Daily MCO Drink #333, MCO Day #334: THE PURITAN, made with 2 parts The Botanist Gin, 1 part Dolin Dry vermouth, 1/2 part Yellow Chartreuse, 1 dash Angostura Orange Bitters, stirred over ice and strained with orange zest garnish. Like a dry martini with lovely herbal Chartreuse notes, this is the sort of uncomplicated, clean, yet tasty cocktails that I find myself gravitating to more and more these days. Adapted from a recipe on Difford’s guide, which says this cocktail was said to have originated at the end of the 19th century. On a side note, The Botanist has been my go to dry gin most of the time, but I’ve finally depleted my stock.
