With these delicious and beautifully decorated cookies, you can add a touch of Beverly Hills glamour to your birthday party. The almond extract adds a distinct flavor that complements the edible gold glitter decoration perfectly.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Food coloring optional. Edible gold glitter for decoration.
Instructions: Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a medium-sized bowl using a whisk. When the butter is soft, put it in a separate large bowl and mix it with the sugar until it is light and fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract and beat until everything is well mixed. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them together until they are just combined. You can get the color you want by adding a few drops of food coloring. Take two pieces of dough and roll each one into a disc. Then, wrap each disc in plastic wrap. Put it in the fridge for at least an hour. Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. One disc of dough should be rolled out to about 1/4-inch thick on a lightly floured surface. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and put them on the baking sheet that has been prepared. For 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. For a few minutes, let the cookies cool on the baking sheet. Then, move them to a wire rack to cool completely. Do the same things with the rest of the dough: roll, cut, and bake. You can add a touch of glitz to the cookies by covering them in edible gold glitter after they are completely cool.
