Congressional Hearing. A "Dry Dock" by the Way is a Dock which can be drained of Water to allow for the Inspection and Repair of a Ship's Hull.
The two Dry Docks will have a capacity of 3,500 and 8,000 tons and will be used for the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of the PN's Vessels. Other Equipment to complement the Docks like Boat and Synchro Lifts, Floating and Harbour Cranes, Tugboats, etc. will also be acquired.
If these Plans push thru, then they will greatly enhance the capability of the PN to service on its own its Vessels.

Ambassador Jose Romualdez recently confirmed that the F-16 Fighting Falcon Aircraft and other Military Equipment that the United States (US) will provide to the Philippines will have “Strings Attached” to them. If so, then as I mentioned before, we should be getting a Package no less than what the Argentinians got for their F-16s.
