GLOBE POSTERS
by No Kings Collective
In 1929 Globe Poster Printing Corp opened its doors in Baltimore and began serving burlesque shows and carnivals. Growing to become one of the nations largest showcard printers they printed boxing posters for matches up and down the eastern seaboard and became widely known for their work with R&B, soul, and jazz performers. Closing their doors in 2010 their poster collection was kept intact and is now maintained by the Maryland Institute College of Art and in 2016 No Kings Collective featured just a few of the designs on this mural for Pow!Wow! DC, next to Washington DC’s Elevation Apartment complex on Florida Ave. Formed in 2009 by Brandon Hill and Peter Chang, No Kings Collective is a small creative agency, design studio, and event production company. @nokingsdc @powwowdc @globeatmica
