I was just wondering what would Lucas's and Amy's perfect day look like? Would it be adrenaline fueled or something more low key and relaxed?

I definitely think these two would enjoy a day in together, maybe baking something, reading together and watching television.

Lucas has a very high octane job, so relaxing is all he wants to do on his day off. Amy is very introverted, and likes working on her art at any chance she can.

So a day off for these two would mostly be at home after a lie in with breakfast in bed. Lucas would read his William Blake poetry to Amy while she mixes cake or biscuit batter in a bowl. Of course after eating the sweet foods, they head to bed for some happy time between the sheets. Watching a film is how they’d end the day, probably an 80’s classic like Back to the Future or one of Amy’s Disney cartoons. ❤️❤️

Hello! So if Amy and Lucas were not in MI5 what do you think they would get drawn to? Or what would you think Lucas's and Amy's ideal job would be? I thought maybe Amy maybe an illustrator possibly?

Mmmm. I could see Amy being an artist, or perhaps a counsellor. I think she has the empathy and compassion to want to help others. But also has a lot of emotion inside her that needs a way out.

Lucas is know to hate systems, so I think he’d be a lone man in some way, self-employed. I think he’d want to work for himself, be his own boss. Maybe some kind of collector as he loves William Blake. Perhaps some kind of antique book dealer. That thought made me smile to myself. 🤣🤣😉😉

Hello! So I was wondering, I know in "Broken" Lucas goes into a triggered state when he is in the rain. I was wondering if this was the scenario in "Covert Eyes" how far into the erlationship would Lucas open up about it?

I know he's very up front and tells Amy early in their relationship his time in Lushanka and his tattoos. I know in "Broken" that is Amy so her reaction to it is how Amy would react but I was wondering in the "Covert Eyes" universe did you picture a moment when a similar situation might happen?

Hopefully that makes sense. 🤪

I do touch on this very slightly in Covert Eyes, saying that Lucas never takes showers, only baths. Dripping water on his head is what takes him back to being waterboarded in Lushanka. It was never something I addressed in Covert Eyes; how he would discuss with with Amy didn’t really come up. But it’s something that can definitely be looked at in the last few chapters of the fic.

Having these questions and prompts help me to develop things even further. A lot of Amy and Lucas’ relationship isn’t on the page, and this part was never addressed in great depth. So thank you for bringing it up. ♥️ I’m noting it down. The torture Lucas endured would most definitely be something that would come up with Amy, and flashbacks are inevitable.

You've written such an wonderful variety of characters who have very different personalities in such amazing detail so I was wondering who had given you the most challenge.

I’d probably say Raymond is the biggest challenge. In Pilgrimage he’s a through and through villain, so trying to get at his humanity and spin that so he can become softer, and find love, can be fairly difficult. It’s trying to walk that fine line of getting him just right and believable, considering how nasty he is in the film.

Just wanted to drop in to say I love the way you write your chatacters, especially Amy. The way you write your female characters they are always so relateable with their vulnerabilities and insecurities that I know I personally can see so much of myself in. Reading your work always give me hopw that one day I'll be lucky to find someone who can see past all my own negative thought and feelings about myself and love me unconditionally like Lucas does with Amy.

It's a rare gift to be able to create characters that are so realistic and resonate with you long after you finish reading the story so thank you for sharing Amy and your stories with us.

I like to think Amy is the hope we can all have that a magnificent person like Lucas North would look at us for more than a second. 🤣

Thank you for this, love. It means a lot to me. While her character may mean nothing to everyone else, she means a lot to me. And the thought of putting her aside hurts a great deal. However, getting this kind of ask really, really helps.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate every word. And even when the negative voices get loud, I try my best to remember that there’s at least one person out there who appreciates the time and effort I’ve put into building the stories and characters.

Could I ask, since we know how much Amy loves Disney does she have a favourite all time Disney film? And does Lucas secretly (I know he's not secret about it) have one too?

I would actually say Amy’s favourite is Dumbo. ♥️ Because it’s such a heart wrenching film, it appeals to her.

As for Lucas, I think he’d like something a bit more action-packed. Robin Hood would be a possibility for him, or maybe Aladdin. ♥️

I just want you to know that your work and friendship means the world to me. Your writing is the gold standard I try to go by with the chemistry you create and the emotiveness you strike in me. I know I'm not the only one who will see themselves in Amy and the other characters you have created. You create descriptive worlds that are real and characters we can almost touch. It's been so exciting to see your drawing journey too, the picture of Amy will always be absolutely beautiful in my eyes and show off the techniques you've worked so hard on.

So this is my note to you to not give up. You are an amazingly talented person who I'm honoured to call my friend.
