Globalization and development
So we are tasked to write a 6 blog entries with regards to our course subject which is GLOBDEV (Global Development). This is my very first entry for our class. To start off, I'd like to say that personally when I hear the world global I think that it is something huge something within the reach of almost the entirety of this world. It consists of different types of people from different countries, from different races, different social status, different backgrounds and the list just goes on. There is a concept of unrestricting exchange of goods, ideas, currencies, lifestyle, technology and more between countries. In the class lecture we have more or less talked about how people are general defined in the society and I’ve come to realize the basic truth that people are usually defined by the uniqueness in certain aspects of their lives which are somehow already pre-defined already even before people are born in this world. Furthermore, during the class lecture there were quite a number of topics that we were able to discuss such as liberal and social individuals, family and household, capitalism and globalization and the likes. Probably what I really am interested to learn more in my class in global development is more on how things really work, how the world has developed as a whole over the time that has passed and how it was able to in its current state. There are a lot of good and bad that has been happening in the world lately which I want to gain more knowledge on. So I am really looking forward to really gain more insights in all aspects of global development. May it be in the economic aspect, fashion world, social environment and the ecological aspect and more will surely give interest to me as I learn how to understand and try to gain insights during class lectures.
