NOT GORDON RAMSEY
She does not need to sneak into the castle, but she finds it more fun to enter this way. Swinging a little sack behind her back, the bohemian climbs onto the balcony, leaving some of nature's best on the pristine marble. No time to clean however, as she bounds into the princess's room and presents her with a crown of daisies and sunflowers joined by twigs. "They are lighting the Christmas tree in the square, let's go see it!"
Among the many holiday festivities, decorating was Rapunzel’s favorite. The castle was quickly adorned by familiar heirlooms made up of glass blown ornaments and sparkly gold threaded curtains. In each room was placed a small pointed tree that had been imported from farther away kingdoms she’d yet to visit. Candles were like almost ceremoniously in front of every window of the castle and it made it seem like the sun glowed from its very core. (And some would say it did now that she’d return!)
There was a new sort of magic that you couldn’t bottle up and sell by the streetside for a gold piece. It was warm and real and bright! As if little bits of lanterns heated each soul anew.
This was only her third real Christmas and the other’s didn’t fare as nicely as she’d hope. It was her only wish that this one would be better, more grand, more adventurous!
The appearance of her dear friend (who was no stranger to scaling walls it seems) was a promising start and the thoughtful gift only a bonus.She meets the girl in a tight embrace and pillows her face into the thick wild waves she called hair. She smells of the earth and a freedom she’d only ever had a taste of herself. To be near Esmeralda was to be near the heart of the world (or so Rapunzel said.)
It was only after such loving glances and mumbled thank yous that she takes the gift and presses it to her nose.“I still can’t see how adding fire to a wooden, fresh tree is a good idea but it hasn’t set on fire yet, has it?” She answers as she turns to face the mirror. The gifted crown replaces her royal tiara and settles nicely ‘round the top of her head. Flowers suited her more than gold and jewels anyhow. She was more fairy than girl. More nymph than princess.
“I love the lights but it’s the wishes that make me the happiest. Everyone in the kingdom decorates the tree with a paper note tied to a branch. The notes are written with everyone’s hopes and dreams for the upcoming year. My parents would always wish for me to return and I came back, so maybe everyone else’s wishes could come true too.”
I was just listening to Are You Coming To The Tree, and like, I had a lot of feelings for a character that’s not Mary. And. ;n;
innocently watching new girl with my little sister and then suddenly DYLAN O’BRIEN
