I’m super glad with your idea of gilgameshian! As a man of color, I always HATED achillean since… a huge part of Achilles’ deal was 1) having slaves 2) wanting back his war bride 3) being Greek. Gilgamesh is in No Way Perfect, but I find it awesome that we move AWAY from Greek influences (because… c’mon. Greeks.) and Gilgamesh and Enkidu’s relationship is just… #goals (save the whole destroying a forest thing). Also I’m just a huge fan of the epic in general! Thank you kindly for the idea, mind if I start using it for myself?
