A Gintama episode a day keeps the ending away…Episode 166 Part 2

Continued from Part 1: 

I loved so many moments in this episode that one post was not enough to list them all:

26) Despite his anger, Hijikata has a pretty good form. 

27) I just love how much they invaded each others’ personal space even when it wasn’t completely necessary.

28) Ok, if there was one thing I was less than enamored about in this episode, it was of course the whole shitting ordeal. Of course I appreciate that it was  Okita’s supreme sense of sadism that got them into that mess, but it was still gross. I love Gintoki and Hijikata to the moon and back, and I love GinHiji to the moon and back, but I have to draw the line SOMEWHERE and defecation is where it is.

29) How I wish their rendezvous was under less trying circumstances.

30) In between their fighting, this sexy moment happened. It’s like they were back to dancing.

31) That still looks so suggestive to me, especially considering the fact that Gintoki was standing behind him. (note: the handcuffs suddenly looked like they were not connected to anything. Lol)

32) I wish I can unsee this.

33) Honestly, how can their relationship ever be the same after sharing a dump together? That’s like next level intimacy.

34) From their motorcycle ride, I see why some folks think of Hijikata as the top.

35) Anyone who saw them on the bike probably assumed they were having sex. Realistically speaking, the whole of Edo had to think they were a couple after what happened in this episode.

36) I just love the choice of dialogue the anime team came up with in this episode! It’s like they CAN’T STOP from being suggestive!

37) It looked like they were having a quiet, romantic moment over a board game or something. They could’ve been playing Battleship. 

38) Looked kinky with everyone watching. And I’m also more used to Gintoki being on top of Hijikata. Lmao.

39) Couples that fight together, stay together.

40) Seriously how CUTE are they?? Back to dancing again. This episode is seriously the gift that keeps on giving.

41) I just loved watching them fight and tango together. SO FREAKING ADORABLE!!!!

42) I wish they could fight together like that all the time. They’re so in sync!

43) Gin-chan SAVED Hijikata’s life right there! Hijikata clearly owes Gintoki his life now. He’s Gintoki’s.

44)  Omggggggg so much hand holding!!!

45) That’s my heart in the back there because it was no longer able to contain all the happiness I was feeling.

46) Sougo is a GinHiji shipper CONFIRMED.

47) I loved how they were being such tsunderes even all the way til the end, despite the romantic sunset and soft lighting.

48) I firmly believe Okita was totally trying to play match-maker for the two of them, and it’s obvious it worked. I see that slight smile on Hijikata’s face there.

A Gintama episode a day keeps the ending away...Episode 81

Episode Title: A Woman's Best Make Up Is Her Smile

MY 20 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN EPISODE 81 (manga chaps 122 and 123):

I wish the anime team had found a way to extend this arc for just a few more episodes. Love it so much! I am going to continue to hope that the next live action will cover this arc but I wonder what they’ll do about Princess Bubbles. CG? Person in a suit? Even little Binbokusai might be a bit of a challenge. Either way, would love to see it brought to life with the current live action cast, and I hope they find an awesome actress to play Kyuubei. (and yes, I’m assuming there’s going to be a third movie because hope can become reality)

1) Very cool silhouette of Shinpachi facing off against Kyuubei.

2) I was so proud of Shinpachi; he was giving his entire being into the fight.

3) It looked like they were doing a dance; Binbokusai was obviously having fun.

4) Gin-chan’s look before he did his really cool feint totally made my knees go weak. That was just such a sexy move. 

5) His almost delicate winning strike. Seriously, Gintoki is just so...dreamy and awesome.

6) That HURT ME. Like, even I felt the pain. Normal people would’ve had their rib cage shattered by that. Not Gin-chan of course...he got back up like a second later as if it were nothing. Man cannot be a human being, I tell you.

7) Shinpachi had a really cool move of his own too. I didn’t go weak in the knees but my heart almost burst from pride for him. 

8) Dear Kagura, always making sure to keep Pachi-kun humble. 

9) This was a slight change from the manga and I appreciated it: Sougo recognizing Shinpachi as a rival for vice chief because Kondou was already announcing he would be happy to eventually hand over his Shinsengumi to his future bro-in-law.

10) Kyuubei looked so beautiful and sad at the same time that it just broke my heart.

11) I started tearing up when she started crying. To me, Kyuu-chan IS a strong person with a kind heart...girl or boy regardless.

12) TEARS. I love Kyuubei too. She deserves all the love and friendship in the world.

13) And then we jump to Kondou’s pre-wedding ceremony where consummation is involved. I felt his horror, but was also, once again, relieved that their genders weren’t switched cuz...I can’t even go there, it is too brutal to even imagine.

14) Seriously, those gorillas are total pervs. Can’t believe they even let their children watch. 

15) Shinpachi being a total tupperware wife but also Kagura looked so freaking adorable and happy munching on them bananas!

16) Fierce.

17) Poor Kondou. He was so HAPPY and TOUCHED for the few seconds the illusion lasted. 

18) This was not in the manga and I really loved it because in my crazy fangirl mind, it gave me so much more hope about him and the one I believe he is meant to be with (who is peeing together with him...technically).

19) I felt more sympathy for Princess Bubbles than Kondou here because he’s used being beat by Tae-chan, he likes it, but Bubbles really was just an innocent bystander. It’s not like she really wanted to get married; she did it out of duty too.

30) The best make up completely.

SHIPS TALLY: 

Kyuubei x Otae: always, for Kyuu-chan’s sake, I wish Tae-chan could return her love, even if it meant an unhappy ending for my preference. She just deserves so much love.

Kondou x Otae: ugh, look how happy he was. Naturally, I of course wished that Tae-chan was rescuing him because she had actually fallen in love with him. 

Kondou x Princess Bubbles: again, with much apologies to the princess who deserved better treatment for sure: NO CAN DO.

Gintoki x Otae: the scene was set up to be rather romantic. It was like they were two lovers who had a falling out.

Gintoki x Okita: Sougo was pretty much attached to Gintoki throughout the entire banquet. I mean, he practically insisted on going to the boys’ room with him. 

Hijikata x Otae: her coworkers probably think he’s her regular by now.

Gintoki x Kagura: she was very Gin-focused throughout most of the arc.

Gintoki x Hijikata x Okita: they’re basically showing their dicks to each other. I’m supposed to NOT ship that? That’s insane and downright inhumane.

Disclaimer: Gintama is not only about shipping. Gintama is hilarious, clever, exciting, poignant, heart-breaking, loving, brilliant, and just completely unbelievably amazing.  It is only due to Sorachi-sama’s immense generosity that I am able enjoy Gintama on an extra another level, the shippy level, and I am forever grateful for that. MY 10 15 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 334:

(I LOVE THIS ARC!!!)

She’s so KYUUUTTE!!!!

Right off the bat, I already love the first two panel. The reason why Gintoki and Kagura had to use the public baths was just so priceless and perfect.

PACHI BUTTCRACK!!!

Very subtle of Kondou.

I might’ve passed out from happiness first time I saw this. Yorozuya and Shinsengumi together in a bath?? That fanfic writes itself.

I like Hedoro, I like him fine. But still I gotta admit I cursed him and his family a little when they showed up because they interrupted what otherwise could’ve been a lot of naked funtimes between Gintoki, Shinpachi and the Shinsengumi boys. Damn this Dakini fam.

THEY’RE ALL NAKED IN THE SAME BATH TUB. Pardon me while I wipe up the blood coming from my nose.

Damn this intruding Dakini family! The fact that they’re all male didn’t make me feel any better cuz they’re all scary AF and way too bara (and alien) for my taste. They would hurt our boys. You know what, I don’t even want to go there. Ew.

Poor babies, they must’ve been experiencing massive collective shrinkage.

I was more concerned about the fact that they’re all naked underwater now. Omigawds.

Why why WHY must old Dakini ballsack be involved???

Ok Hijikata was totally channeling Gintoki’s bullshitting abilities. No one can convince me otherwise.

I wanted to enjoy this more but I couldn’t stop thinking that it was an old alien’s ballsack they were touching. 

Kondou is just a few chest hairs shy of passing for a Dakini.

I honestly don’t know who I felt worse for.

SHIPS TALLY:

Gintoki x Hijikata x Okita: I am 100% on board with this and have been for a while. Them naked and within close proximity to each other is all I need to be super happy.

Shinpachi x Kondou: I mean, Shinpachi was literally drilling Kondou’s ass so....

Kondou x Otae: ok, he was being super pervy but I want to think it was out of love and not creepiness.

Kondou x Gintoki: out of context, this looked veryyyyy questionable. 

Everyone x Okita: I am also 100% on board with this. It looks like they were all diving for Sougo’s treasures.

A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 113

My New Year’s resolution for 2017: re-read a chapter of Gintama every day starting from the beginning and relive the joy that is Gintama lesson-by-lesson. Hopefully I will never reach the end of the series should Sorachi-sama have a change of heart and never conclude it.

What I Loved in Lesson 113: (LOTS!! Especially all the SHIPS!!)

Tae-chan trying to be the model bride.

Kondou and Kagura being adorable idiots.

Out of context, Kondou comes off like he’s creeping on Shinpachi instead.

Bless her silly little heart.

Her occasional bouts of idiocy is what makes Kagura-chan so lovable.

TOO CUTE. 

Her plate placement...I laughed so hard. She is just PRECIOUS.

Kagura’s expression...that was 100% Okita. Hijikata’s reaction was just as perfect.

The surprise Yagyuu leader in the game.

Putting the OkiKagu-ness of the moment aside, that was a pretty awesome attack on Sougo’s part. He literally came out of NOWHERE.

Ships Tally:

KyuuTae: they’re pretty much fiancees at this point.

KonTae: after all, she’s the reason he’s there challenging the Yagyuu dojo.

GinKagu: since she wanted to be paired up with him.

HijiOki: Okita put his plate on for him! How sweet was that??

HijiKagu: Of course I can’t be on this ship but I can see why it would sail. I respect that.

GinHiji: their flirting always fills me with warmth and fuzzies and giggles.

GinHijiOki: my holy Gintama trinity.
