Author's Note: It was so interesting remixing this fic, a dark, difficult, yet ultimately beautiful piece. I chose this one from glittering_git's impressive body of work because it stuck with me so long after beta-reading it. I tried to treat this with as much love as the original. (And with care for the subject matter; my family is Catholic. I’m not allowed to receive communion though, I was never baptized. It’s a long story.) The title comes from the Latin consummō, -āre “to consummate,” to finish or perfect, although the word play for ‘consume’ is obviously there. Thank you to the-cellar-spiral for beta reading and for the inspired idea of words missing us if unused. Thanks to the mods for running this fest again! I would recommend possibly reading the pieces side by side; I have doubled the word count in each section, as Harry takes in Draco's devotion and becomes more.

It’d been a late evening; we’d had a couple of drinks, and then Harry had asked me a question that would’ve shattered my soul if I still had one: Am I too broken to be loved? He’d gone on to share the burden that weighed most heavily on him, which had nothing to do with the Dark Lord or being the Golden Boy or even magic. And afterwards, I couldn’t let it go. No one, not a living soul on this earth, was allowed to hurt my beautiful, precious Harry like that.

42. Favorite song that was released this year?

Hmmm I... don’t think I have one? I remember listening to Taylor Swift’s latest album at some point but since I’m not a huge fan I can’t think of a song that stayed with me. This year was so insane I just listened to my old faves on repeat, tbh.

52. Any trends you fell for?

Probably not (but maybe I did and don’t know about it since I don’t keep track of those 😂). I’m always the last one to know about a new meme or artist or banging TV show, it’s kinda embarrassing lol

62. Did you get a pet this year?

Unfortunately not 😔 we were hoping to get a puppy this year but the lady we’ve been in talks with told us her dog lost two pregnancies so we gotta wait for another heat cycle :(

87. Did you do something this year that you never did before?

Did an interview in 2 languages simultaneously and none of them was my mother tongue haha it was pretty tricky but everything worked out! Can’t think of anything else right now since I’ve been stuck at home and too burnt out to learn new recipes or new hobbies.
