Alright, let me tell you guys a true story that LITERALLY just happened:

I was wandering around the glass desert, looking for tangle slimes and painted hens when suddenly an achievement was unlocked. “Now” I thought, “what did I do to deserve an achievement?”. It turns out a gold slime spawned in the middle of a hen nest, ate 3 hens (I suppose), popping not one but 3 gold plots. I don’t even have the “sure shot” in this save yet. I cried from laughing so hard!

BUUT THAT'S NOT THE BEST PART!!

Or maybe it is, but it gets better! So after getting those magical gold plorts I return home. I started thinking about how the gilded ginger was the only slimepedia entry I was missing. "I wish I could find one, just like that" and well, I turn around a big stone exiting the glass desert and there it was, a perfect gilded ginger, waiting to be plucked out of the dirt. I've never felt so lucky in my live!!

I saw that you said you had a route to find gilded gingers in the glass desert, is there any way you can post a video or a couple of gifs showing it? I am terrible at finding gingers

Well, I just polished up my ginger route yesterday while streaming and I’m planning on running the route again tonight, but here’s the route I used! All of the information I used for the route is from the wiki here.

I decided to check just 19 spots every day out of a known 53 spots from the wiki. Giving me roughly a ¼ chance of finding a ginger every day. Here’s the map of my route, blue arrows indicate using a jetpack:

To help me remember each location I placed a gold echo over each spot, doing this really helped me remember exactly where each spot was.

I put a teleporter right in front of the first location and used the tangle teleporter to take me home. Here’s photos of each location:

It takes about 3 minutes to run through the route each day. I hope this helps!

What's gilded ginger and ware can I find it

In Slime Rancher, ONLY in the Glass Desert, the Gilded Ginger grows once a day and always changes places where it grows. It’s only function is as bait to catch a Golden Gordo when put in a Master Snare!

It looks like this in the ground, resembling a solitary carrot with unusual leaves and grows in all sorts of places. Most commonly I find it behind where the Mosaic Gordo sits (there is a treasure pod there) or up high, though it can be anywhere.

You REALLY have to look hard for it though and you only have 24 in-game hours before it resets. AND to be safe, I’d give up after 23 hours because there is a chance if you do find it before it respawns it might still be unuseable and withered which is a real shame.

The best thing to do is look for it and then at 23:00 go back to your ranch and sleep until 6 and then go back to look again.

HERE IS A LIST OF POSSIBLE PLACES WITH PICTURES!

Though be aware that there are MORE locations as well and it often spawns close by to the locations listed. From experience it almost always grows in places where slimes aren’t likely to get to it so check there first.

Develop a strategy. Don;t bother trying to look in EVERY location because it’s almost impossible to look at every location before the time is up. Check preferred spots and develop a strategy for how you go about it, glance quickly and move on. Eventually you WILL find one. And don’t bother putting it in a snare other than the Master Snare or you’ll end up wasting the ginger. (I would know, I tested it and got a pink Gordo....)

IT. TAKES. HOURS of searching for a single one at first. And it took even longer to find the others. I’m used to all the places it grows but even I do not always find it. It’s very hit or miss so be patient and good luck!
