A/N: It’s my first time writing a soulmate au so bear with me. This took a bit long to write but i hope you enjoy it nonetheless! This one ended up being a long one haha 😅
Yonghoon: The first words you hear your soulmate say it tattooed on your wrist and disappear only once they’ve said them to you
“when will you finally appear” the words etched on his skin. He’s memorized them by now. He was glad it wasn’t super ambiguous but he’s tired of waiting for his soulmate to show up.
He walked into band practice and when he saw Giuk pick up the bass, the words that were on his wrist were gone. “I guess you met your soulmate” he pointed to Giuk’s wrist
The boy smiled and nodded, “yup, just earlier. what about you? no luck yet?”
Yonghoon shook his head, he couldn’t wait for this day to be over. Every one except him seemed to be finding their soulmate. At this point, he was sure that he didn’t have a soulmate but the words on his skin beg to differ.
He walked into the convience store and saw someone sitting near the door, looking glum. She was staring at her wrist. ‘at least i’m no the only one whose soulmate didn’t appear yet’ he thought to himself.
He bought some snacks and as he was on his way out he heard the girl mutter “when will you finally appear?” Yonghoon’s heart was beating, he glanced at his wrist, the words finally gone.
He approached her, “still looking for your soulmate?” he asked
The girl looked up at him with her eyes wide, she glanced at her wrist, the words that she was staring at a moment ago was no longer there. She pointed her finger at him “you-”
“I’m Yonghoon, nice to meet you!” he stretched out his hand for a handshake
“I’m Y/n, i guess we’re soulmates” you shake his hand still in shock.
You both talked for a while before it got dark and headed your seperate ways but not before exchanging numbers, he wouldn’t let you slip away from him. Not after he finally found you.
Harin: Your soulmate can hear all the lies you tell in advance
“i’m late because there was lots of traffic.” Harin heard the 5th lie of the week. His soulmate had a knack for being tardy and always lied to cover it up.
“Ah, i wonder what will happen this time” Harin thought out loud
“Your soulmate will lie again?” Hyungu asked him
Harin nodded, “about why they’re late today”
“at least you have heard something from your soulmate. My soulmate never lies, i don’t even know if they’re alive at this point” Hyungu pointed out
Harin’s phone beeped. It was his mom, she had come to visit Harin and asked to meet him at the nearby coffee shop if he wasn’t too busy. “That’s my mom, i’ll get going now. Good luck with your soulmate”
Harin walked to the coffee shop and saw his mom sitting at a table, he greeted his mom warmly with a hug and ordered coffee for the both of you. A girl walked into the coffee shop and his mom waved her over.
“I’m late because there was lots of traffic. I’m sorry” the girl said breathless, greeting the both of you.
Harin thought the words were familiar but didn’t think too much of the words since they were common.
Harin greeted you politely and asked his mom, “who is she?”
“Oh, that’s my student. She volunteered to tutor some kids and I remembered you saying you had a friend who needed a tutor so I decided she could help your friend.” she introduced you
The girl turns to him, “I’m y/n, i look forward to working with you, um.. well, your friend”
Harin shook her hand, “I’m Harin, it’s nice to meet you”
His mom left after finishing her coffee, leaving the two of you to talk. “Why do those words sound so familar?” Harin tapped his temple
“Pardon?” the girl asked him
“Oh? Nothing, sorry.” he said mentally cursing himself for thinking out loud again
“That’s a lie” a small smile on her lips
His eyes widened, “you can tell i’m lying?”
She nodded. Neither of them had to say it but both of them knew that they were each other’s soulmate. Now that both of you know, you both start to talk, not small talk, but friendly talk. A sort of way to get to know each other. Harin made mental note to thank his mom for introducing him to his soulmate even if she didn’t know.
Kanghyun: Every night you dream of the place where you meet your soulmate until you meet them
The same store. The same books. The same dream. He dreamt this dream countless times. Why couldn’t he meet your soulmate already?
He walked to the bookstore down the street. He could recognize it a mile away, the one from his dreams. The one he’ll meet his soulmate at.
The same rountine he wished would be over already. He spent all of his free time at the bookstore. At least he wouldn’t be bored while waiting. He’s read most if not all of the books there.
The next morning, as he was walking to the bookstore, he saw someone looking around, looking lost. They saw him and walked up to him. “Hi, i’m Y/n. I just moved to this neighborhood and do you know where [bookstore name] is?”
He nodded, “My name is Hyungu. I’m headed there now, let’s go togther” he started walking and watched as she followed him.
“so...what brought you to move here?” he asked quietly
“oh, the whole soulmate thing. I kept seeing the bookstore in my dreams and decided to move here if i was to meet my soulmate” she answered
He made some small talk, well she mostly did the talking but they arrived soon. They both went their seperate ways.
That night he didn’t dream of the bookstore. Could it be, that girl was his soulmate? Why didn’t it occur to him? He almost ran to the bookstore the next morning, he bumped into her on his way in. Her face gave away that she made the same discovery.
Dongmyeong: You can only see in black and white but when you meet your soulmate, you can see in color
“What do colors look like?” It’s something he wondered for as long as he could remember.
His friend who recently found his soulmate tried to describe the colors for him. It was no use, he just had to wait until he found his soulmate.
The bus just left as he arrived at the bus stop. It was the last stop for the day and now he’d have to walk home. He felt something wet on his head and looked up at the sky, it was raining. Great. Just great.
As he rummaged through his bag to look for an umbrella, someone approached him and put the umbrealla over his head. He looked up at the girl and suddenly he could see color. He looked at the bright colored markers in his brown bag.
“I’m y/n” the girl smiled at him
“i can see color now” he was in shock
“i know, me too” she laughed
“oh sorry. I’m Dongmyeong. Thanks for this by the way” he pointed upwards at the umbrella that is over the both of your heads
Dongmyeong didn’t know that he’d be meeting his soulmate by missing the bus in the rain. He was overjoyed and couldn’t wait to get to know you better. You were his sunshine. Just like the sun, you brought light (and color) to his life.
CyA: You can talk to your soulmate through telepathy
‘What are you doing?’ he tried talking to his soulmate. You’ve been talking for a while now. He knew that his soulmate was named ‘y/n‘ and he’d been on the lookout for any y/n’s but so far no luck.
‘I’m on the bus, what about you‘ he heard his soulmate
‘i’m just playing the bass‘ he answered
‘We should meet up if you’re in Seoul’ he heard, his heart was thumping
Could he be meeting up his soulmate, ‘I am in Seoul, let’s meet up at [adress] today at 4 p.m. if that’s good with you?’ he had an hour to be presentable
‘see you then‘ with that reply, he got out of his chair and started getting ready, he arrived early and looked around when he heard the voice in his head, ‘i’m here‘
Giuk glanced at the entrance and saw a girl standing there, looking around. He walked over and waved her over.
“I know, and i guess you know that i’m y/n” She smiled at him
He recognized your familar voice, the one he often longed to hear. The voice that brought him comfort. He couldn’t believe he finally found his soulmate.
