yuri comic recommendations
i used to be so obsessed with yuri to the point i had read pretty much every comic i could get my hands on online. i re-read/completed some of my favourites recently and now i'm in deep.
I love stories where it feels like they're actually queer (and written by queer women) if you know what I mean, not just girls in high school trying stuff out because those plots can get repetitive. So these recommendations may follow that theme.
Here's some recommendations from a self-proclaimed yuri expert:
'How Do We Relationship?' by Tamifull (complete) Is my ALL TIME FAVOURITE! It is written so realistically, it's painfully relatable :'<. It follows two college students' relationship over the years, the drama is insane, the emotions are high, the yearning is there. The characters are so good, I love how much detail the author puts into everything about this comic. It does get dark, as discussed in this reddit thread. It also has sexual themes. It made me cry multiple times. It's reportedly written by a lesbian woman also! I'm dying to have this full series physically.
Anything from the author Yeongol/ Lifeissalmon on twitter. My favourite right now is 'Happiness Rides a Broomstick' (not yet completed, but it has 2 seasons). The main couple is a college girl and a dokkaebi which I understand to be a kind of mythological spirit. The dokkaebi can transform into a broomstick LOL. That's all you should need honestly. But seriously their chemistry is so good and you will become addicted to the story. I also love Ring My Bell and Meeting My Ex-Girlfriend which are both completed. Their stories pretty much all contain sexual themes.
This author is one of my favourites because you can tell they work really hard on the plot, characters, and comedy. I also love their art style! They have long stories which are completed, check them out!
Love Bullet by Inee (not yet completed, has 3 volumes) is one I picked up recently, it doesn't focus on a main lesbian couple, but there are lesbian couples in it. (lifeissalmon did their afterword so it probably will get lezzie) Basically the main character dies and becomes a cupid who must match couples in order to return to being human. The thing is, cupids don't use bows anymore, they use guns. Classic cute anime girls with military equipment! The premise is so unique, the characters are well written, and the artstyle is super cute! I also heard that the author may not get greenlit for volume 4 so if you like it consider buying the physical copy.
These are my top 3 at the moment. Also, if you can't find these online, when in doubt search the author's name. I hoped this helped, enjoy!
