Queens Of The Stone Age - Villains
Queens Of The Stone Age has never been stuck in patterns. Each and every single one of their records feels like a step towards a different direction: the essence of the band is always there, but mastermind Josh Homme and his collaborators certainly like to mix it up and change the aesthetics of each album.
From the dry punch of “Songs For The Deaf” to the metallic groove of “Era Vulgaris”, the band has proven its flexibility time and time again.
“Villains” is no different. The band surprised their fans by announcing they would be collaborating with Mark Ronson, a producer primarily known for his work in pop music and electronica. This album doesn’t stray too far from the band’s comfort zone, but it takes the twist you would expect: it’s a collection of unapologetic dance/rock tunes, embracing the sleazy side of the band.
Frontman Josh Homme completely lives up to his “Ginger Elvis” persona, delivering performances with a strong theatrical flair, matching the album’s party vibes.
To all of you out there in some crazy weather, be careful out there. Be patient.
And we're off... Another week comes to a close and our minds start to get creative in a diffferent light. Everyone needs a breather. Great shot of the ginger Elvis. Have any of you heard the new album? #queensofthestoneage #qotsa #villians
