The TOY Drive for Maryvale flyer - we still have empty donation boxes if you want one for your office? Maryvale’s Residential Treatment Program serves girls, ages 13-18 removed from their homes by the Department of Children and Family Services or referred by the Department of Probation. Most girls in residence at Maryvale have been profoundly traumatized by prior abuse, abandonment or neglect and suffer from the effects of numerous failed placements in foster care facilities. and the Emergency Placement Center is for boys and girls ages 6 to 12 who have recently been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. The program provides short-term care in a specialized setting. Last night was the Maryvale Dia De Los Muertos Party and it was WOW. like OMG WOW. The whole gazebo was filled with a huge altar, they had the most beautiful dinner party, the 📽 😊 and the kids were decorating sugar 💀s and some of them were eating the decorations ... ok, I was eating the decorations. 😘 to the awesome @maryvale_los_angeles staff, our snack peeps and @tododulcebyclaudia 😍 you're the best It was all 😊😃😁 they are such sweet kids! and you know what kids need 🤔 ... presents! Next up is the Christmas Toy Drive!!! Actually, today is the GREAT TURKEY GIVEWAY ❤ Pico! But then 💯 the Christmas Toy Drives! #GiveaKidaChance A young girl was walking along a beach upon which thousands of starfish had been washed up during a terrible storm. When she came to each starfish, she would pick it up, and throw it back into the ocean. People watched her with amusement.⠀ She had been doing this for some time when a man approached her and said,⠀ “Little girl, why are you doing this? Look at this beach! You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!”⠀ The girl seemed crushed, suddenly deflated. But after a few moments, she bent down, picked up another starfish, and hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied,⠀ “Well, I made a difference to that one!”⠀ The old man looked at the girl inquisitively and thought about what she had done and said. Inspired, he joined the little girl in throwing starfish back into the sea. #giveakidachance Maryvale in Rosemead cares for, and treats, abused, abandoned and neglected children in the foster care system through intensive programs. Maryvale's children groups and ages include: 48 girls, ages 13 to 18; 12 girls, 6 to 12; and 12 boys, 6 to 12.⠀ ⠀ The Maryvale’s Residential Treatment Program serves girls, ages 13-18, removed from their homes by the Department of Children and Family Services. Most girls in residence at Maryvale have been profoundly traumatized by prior abuse, abandonment or neglect and suffer from the effects of numerous failed placements in foster care facilities. ⠀ ⠀ The Emergency Placement Center is a short-term program provides targeted medical, educational and psycho-social assessments for girls and boys (ages 6-12) beginning the process of physical, emotional and mental healing. Ultimately the center will improve long-term care and placement stability by starting the healing process and providing assessment information to help system personnel make appropriate foster placement decisions. ⠀ ⠀ #giveakidachance (at Rosemead, California)
