Model Lee Ji Yeon & GLAM's Dahee charged with blackmail + Prosecution finds no evidence of an affair between the model & Lee Byung Hun

Model Lee Ji Yeon and GLAM's Dahee, have been charged with blackmailing Lee Byung Hun by the prosecution after the police have forwarded their findings.

The Seoul Prosecutors' Office revealed on the 30th that Lee Ji Yeon and Dahee have been charged with blackmail. The prosecution also pointed out that there is no evidence to support Lee Ji Yeon's claim that she and Lee Byung Hun were dating, and stated, "There is nothing to prove that Lee Byung Hun and Lee Ji Yeon were dating."

According to the prosecution's findings, the three first got to each other on July 1 through the introduction of an acquaintance. They hung out several times after that to enjoy drinks together, and Lee Ji Yeon and Dahee devised a plan to receive either money or a house from the actor. If he refused to give them these things, they would threaten to expose the video they took on July 3 and such.

The two girls also apparently planned on capturing a scene in which Lee Byung Hun and Dahee would be hugging. So last month on the 29th, they called Lee Byung Hun to Dahee's home and Lee Ji Yeon's phone was set up near the sink to capture such a moment. However, a chance for them to hug did not come along, so Lee Ji Yeon, who had been waiting outside, came inside and showed the actor the video they had taken of their lewd conversation and threatened him. Dahee and Lee Ji Yeon brought out two travel bags and asked for 5 billion KRW. However, the actor left and reported them to the police, and on September 1 the two ladies were arrested.

Lee Ji Yeon had also earlier put up on her SNS account before this incident, showing a cosmetics set, wine, and more that were written to have been from 'B' or 'Lee Santa'. With these photos, it was speculated that she and Lee Byung Hun had an affair, but the photos are thought to have been posted so that the two girls could set up this scheme as it's been mentioned that Lee Byung Hun frequently gives gifts to his acquaintances.

The prosecution says both the girls were in need of money because Lee Ji Yeon did not have much coming in from her modeling activities, while Dahee is actually in a situation where she owes her agency 300 million KRW (~284,300 USD), which is presumed to be the training and promotional expenses which she has yet to pay off due to the lack of her group activities.

GLAM Dahee and model Lee Jiyeon blackmailed Lee Byunghun after his refusal of "buying a new house" for them

It has been revealed today that girl group GLAM's Dahee and model Lee Jiyeon had intentionally planned out a way to blackmail actor Lee Byunghun after he had refused to buy them each a set of homes when they asked him for a "small financial donation".

Prosecutor Song from the Seoul District Prosecutor's Office revealed on the 30th that both Kim Dahee and Lee Jiyeon have been charged with several accounts of acts of violence and joint-threatening, along with other unspecified charges.

It has been revealed that the model had told the actor on August 14th, "I think it would be nice if I moved into my own home," requesting that he purchase a new and personal home for her.

However, the only response Lee Jiyeon received from Lee Byunghun was, "Let's stop seeing each other."

Both GLAM's Dahee and model Lee Jiyeon believed that the actor had personal and genuine feelings of love towards the model, which is why they deemed it appropriate to ask the actor for a home in return for having a relationship with him.

The two had planned beforehand that if Lee Byunghun refused to buy them a new house, they would threaten him with a video footage; this footage is the video taken on July 3rd of the actor saying foul and inappropriate words and gestures towards them.

When the actor's response was a disappointing one, Kim Dahee and Lee Jiyeon decided to continue on with their second plan — to get the actor to hug and touch Lee Jiyeon, while they got it on camera to later use as a threat to gain money.

The singer and model then called Lee Byunghun to Lee Jiyeon's home in Seoul on August 29th at 2:40PM where they hid Kim Dahee's smart phone camera on a kitchen counter top and prepared it for recording. It was revealed, however, that Lee Byunghun was not interacting with Lee Jiyeon like the two women had planned.

Kim Dahee had been standing outside of Lee Jiyeon's apartment complex, waiting for the actor to start physically interacting with the model, but because Lee Byunghun was not showing any signs of physically interacting with the model anytime soon, the singer ran into the model's home, threatening the actor.

Kim Dahee demanded, "We have videos of you... our (herself and Lee Jiyeon) families don't live very well and are in a lot of debt. We are demanding money so that we can pay off those debts. Do you know how badly these videos of you that we have will kill your image and career? We already asked a close friend to upload those videos online for us."

Both Lee Jiyeon and Kim Dahee had two luggage bags ready for the actor, demanding that he fill it up with 5 billion Korean won (approximately $5 million USD). Upon hearing the threats, Lee Byunghun headed towards the police station to report the two women. Both the girl group member and model were arrested on September 1st.

BH Entertainment, Lee Byunghun's agency, reported earlier that the two women had showcased suspicious intentions and that the actor had already noticed the strange financial happenings, which is why he told model Lee Jiyeon, "Let's stop contacting each other." The actor denied being more than just friends with GLAM's Dahee and Lee Jiyeon. However, netizens uncovered eerily coincidental photos from the model's SNS account where mysterious photos suggested that she and Lee Byunghun were, in fact, an item.

Model Lee Ji Yeon Claims the Blackmailing Was an Impulsive Act, Lee Byung Hun’s Agency Responds

The defense lawyer of model Lee Ji Yeon has revealed that the model’s reason behind the blackmailing of actor Lee Byung Hun was because of the hurt that she received when Lee Byung Hun refused to see her any more. The defense is emphasizing that she acted impulsively as a result of her emotional state.

This past August, Lee Byung Hun was blackmailed by two young women, one revealed to be Dahee of girl group GLAM, and the other revealed to be modelLee Ji Yeon. They demanded five billion won (approximately five million USD) in exchange for a recording of their obscene conversation with Lee Byung Hun. The two are now undergoing investigation for this case.

The model’s lawyer revealed on September 9, “Model Lee started to see Lee Byung Hun approximately three months ago, meeting several times in her Gangnam home. This past August, he told her ‘Let’s not see each other anymore,’ and hurt by this breakup, she blackmailed him with the video.” The lawyer emphasized that this was an impulsive act, and it seems the reason for revealing the relationship with Lee Byung Hun may be to lessen the severity of the punishment. This revelation may also be intended to draw up with a compromise with Lee Byung Hun.

It was further revealed that the video in question was taken by Dahee. Back in June, Lee Ji Yeon, Dahee, Lee Byung Hun, and a few others were allegedly drinking wine together at Lee Ji Yeon’s home. When they ran out of wine, Lee Ji Yeon went out to buy some more drinks, and in that time when she was absent, Lee Byung Hun and Dahee supposedly had the obscene conversations.

With regards to the tickets to Europe that they had allegedly bought for escape, the lawyer claimed, “What model Lee had in her possession was not an airline ticket, but a piece of paper that she had used to write down the time and price of a round trip ticket to Sweden. He said, “We have already explained this during the examination of her belongings.”

However, Lee Byung Hun’s management agency, BH Entertainment, refuted this statement and said, “This is totally different from what was said during the police investigation. If something problematic comes up regarding the case, we will personally provide a statement explaining it.” The case is set to be sent over to the prosecution office on September 11.

On September 11, Lee Byung Hun’s agency, BH Entertainment, released an official statement regarding Lee Ji Yeon’s claim that the blackmailing was an impulsive act upon being broken up with.

BH Entertainment said, “Lee Byung Hun met Lee Ji Yeon through a friend towards the end of June. They have not once met alone, and we are not sure where the breakup claim is coming from. Lee Byung Hun stated that the two girls [Lee Ji Yeon and Dahee] used to talk about how they were having a hard time financially, and he got the feeling that they had some ulterior motives, so he told them he didn’t want to continue contact. However, it seems that statement has somehow been reported as a breakup.”

The agency further stated that considering the results of the investigation so far, including use of a soundless camera, research into a plane ticket for Europe, and the purchase of a travel bag to be used for money by the girls, they have no choice but to see the girls’ actions as premeditated.

“This sort of response, making the premeditated crime seem to be an impulsive one, we believe is an attempt to damage our image and avoid a severe sentence.”

BH Entertainment closed the statement saying that they will rely on the police investigation to uncover the motives for the crime and that they will be the first to reveal any confirmed facts or results from the case, expressing their wish for people not to believe unverified statements.
