“TheyTrynaKillUsInMichigan” by Sky Lexington
With the Flint water crisis having gotten as bad it did, it’s as good a time as ever to give our attention to a Michigan rapper outside of Detroit. As it just so happens, one of the state’s premiere underground rappers, Sky Lexington, just dropped a project appropriately titled “TheyTrynaKillUsInMichigan”. It doesn’t tackle so many of the social issues related to the situation head on, but it does give us a perspective into the life of someone who’s been directly effected, and that’s just as important.
