Not sure how to take the news that the class act that is @GlendaBailey is stepping down from her editorship at #HarpersBazaar to become #globalconsultant for #Hearst. The door further closes on an era that produced monthly magazines that fueled the dreams for so many of us growing up, and later fostered careers. On the latter, thanks to #Glenda and the dynamo @laurabrown, among my celebrity and lifestyle features for #Bazaar, I had the opportunity in 2012 to share the challenges—and inevitable, joyful success—of becoming a parent via #adoption (accompanying photo by old friend, the artist #ValentinToledo). I so remember just having gotten off the plane and into a rental car, all the while going back and forth on the mobile with Laura and Glenda’s concerns and care regarding my story. They wanted to get it just right. And for the sake of parents going through the same process, a harrowing one as it always is, I am grateful. 🥂 to you Glenda on your new adventure.
