59/100⠀ ⠀ Since this is my project, I can make the rules, which means I’m including an object that technically isn’t mine, and yet, is part of me. When my sister was little, she used a rainbow headband to secure towels to her head. At around age 31/2, she went for a nap with gum tucked inside her cheek, it fell out of her mouth and got stuck in her hair. Instead of enlisting the help of any other person in the house, (we were home that day, 4 older siblings and my parents) she did the most logical thing and hacked it out with scissors hoping no one would notice and she wouldn’t get in trouble. She also chopped most of her hair, which had never been cut before, beautiful golden locks that curled at the bottom. Mom had the rest cut off at a beauty shop then kept her hair short short. Holly HATED having short hair and would walk around with old bath towels hanging off of her head pretending she had long hair, the rainbow headband held the towels in place. Important to note that during these years she fervently had three imaginary friends named Gleda, Plebu and Brenda. Eventually, she grew her hair long, but used the headband for another 30 years until our niece broke it. ⠀ ⠀ Part of me wonder’s if I’m not just telling this story so I can talk about Gleda, Plebu and Brenda. Every couple of years I google Gleda and Plebu. Nothing has come up. I must be spelling it wrong. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #dontchewguminbed #badhaircut #gleda #plebu #brenda #imaginaryfriends #the100dayproject #the100dayproject2018 #the100dayprojectOP #objectpermanence #significantobjects #stuff #tradingcard #tradingcards #affinitydesigner #virtualcabinetofcuriosities #art #autobiography #illustration #hairaccessories
