FIFA plans to introduce competency test for football agents/intermediaries in mid 2021, although there is much debate on what the competency test will entail and its relevancy. Already the governing body are taking measures to enforce a range of proposed regulations that will impact the way the industry operates. After reading "The Done Deal" by @footballlaw , its inevitable I had to get this complete football law book ( very pricey but definitely worth every cent ). To become a competent football intermediary one must fully understand the the law governing the game of football plus the intermediary competency test will be solely based on the content of this book. It's a big book, full of legislative jargon and it will be one hell of an experience grasping the contents but this highlights the amount of work required to become the best in my field of work. This was a drill I set up pre-Lockdown to do with movement and footwork. You guys can excuse my form here as I actually couldn't keep up with it towards the latter stages (on the second round).. I mean I'm 46 years old and what do you expect? 😂.. Anyway, then main points to focus on is throughout the duration of the drill, the balls of your feet are constantly on the ground, the main point of contact, the heels of your feet barely touching the ground. This develops and programmes a habit of constantly adopting the "balls of feet" posture into the set-position at all times when under attack as opposed to the "flat feet" posture which seems to be a regular norm even with the professionals. This audiobook of a masterpiece from @davidgoggins explains his life as an underdog who mastered the skill of callousness of the mindset to face ANY form of adversity, OWN it and USE it to your advantage. Majority of the people in today's society will never experience their true potential because of the limitations of the belief systems we impose on ourselves, individually and collectively. Once I finished listening to the book I immediately started again from the beginning!.. this is how empowering his story is and also a lesson for anyone who strives in becoming more in life, because at the end of the day, life is bigger that the Self. MINDFULNESS AND MEDITATION As humans, and for every living thing on earth, we are ever evolving physically and spiritually. Keeping in tune with the body and spirit aids us in growth and development and there's no exception. One is either moving forward in life or regressing. As a goalkeeping coach and mentor, the importance for understanding the human psychology is paramount and should not be neglected in the syllabus of the fundamentals of goalkeeping development. I have understood this concept by constantly seeking ways of accentuating the pursuit of self development and one of these mediums can be achieved through the practice of #yoga, which is physical, mental and spiritual discipline that helps in improving flexibility and joints mobility, improving muscle strength, encourages healthy lymph drainage that helps boost the immune system. When all these systems are I optimal condition, one has the ability to create intense energy and focus on set goals and they become more attainable in a shorter period of time. Pre-season training is always going to be very tough and demanding mainly because of the length of time off in between. The main techniques that needs to be focused on are movement and footwork and when the fitness levels drops as expected over a prolonged period of time of no goalkeeping training, these techniques so suffer a dip in form, sharpness and composure.
