White This quote sums up Susan’s feelings this morning, as she woke up to five inches of fresh snow ❄️ in Colorado.. Susan has been visiting her family on the Western Slope of Colorado since middle school where local families ski at affordable resorts like Powder Horn. In college, she took turns driving all night from California to crash at her college roommate’s family vacation rental in Breckinridge. This week she has had a chance to visit Aspen for the first time where she learned about their sustainability efforts. Aspen leads the way in advocacy with their “Give a Flake” campaign. Their resorts work hard to use green and energy, advocate for policies that protect the environment and encourage you to join them. Growing up in Hawaii I was a hula dancer. The first dances I learned at about age 3 was “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” and “Walking in a Winter Wonderland.” We would dance our hearts out with funny red noses and at the end of the song throw up white plumeria flower leis and close our eyes as the petals fell around us pretending they were winter snowflakes! 🌸❄️ This week I got to live in a REAL snow globe and actual catch snowflakes on my tongue! If we do not reduce fossil fuel emissions in our atmosphere snowflakes will no longer fall😰⛄️ - thus I’m thankful to @aspenco @aspensnowmass for initiating the #giveaflake campaign to protect our winters!!
