For the musical theatre aks thing: 28, 34, 40 :)
Thank you!!
28. What book, tv show, movie, biography, video game, etc. should be turned into a musical?
Aaaaargh just the other day I was thinking “Has someone already made this into a musical?!” about something but now I can’t remember what it was!
I once wrote about 4 bars of a song from the perspective of Billy the Bookshelf and I still think Ikea the Musical would be hilarious. Singing furniture!
And is there already a Pippi Longstocking musical? Because I want that. My childhood.
34. A musical that has left you thinking about life for a long time or deeply inspired you.
The thing is, I experience theatre (and other art and stuff too!) mostly in the moment itself - I cry in basically every show, I laugh a lot, I curl up in my seat (when I’m watching live; or wherever I’m listening to a cast album for the first time), get super emotional and into it, I love the feeling of being in a theatre. I might talk about it with someone afterwards.
But it doesn’t usually personally affect me in the long term, or inspire me to do or create anything.
Some things get stuck in my head for a bit longer than others, though. And who knows, maybe some shows have affected me in ways that I am not even aware of.
(Sorry if this is not the answer you’re looking for on this question)
40. What’s a musical more people should know about?
@jerushapendletons and @pashastrelnikov have introduced me to such absolutely underappreciated gems like Doctor Zhivago (it deserved so much more!!!!!!!), Thrill Me (two guys and a piano and a murder) and Daddy Long Legs (lovely lovely lovely)
