I will not mind if you say it's not my business, but I'm curious. The rooster thing...did she attack you because Promnis week deleted her reblog, or did Promnis week delete her reblog because she attacked you? How does a garbage fire like this even get started?
Well....here, let me get into the chronology of all this a little.
So I helped mod Promnis Week. Mainly I just reblogged submissions the week of. Warmblackrooster submitted a fic and @ the promnisweek blog as we asked, so I go to reblog their submission. Except nothing was showing up (I was on mobile) so I thought tumblr was glitching out. Eventually I went onto my laptop and I could see their post, but I still couldn’t reblog it.
I ended up linking their post to a friend to see if someone else could reblog it. My friend could reblog it (and did), and that was when I figured out that the user had me blocked before promnis week even started (my main, luminosityblue). They also started posting that they were upset the Promnis week hadnt relogged their submission and they thought that one of the mods had them blocked. Obviously the opposite was true.
The deleted reblog was an accident, because my friend said that they did not manually delete the reblog at all. As far as I know that was purely tumblr being weird. At this point the user threw a fit, blocking my friend over the deleted reblog, saying that they spent hours crying and were ripping their hair out.
That was Saturday night (1/27). Sometime between then and the next morning, warmblackrooster figured out that I was one of the mods for Promnis week. At that point started a long string of angry vague posts accusing me of fetishizing trans characters in my fics and threatening me with injury, etc. They said they blocked me and didn’t want to associate with me, only to later go back on my blog and then respond to posts I made about their threats with more threats.
What really prompted me to make that post about blocking them was some posts they made around midday EST today. They were again accusing me of fetishizing trans characters and saying that they were justified in their opinion that I should die for writing a piece of fiction they didn’t like.
So if you dont mind me going on a bit more, it really wasn’t the death threat that upset me so much as all the baseless accusations. Like, Im sorry but it sounds like they went and looked at my fics and say the trans and nonbinary tags and get angry purely based off that. Them getting angry over nothing is really upsetting to me because I put hours of work into both the research and respectful writing of trans and NB characters in my fics. Every time I post a fic with a trans/NB character it feels like taking a flying leap off a cliff because you never know who might be offended by what and who’s going to come back at you with hate. Luckily all those fics of mine have had a great reception so far and most people really enjoy them, so I will definitely write more in the future. This person’s hate hasn’t deterred me at all.
