Real answer is that he does not have Free Time. He fills everything with some kind of work to the point that personal life and work bleed into each other with no end in sight, and that's how he wants it. But... he does get free time I suppose because he has to hang out with Sharp at some point, doesn't he? Another reason why Sharp is so good for him, since he's from a different world, he has to leave his own and therefore is forced away from his work for a while. But more commonly Sharp visits him.
If, for any reason he has empty time, he tries to fill it anyway. Otherwise he's left with his own thoughts.
