1. My tried and true emotional support fic

Loving You Is Free - littlelouishiccups- Louis Tomlinson/Harry Styles - hits all my boxes. I’m a sl*t for daddy kink and rich louis soooo :)

2. THE Tomlinshaw fic, in my opinion. 

I Had Rather Hear My Dog Bark At A Crow - the one and only sunsetmog (though all their fics are.... *chef’s kiss*. i could put any of them on here) I’m not usually one for a more submissive Louis but this works for me like... in a big way. and the angst, oh the angst. I don’t think I’ve ever read this without crying.

the 5 most important fics to me

This was the absolute hardest thing ever! aaaah! I was tagged by @polkadotsvstripes who clearly hates me and made me think about this for far too long when I should have been writing.

Just Tell me the Song and I’ll Sing It by @myownsparknow - I can barely do justice as to what this fic means to me. It is my soulmate. When I read this for the first time it was anonymous, and it was the middle of the night and I just felt like I needed to run laps around my house and knock on my neighbor’s doors and spread the good news about this fic. I left so many texts to my beta, but she was asleep. I left incoherent comments on ao3, but none of this seemed like enough to me. So I copy and pasted them on tumblr just screaming into the void. But my screaming was answered and eventually I found out it was Cynthia who wrote it and I became her fan club president and friend. This fic is magical. On the surface it’s a fic about baseball and boyband songs. But oh, it’s so much more.

I Had Rather (series) by @magicalrocketships This is the fic I have read the most times. If you’ve read this classic Tomlinshaw fic, you know it’s angsty, BUT this is the fic I reread when I need comfort. I’m not sure what that says about me. bahaha. Actually, I DO know why. It’s because it’s so immersive. You’re drawn into the world so completely that there’s no room to worry about what’s going on outside this fic. So when I need to forget for a little while, this is what I turn to.

Unbelievers by @isthatyoularry Enemies to lovers is probably the trope I love best, and for me, this is the classic enemies to lovers Larry fic. When you read that first line, you gasp. When Louis creates that birthday surprise, I squirmed with embarrassment and literally read it through my fingers as though it was a scary movie. The tension! The angst! The classic Nouis friendship!

Love Is A Rebellious Bird by @100percentsassy & @gloriaandrews Hmmm. There’s a lot of enemies to lovers on this list, isn’t there? Well, I’m not that surprised really. Here’s another classic enemies to lovers au that holds a special place in my heart. It was one of the first au fics I ever read, and it was such a game changer for me. Like a huge lightbulb going off that there was a whole world of possibilities for reading and writing Larry. Probably the fic that most inspired me to try to write something myself. I remember just being shocked that a fic could make me cry. (This was early on in my fic reading journey, okay?? lol) I remember when I wrote my first fic (also enemies to lovers, ha), I reread this fic for inspiration for the tension I wanted to build between my characters. Oh, how I loved the tension in this one.

An Infinity of Cliches and Me and You by justoneshoe. Pour one out for this fic that has been deleted off ao3. Utterly delightful and also one of the few fics I continuously reread. “Louis is not in love with Harry, but the universe (and Niall) seems to think he is.” Louis finds himself in multiple alternate universes (HIgh School Musical, superheroes, medieval times, etc.) and falls in love with Harry in every universe until he makes his way back to reality. I have this downloaded and have no idea how to share it, but if you want to message me about it, I can try and figure it out.
